Thursday, June 27
Good morning everyone.
Up and trying to get ready for the day. I have to leave for work in a couple hours. I just can't get it together. So I will sit here with my coffee and friends. I tried to register for the retreat yesterday and the website wouldn't let me. I left the director a message but didn't hear back yet. If I have time at work today I will try to call them from there. I did get to the LQS and talked to the owner about entering my Jacobs Ladder in the county fair. I think I will do it. She quit entering because people said she won so much because she knew the judges. Funny thing, no one knows who is judging. To me it would make me work harder if I knew I was competing against her. Oh well. After work today I will get into my studio and work on the Quilts of Honor quilt. I should get the sashing, cornerstone and border fabrics today. Have a great day

Good morning Pals
Mary says I have been to quiet over here so I thought I would clue you all in on the coming and goings. In all honesty life around here has been quiet. Finished the R-W-B Log Cabin and am flipping the binding. Stand still on my sister's quilt as she didn't like the colors of the blocks. She bought some fabric that is to her liking mailed it to me along with fabrics she bought a while ago but because of the injuries after the car accident she was not able to make the quilt. I will mix these colors into the strips of the blocks. Thank the Good Lord for technology and sending pics. I really want her to like her quilt and for some reason I had this feeling that the colors just weren't right.
Company is coming on Saturday. Just in time for the Church BBQ.
Lots of rumors around the prison that there will be some layoffs coming. Rob is not worried as he wants to retire at the end of next year so he would have at least 6 months of unemployment. They have gone from 1200 inmates to 900. Please pray for all those that really need jobs.
**** Now the good part!!! CONGRATULATIONS GO OUT TO ...
Sallyslim - Sally, WeSignificant - Valerie and Grannysparlor - Pat for WINNING the JUNE LOTTO!!! Thank you to everyone this month for making some very FIRECRACKER Blocks!!!!!
*** The ANNUAL "Christmas in July" Lotto is up and running! Please take time to go check it out. This is a great time to make a few EASY, FAST and FUN blocks.
* Secret Pals and Secret Santa will be coming up so this is the time to think ahead and take the chance on winning a quilt full of blocks for her!!!!!
* If you have never joined in the Lotto you will receive 5 extra bonus tickets!!
* If someone invited you to join and you make 1 set of blocks then both of you will receive 5 extra bonus tickets!!!
OK - Now I am going to bed as it is 1:38am and Roger Federer has just lost his match. This is one wacky Wimbleton Tennis Tournament!!!!
HUGE HUGS to ALL!!!!

I have something funny to tell you. I was working on the Quilts of Honor quilt yesterday evening. I had just fi usher sewing the last tube together and saw a piece of selvage sticking out. I thought it was just stuck on it. Nope!! I had sewed it on. How the piece got stuck on to bein with I have no clue. But, I took that as a signal it was time to quit for the night.

Good morning , It is a foggy, rainy day here in Hatfield, PA. Boy did it rain hard here last night. We made it home from the Tile tour just before it started. The tour through the Moravian Tile Company was really interesting. About half way through I got a call from my son and he came to Doyletown, PA to meet us and we went to a pub and had a terrific visit. So all and all it was a great day. No, we didn't buy any tiles. You would not believe the prices of these individual tiles. This tile company was moved to this site in 1911. They are still in operation today.
Today, I think it will be a quiet day in the RV. Maybe I will layout the embroideries blocks for throw 2 for GKs. Hmmm maybe I should see if there are any LQS around.
Not sure what today will bring.
Hope everyone has a super terrific day. Hugs to all

Our computer is fixed, my hubby is brilliant!
I have walked two miles this morning and picked slugs in the garden for 1/2 hour (I'm calling this gardening year the year of the slugs0 (sounds like a horror movie doesn't it
and it's 7 o'clock in the morning! I'm melting and the pool in my back yard looks pretty good.
I'm hoping to spend some time in the sewing room today...I hope. We are getting the house ready for Caleb's graduation Party Saturday.
Have a great one!

Well it is another sleepless night. I got into bed at 2 and it is now 4:09 and I am still awake - UGH and not only that but all the doors in my house have taken over. They see me coming and they open just right for me to crash my arm into the knobs. They have it out for me for all those years I shut them to keep the cats out of the rooms - LOL!!!!!
If I think that is really true then I know I really need to try to get some sleep

Good Morning and Good night, I slept like a rock last night, Dr decreased the meds I am on and that may have helped. I am now stuck with 2 differing oppinions as to what happened to me. But the new primary care dr is very thorough. we shall see....I am n ot one to worry about that...I need to worry more if it will rain again today. it rained again last night and the weeds are even taller today but with the temps back into the 80s I haven't gotten out to weeds yet. Tomorrow it is supposed to cool off so a weeding I will go. you cannot see the flowers in the front for the weeds.
I did watch a video on foundation paper piecing and made my first block it is ok but I am not sure I would foundation paper piece for a log cabin. I needed to do it the way they said so all blocks are the same as this is our raffle quilt for the guild.
Well I never got the bread baked so it needs to be done today, Thinking we will have home made pizza today for super...I haven't been cooking much since I came home. bad bad bad, I did pick some green beann and lettuce yesterday.
I am excited to go to Columbus on saturday,,,I am hoping El will be there I saw an ad for QIAD got a coupon for 25%off something from the booth. I am collecting all the web coupons incase I find stuff I need...well I might find more stuff I don't need LOL.
Hope everyone gets rain who needs it (we have enough ) hope you are all feeling well. Prayers and good thought for all who need it....XXXOOO

Good Morning!
SUZ - I hope you get things worked out for the fair. It's a beautiful quilt! Yesterday as I was typing to you to go for it, I thought to myself, why don't I 'go for it', too! So, in a way, you've talked me into entering 3 quilts in my own county fair: My dimensional Grandmother's Garden, my Alaskan Sampler, and my self-portrait.
LOIS - hope the rain doesn't get cha tonite! It's been raining steadily here for several days. Glad we got our new, oversized gutters!
TERESA - I sure hope Rob doesn't lose his job! But early retirement might be nice . . .
CAROLE - a quiet day in the RV? Does that mean Jane gets to come out to play?
VICKY - you've put in a whole day already! I'd let that pool take me away!
IZZY - sounds like you had a wild night! Bet you'll be glad to see your DH come home!
JUDI - with all that rain and 80+ degrees, your weeds are probably taller than you! How come the flowers and veggies don't grow like that? I'm curious to hear what your new doctor thinks happened to you.
Today, since it's rainy, I'll let my weeds take another pass, too! I've got two short errands to run and then I'm going to make Halloween placemats and table runners for my girls. Just a fun break from regular quilting. I'm using QIAD's pattern that shows a pumpkin wallhanging on the front of it.
Congrats to the lotto winners!
And BTW, folks, only 3 more days to finish your self-portrait and get your photos to Vicki if you are participating in her challenge!
