Good morning Pals
Yesterday was a great day. Rob and i went down to Ontario Mills and stopped at Rockler to pick up a Man's toy and then met his DD at The RainForest Cafe. We all like that restaurant. She headed back to AZ and then we went to Lancaster to check out Bolt's new store and some shopping at Costco and the Pet Store.

I thought about the blocks a few times but not for long. The story behind them is that I saw the (Braid Blocks) on Ebay and posted it on my timeline to make in the future. (This is the same Braid Quilt that Joan - Toekeyotow made only her blocks are bigger). Well my sister fell in love with the colors and the pattern and asked me to make the quilt in a Queen Size. I would need 144 of these size blocks. She bought the blocks after seeing that there were positive remarks and the pictures really looked good. Froggin is where you take out some stitches, readjust and sew again ... 144 - 6" blocks ... ugh. So this is my project. I was thinking about asking for a refund but the colors are really wonderful and sew many of them, my sis likes them and I don't think I have the wide range of assortment of colors in my stash. I think I just have to take one block at a time, do some rulering (Mary? You like that word? teehee) to see which blocks need froggin. The only other project I have right now is the small R-W-B Log Cabin that is on the frame that will be sent to a veteran. It would be so easy to be aggravated at this lady so Please pray for emotions to stay focused on 1 block at a time. This Braid block is no different from any other block. You can't just keep sewing on strip after strip without measuring. I've been through this when I helped Donna fix her Log Cabin blocks many years ago so I know what to do. My nickname became "Fixer" after that - LOL!!!!!

For all Lotto blockers ... You have 1 more week to make your blocks. They should be in the mail next Monday :) :) :) All it takes is one block to win so anyone who wants to join in anytime feel free!!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday. HUGE HUGS, Blessings and Prayers to ALL!!

Good morning. I thought I'd try to catch up with you before I go to sleep tonight. I've fallen a little behind because my rib has improved enough that I can go for walks and drive now. The caveat is that I tend to go out and have a great time, then come back home sore and exhausted. Tomorrow I'll start back to work on a summer project. I'm looking forward to it, but also a little nervous about taking on too much. I plan to pace myself. They have alotted me 24 hours for the project, but I think it will take longer!

I hope all the camping trips and home improvements are going well, and that everyone has been busy keeping those sewing machines humming! You and your loved ones are always in my prayers, of course.

Jodie

Good morning everyone.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day. I took hubby out to breakfast and dinner. We also went to Home Depot and looked at the glass tiles for back splash in our kitchen. We are doing a few things to the kitchen to dress it up some. Today I am back to work and when I get home I have to take apart some of my tubes for the Quilts of Honor quilt. I sewed them together wrong and realized before I had cut them. Thank goodness I hadn't cut them. Well, I have to drink my coffee and think about getting ready for work. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning all.. Jerry and Marilyn leave this morning for their camping trip and my job will be to water the garden and feed the cats...

Tina, your sis will love the quilt...

Jodie, glad you're up and around.. been wondering how you were doing...

Suzette, take a picture of your back splash.. we are going to add one after we paint... there are so many choices.

Lori, I am not going with them camping.. I am staying home and working...

Lois, hope your day is smooth and wonderful

Vicky.. I hope we both get to sew today... fingers crossed.

We had a nice fathers day.. went to church and they were having an open baptizim and Marilyn got baptized... she had been wanting to do it for a while but they only have them once a month.. and it didn't work out... she said grace at dinner last night and it went like this... Lord, thank you for this food and I hope I can be more like you, Amen....

Jerry got the usual, slippers, a fishing vest and little things... and we bbq'd burgers for dinner.. I didn't get to sew because my cousin came for a visit...

there is a fire between here and Yosemite.. no threat to me but they are evacuating people... we can see the smoke but are in no danger...the fire has moved onto federal land and get this.. because it was on government property the local fire people can't fight it.. the federal people wasted an hour calling in an official person to make decisions...so they fight their fire and we fight ours..odd huh?

time for breakfast, you all have a super day,
Chriss

Good Morning everyone.

Teresa: I know you will get that quilt fixed and put it all together,
it will be beautiful. You really must give us some pictures, before and after. That will be fun to see your progress.

Maryq: Glad you can finally ditch the boots! :)

I guess it's as good a time as ever to tell you all the NEWS: Hubby and I are getting a "new house". We finally decided to upgrade, since we are officially full timing. Our rig is going into our 11th year now. It's really 10 years old.
We ordered a new 2014 Jayco Eagle Premier. It's about the same size as what we have now, but with one extra slide. So it will have 3 slides. Oh, we are so excited! Like a couple of little kids waiting for Christmas. We ordered it in early May. I have been itching to tell everyone. They told us it might come in at the end of June, but we are telling ourselves that it will probably be more like the end of July. But it will be a BIG deal when we have to move all of our stuff into the new rig all in one day! We will be so unorganized for
a while.
I am looking forward to this so much. . . just had to share the news with all my friends. I will post a picture later when it arrives. :)

Have some fun today!!!

Good Morning Everyone

Teresa...I am sure you will be just fine with the blocks, just wondering why you need to frog, I will send you pictures of how I made mine but then mine measured 7.25" and even at that size you will need more than the 36 that the lady on e-bay was selling.

Jodie...Glad to hear that your rib is getting better, boy those hurt like crazy don't they.

Suzette...I'm sure you will be happy with your QOV quilt. Love the R-W-B quilts.

Lois...Sounds like you had a real fun day.

Vicki...Welcome back

I was looking for a group of quilters that was going to the International Quilt Show in Chicago next weekend and found String-a-long quilt guild was going. I was able to secure a spot on the bus, well actually the last spot on the bus. Yippie I'm excited. I thought I wasn't going to find a ride. Another group said they were full and taking backup number's and I would have been #6.

I posted something over in chit chat about meeting up with anyone that is going.

I see a couple of you slipped in before I hit send.

Velda Congrats on getting a new rig. How AWESOME

Chriss...Stay safe from the fires, boy those are sure scary.

May your bobbins always be full,
Joan

Good Monday morning!

Teresa - the quilt for your sister will indeed be a labor of love. Sounds like y'all had a lovely time yesterday.

Jodie - lovely to see you. I hope the project doesn't suffer from time-creep and only takes 24 hours.

Suzette - I'll need to go look up what glass tiles are - they sound fabulous. Your DH sure got the royal treatment yesterday! How wonderful to catch the mistake before cutting. Have a great day at work.

Lori - how nice that your dad is just up the street. Mine is over 800 miles away. Your pizza and salad dinner sounds fabulous. I do hope work slows down for you.

Lois - I hope this Monday isn't awful for you. I agree with you - this month is flying by.

Vicky - praying for you and your MIL. We miss you too! I bet you're closing in on finishing your sister's quilt.

Chriss - sounds like you have the better end of the stick, camping-wise. Marilyn's prayer brought tears to my eyes - it was beautiful. How wonderful that she was able to be baptized. That is just awful about the forest fire on gov't land. I was embarrassed to read about stupidity of it all. They might have been able to put the fire out in the hour they wasted. Good grief!

Velda - CONGRATS! I bet it will be beautiful. I'm excited for you as well. I'd help you move if we were closer.

Joan - woohoo! How many days until the show? I'm so glad you get to go.

Today we're headed to the Farmer's Market and some other errands around town. When we woke up this morning, it was 59 in our room - sure wish I had that wool blanket! The heat is coming today, but it was sure a nice respite. It's miller season here - now they are falling on my head every time I walk through the patio door. YUCKKKKK I despise them. When DH opened the grill to heat it up, he said over ten of them flew out. Luckily he kept his mouth closed - hahaha. Have a great day, my beautiful, quilty friends. xoxo Sharona
