Thursday 23 May

Post by Jules » Wed May 22, 2013 10:06 pm

Morning girls......firstly I'm glad all of you are safe from the tornados, so shocking what I've seen on the news, my heart and prayers go out to all those affected xx

We had some shocking news in London yesterday, a young soldier was walking down the road wearing a 'Help for Heroes' t-shirt (it's a charity helping soldiers who have been injured) and two Muslim guys stacked him with knives and meat cleavers, they literally hacked him to death all in the name of Islam - so shocking and so terribly sad....this isnt going to do anything for race relations in that area :(

I went to visit my long lost relations with my mum and aunts on Monday, it was a lovely visit and they are all so lovely but I did pay for it the next two days.......all the anxiety and stress laid me up in bed for the next two days and I am just starting to feel normal today.

Sending you all lots of love and prayers, keep safe and well xxxxx

Good morning Jules and those that follow.
The baby quiltmis officially an tv project now. I have the binding turned to the back and ready to be sewn. I got fabric in the mail yesterday also. I am going to use it for a Quilts of Honor quilt. It is from the Stonehenge line. I am going to do a tube quilt for this one. A LQS is a drop off for the tops to be quilted. I can't wait to get started. I am sure everyone knows who won DWTS by now. I am so glad that Kelly Pickler won. Although, Zendayah gave her a run for her money. Have a wonderful day.
Jules - my husband told me about the solider that was killed in your country. I am so sorry. I couldn't believe what I was reading.

Good morning Jules and Suzette.

Jules I saw that on the news. It looked horrible.

Suzette, I love to get the binding on so I can sit and sew. It's so relaxing. I have 4 Quilts of Valor I need to get the binding on. I'll probably do that later today.

Chirss so glad to hear your Grandmother is doing well.

Chickie, how fun for you to win fabric. Funny you forgot about the contest.

Mel hope you Dad starts taking his meds so he can get better.

Maryz, the R/W/B blocks are for a quilt I'm making. I started off making them for my guilds BOM. It's the block I picked for June.
There's a picture of Sunbonnet sue with the blocks in the photo section.

Hope everyone else has a great day.

Good morning Pals
It has been a very long few days. This twisted 4-patch is HUGE and VERY HEAVY. I tried to talk her out of using a thick batting (Dream Cotton Supreme ot maybe Delux) but this is what she wanted. Annabelle had such a drag on her I had to sit down after each row but it is finished - YEA!!!! Now to square up 101 x 115 and add 12 yards of binding and then flipping it. Please share with me any tips you have of staying awake while you flip your binding :) :) I will also be finishing up my R-W-B blocks for the Lotto.

Mel - 3 MORE DAYS!!!! What will you be doing to celebrate????

Velda - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Hope you day is filled with Friends, Family and all things that bring you joy.

Chickie - What contest did you enter? COngratulations on WINNING. I know you Mom makes such FABulous Quilts. Wonder ....

Jules - Prayers for sunshine to cross you path. Prayers for the family of the soldier.

Suzette - I am thrilled that Kellie won. She had such a humbleness that surrounded her.

I am off to bed. I am beat but thrilled to see the light at the end of this one tunnel :)
HUGE HUGS TO ALL!!!!!

The campground is full hook up with internet so I will keep in touch with you happenings.

Hope you all have a great day. it is warm here but very cloudy we did have some storms come through yesterday but no problems. We will get more rain today,,,,garden will really need weeding when I get back..my Irises are blooming now. XXXOOO

Thank You Teresa, for the Birthday wish. I do have a special lunch to look forward to. DH asked me where I would like to go. DQ is having the $5 lunch deal right now and I thought that would be a great treat!

My husband gave me a new bass rod and reel. It is a really nice outfit. Now if it would ever stop raining so we could start doing some fishing. It hasn't been a wash out this week, but terrible storms always on the horizon, so you just don't want to be out on the water when something pops up.

Got the news yesterday afternoon that my Sweet Sister-in-Law passed.
The family is waiting until next week after the holiday to have her services. She finally gets her peace and no more illness.

This is a big weekend for us as we are signing the papers to sell our house to our kids. We are going back tomorrow and will go out to dinner for yummy Fried Chicken at the Marine Corp League to celebrate my Birthday and the House transfer.

Closing will be Saturday morning, then we will be on our way back home.

I feel so sad for the people of Oklahoma and London. The images they showed on TV yesterday were so disturbing of the stabbing and how can people be like that. I just have a hard time understanding those things. The terror is happening all over the world. It makes it so bad for anyone who must travel.

Not doing any projects today, just going to plan to "goof off".
Takes some nice walks with "Willy" and enjoy the day.

Thanks to all of you for being my friends.

Good morning!

Sorry to do yet another drive-by posting. I need to get outside before it gets too hot.

The Indian food fest was delightful! I planted day lilies yesterday; today I’ll be spreading mulch around. Kathy, I had to look up an arborvitae, reminds me of Italy.

I can’t remember who asked me what time I went to bed – but generally it’s around 11pm. I don’t sleep well at night (arthritis/bursitis), so I usually do take a nap during the day and we get up at 6. Our Mel is the queen of staying up late!

Mel - praying for your dad.

Velda - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Well there went my time – I miss y’all and can’t wait until we’re done with the yard work. Well, at least I’ll be done…!! Have a great day. xoxo Sharona

Good morning, good morning!
I'm wearing the same pair of pants today has yesterday and I glanced down at them as I got in the car and they are covered with threads - guess it shows what I was doing last night! I've run out of a solid brown fabric that I just need a few more strips of, so I'm debating on whether to go get some, or just switch to another project until I happen upon some. Hmmm, I hate having to drive up to the city just for that. I sure do miss not having a fabric store near by that I can afford.

I had Elizabeth get a picture of a neighbor's silo that is covered in wisteria - it is so pretty. I should have gotten the picture a few days earlier when the wisteria was at it's peak as it is starting to fade, but is still gorgeous.
