Morning all
I posted this last night....
Just a quickie for you all, a stone is 14 pounds in weight......I lost another 3 pounds tonight, so in total I have lost 12 pounds, hoping to have hit my first stone next week.....the 'top' in my head is not a quilt top, it's a top for me to wear, I have some cheap fabric I can use to see if it works out then I can make it with the correct fabric
Prayers sent for those with illnesses/cancer, for those in bad weather and those with fried computers......and smiles and happiness sent to you all xxxxx
Sorry to dash, but I have to get ready to go over to Chris's for a day of sewing

will check in with you all later xx

Great Job Jules. Have a fun sewing day.
One week until my DS and his family comes in from FL. So I'll be getting things ready for them. I'll squeeze in some sewing time some where I'm sure.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning Jules, Lori and those that follow.
I am excited. I Googled quilting retreats yesterday and found one that is this fall in Williamsburg, VA. It is only about 2 hours away from here. I believe I am going to sign up for it. It does have a little of religion along with the quilting. It is owned by the Mennonite people. The last time I was at the LQS for a trunk show I spoke with a woman who lucked onto this retreat and she and a friend loved it. I can't wait. I am hoping to meet someone from this area that quilts also. Someone like all of you guys on here but near by. Well, I have to get going and get ready for work. Have a great day.

Good Morning!
It's 4am and can't sleep been awake since 3am so decided I just get up and do something not sure what yet.
Jules congratulations on the weight loss, are you doing a "special diet"? I started the Weight Watchers Point Plus here about a month ago an have lost 13# which I am tickled to death. Hope to lose at least 50 more.
Lori that is wonderful that your DS/family are coming to visit! Have fun getting ready for them.
Lois you sound like me seems like every time I turn around I am cleaning & rearranging my sewing room. I keep thinking I should get rid of some of this stuff then I tell myself as sure as I do I will need it. so I just keep shuffling it around.
Suzette sure hope you find someone that is close by to sew with it, its lots of fun. Let us know what you find out about the "retreat' I went to one 20 yrs ago it was in AR. we had so much fun. fairly big retreat up in the mountains.
Well, my diagnosis on my furrbaby was wrong, took her to the Vet. yesterday morning and he told me it was allergies that she was having severe case of it guess it is something we will have to look forward to it every year but this is the first year we have had her in spring/summer time so take year we will be prepare somewhat, anyway he gave her a shot and sent home some cream like stuff to put on her to help stop the itching, I felt so sorry for her she was in such discomfort.
I have decided I am going to go get my hair cut today, was tying to let it grow out but it is driving me crazy & it so hot so that will be my plan today then come home & finish the dress I started yesterday.
Have a great day All!

Good Morning, I had a restless night was up several times. not sure what that is about. I usually do not have trouble sleeping. Might be all the changes and meds. I see a nap in my future tod ay. and maybe get working on a quilt top. I feel pretty good. just tired. I need to go the the credit union today I save all our change all year for the quilt shows...and the NQS show is saterday in Columbus Ohio, I have already paid for our bus trip. I hope I can make the walking. I am excited to shop for new stuff.
I would love to find a quilting retreat close to me but not too close. They had one that was 30 minutes away but we wanted something a little farther. Not sure my sis can still go as she does need someone to stay with DBIL, he is forgetful and she is afraid to leave him alone for long peroids.
Well it is pouring rain here,,,,straight down....God is watering my plants so I don't have to. We call this a "Farmer's Rain"/
Hope you all have a great day XXXOOO

Good morning!
Jules - way to go on the weight loss. Have fun sewing with Chris today.
Lori - only a week left - yay! We have two weeks before we leave - I can't wait either.
Lois - I know what you mean about wanting to get the sewing hole cleaned out before you start the next mess. Hope you're making good progress!
Suzette - a quilting retreat sounds just wonderful. I hope you find a visible quilting friend close to you.
Scrappy Pat - sure hope your little furbaby gets to feeling better soon - poor thing. Congrats on your weight loss! Happy haircut day to you.
Bilizzy - prayers for your doctor's appt today. I never sleep good when my DH is gone either.
Judi - very smart of you to save your change up! Sorry you didn't sleep well. I'll be napping today as well. Is there someone who could stay with your DBIL so your sister could go with you to a retreat? Sounds like she could use a little R&R.
My DH woke me up last night, so he got the Bonanza and Walker theme songs sung to him for awhile. It took me several hours to get back to sleep. I woke up at 5 - blah. Today will be more getting ready for the trip and party, so no sewing. Have a wonderful day! xoxo Sharona

good morning..
Velda, hope things are less windy for you today...
Maryz.. sounds like Bill should have brought his embrodery for the trip.. I would suggest the same for Snickers but he doesn't have thumbs. glad your sis got a pooch.
Sharona, it is sad about the town in Colorado.. I want to clean our carpets too but am really liking the laminate wood flooring Jerry put in the bathroom.. I may just do it through out the whole house... not sure yet...
Jana, don't you just love "grand day"... how many grand kids do you have.. I think it's cool that they get so much grandma attention... you are making great memories for them.
Cindyg.. I am so sorry about Ed... give Vicky an extra hug from me..that sewing machine lint really does build up... I took the cover off my machine and was amazed at how much lint could be stored inside...and I look like my daddy too... and if you ask my mom she will tell you.. Christine is just like her father.... I am proud of that she hates it...guess that explains their divorce..lol
Chickie.. never got the potato salad, so we are out of luck on that one... I used the holes on my hexigon ruler you sent and put a ribbon through it.. it's now hanging from my treasure shelf.. I have things people have sent or made me that go on that shelf.. and I love that ruler...
Karlene.. how was the ultrasound? am I going to be an aunt or an uncle? on Tuesday the 2nd my aunt and I will be hitting all the thrift stores, you're welcome to come with us if you like... I'll buy lunch.
Tina.. great that your cabin blocks are done.. wouldn't it be great if they all trickled in early and showed up in our mail boxes.. happy Jaz quilt making... this weekend I plan to get my Christmas blocks either done or very close to it.
Jodie, everyone's life should have a little counterbalance.....
Vicky.. if you have to get a new computer don't get a touch screen.. if a gnat lands on it it will open the program he lands on.... plus, we never use the screen we always use the mouse.. touch sounds cool but for us it't not used.
Lori, bet your excited about seeing DS.. what fun..
Lois, I always clean up before I mess up too.
Suzette, hope the show is lots of fun and that you meet some cool people... like all of us but nearer to your home town.
Scrappy Pat... sorry you can't sleep.. is the cat allergic to it's own hair? I have tried to let my hair grow too but it never makes it past my shoulders...lol
Izzy, glad you joined us.. how old is your daughter? you are two blocks ahead of me for the Christmas swap... I will try to catch up this weekend.. prayers to you... and to DH also.
Judi, glad your change pays for your trip.. what a cool idea.. hope your sis gets to go.. how nice of God to give you a day off from watering.. blessings are everywhere.
Sharona, I bet you're excited to see those kids... it will be time to leave before you know it...
Jules, great job on yoru weight loss.. looking forward to seeing your top...
for me it's work.. it's always work...lol, but next week I am on vacation and really looking forward to it...
hope you all have a superb day,
Chriss

Jules - enjoy your day of sewing with Chris. It's so nice to be able to sew together.
Lori - getting ready for company and the anticipation is half the fun. How long since you've seen them?
Lois - I need to straighten up my sewing hole again, too. I'm sure the dogs go in there when I'm not looking and make a cluttered mess on my cutting table and it drives me crazy.
Suz - the retreat sounds wonderful. I'm so lucky to have Vicki and Sue to have sew-ins with and run around to quilt shops with. We don't get to do it very often but it sure is fun when we can.
Pat - have a relaxing time getting your hair cut. Thursday after work I get mine cut. Sorry your baby has allergies. It can be so miserable. I hate to itch.
Billizzy - hi. You must be new - welcome. When my DH is out of town overnight I sleep with the TV on so I can't hear every little thing. I also have the alarm set and a pistol in the night stand...just in case.
Grammie - oh, I think you can make that quilt show and do all the walking that comes with. After my heart caths w/stents I felt great....normal but with a little more energy. Could be that you have more energy and that keeps you from sleeping well.
I have a story for y'all. My cleaning lady broke a little candle votive cup the last time she was cleaning and wanted to replace it. I told her never mind because I didn't even remember where I got it. She felt really bad. So later that night she called me and said that she is helping her old friend pack up her house to move and that she had a little sewing machine like the ones in my great room - my Singer 221 Featherweights - and did I want it. I had no idea what kind of shape it was in or what machine it was but DH could fix it up and sell it whatever it was. Well, the cleaning lady came back yesterday and when I got home the case was sitting on the kitchen island. We opened it up and, my goodness, she's a beauty. She's a 1950 221 Featherweight in excellent condition. There's just a few minor pin scratches on the bed. Her guts are clean and have been well maintained. She has a new belt. The only thing she needs is a drip pad replaced on the bottom. DH took pix so I'll post them when I get home. Gosh, what a pleasant evening! It was such a good thing compared to the news we've been hearing lately about Ed. BTW he starts his radiation treatments today. He'll go 5 days a week for the next 3 weeks. Praying it helps.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.
