Wednesday 8 April

Post by Jules » Tue May 07, 2013 7:52 pm

Morning girls, I didn't make it on yesterday, I,spent the day worrying as Charley went for her first interview at the school close by our house......she had to be interviewed by the headmistress, a teacher and a school governor, then teach a maths lesson, an English lesson, then go for a learning walk around the school with another teacher and then have lunch with the rest of the staff, so she started at 8am and finished at 12.30.......I don't know how Charley was coping but I was in knots all day, willing her to do well, praying that she did well and just generally worrying - I knew she wanted this job really badly.......SHE GOT THE JOB :) :) they rang at 6.15pm last night and subject to them getting a reference for her, which hadn't arrived yet, the job is hers.......so we are all very happy and relieved......thank you for all your prayers, they really helped :)

Congratulations to the new babies, those that have arrived and those still 'cooking'.......glad to hear everyone who was sick is getting better, relief all round......and love and prayers to you all xxxx you are all fabulous friends xx

Good morning everyone.
I am off today and really need it. This new job is much more physical then I have done in a LONG time. But, it is good. We had bad thunder and lightening during the night and I didn't hear anything at all. Today, after hubby goes to work my son and I are going to hang out for a little bit and then into my studio I will go. I am going to start on the baby quilt for my cousin's grand baby. It is a panel so it won't take long. Have a great day.

Jules - that is wonderful news for Charley!
Lois - have a great day
Mel - you have a great day also.

Congrats to all the new babies and new jobs and new quilting projects. my friend and qulting student is coming over to sew today. She is bringing a t shirt quilt and a bunch of navy flannel to sash and back it with, I am hoping she prewashed and ironed the fabric...I am going to show her some in the hoop projects. She has an embroidery machine but has not used the embroidery part..(?) That I cannot imagine. My mug rugs are taking on a lifr of their own. Now I have a bunch more to make. I guess I should quit showing them to people....

I cleaned my camper ast night and got it pretty much ready to go. decided to not shampoo the carpet it is decent and we have alarge area rug to go on it. I am ordering the wallpaper border as soon as I get off here.

Hope you all have a great day. WHen life gives you scraps make a quilt. XXXOOO

Good morning!

Jules – WAHOOOO!!! What a great way to start the day. Congrats to Charley – job well done.

Mel – good morning.

Lois – your day sounds like mine yesterday. Hope at the weather is decent for all your errands.

Suzette – who knew you’d have to go into physical training to do your new job! Glad you have today off to recouperate. Have a lovely visit with your son and happy sewing.

Mary/Rose – enjoy your day today – I assume you’re working.

Judi – have fun with your student. Well not cleaning the carpet must be saving you a lot of time. Your camper will be cute as a bug when you’re done decorating.

I have more errands to run today, and will not be starting my quilt. We learned yesterday one of the ladies in my Bible study has thyroid cancer and will be undergoing surgery and chemo. So off to buy fabric and run other errands. Our groomer yesterday said the dog needs to go to the vet – we thought her coat was changing colors, but apparently the skin underneath is flaky so she goes in Monday. Have a great day! xoxo Sharona

Good Morning Jules and all that follow

Jules...Congrats on Charley getting the job, boy I'm sure she was just pooped after such a long interview. Now you will have your baby close by all the time. Now if only the "C" family would pay up all would be great.

Maryq...Congrats on the new Grand baby, you will be there in just a few short hours now! How exciting

Maryz...So happy to hear that your DB is doing so well and will be home before long. Boy he sure know how to scare the crap right out of you doesn't he.

Judi...Your mug rugs are so darn cute, you just might have to open up a craft shop. lol I am with you on not being able to understand having an embroidery machine and not using that feature. Oh my

Mary/Rosebud...I just love a good thunder storm, just to bad my dog doesn't love them at all. He climbs on top of my head at night when they start.

Suzette... I guess after being off for a while and having the whole day to yourself it's hard giving up 1/2 of your free time. I turned down the job at the LQS in the next town over. It was too far to drive for just a few hours, and then I convinced myself not to worry about it. lol

Lois...Hope you get your running finished up early and are still able to get into your studio.

Mel...Hope your days are cooling off there in the PNW, my sister said it's been in the 80's for a few days.

Today I'm back to pulling weeds, I gave myself a week to get it all done and I just might finish the weeding part. It's starting to look better.

Prayers and hugs all around, as usual I miss saying a personal hello to everyone but I am pretty slow with getting it all on paper but I do think of all of you.

Joan

Sharona...sorry I walked on you and hope your little four legged friend feels better soon. My Papillion has started peeing in the house and I can't figure out why, he's 7 and know he shouldn't be doing that.

Good Morning!

JULES - that is wonderful news!! I'm so pleased that Charlie will be so close to home again. God is indeed smiling on your family these days!!

LOIS & MEL - here's hoping for celestial smiles on you, too, as you go about your day.

SUZ - in no time at all, you'll be over that muscle soreness and running around that place counting all your new fabric dollars as you go! Enjoy your day off!

MARY-ROSE - thank you. You have a great day!

JUDI - what wallpaper border are you getting for your 5W? We just put some up in ours that we ordered from Cabela's. It's a scene with three different mountain cabins with mountains and lakes. We love it! I also made green/cream 1/2" gingham check curtains for all 8 windows, but we've been so busy that we havent' had time to even take down the old ones yet!

I woke up early today, excited about Jim's homecoming! Terry asked us if we'd "Jim-sit" so she can go to the grocery store so we'll get to see him today basking in his own house for the first time in almost a month! I'm taking them a meal of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, lima beans, & lemon pie so I'll have to get busy cooking and mixing soon.

Yesterday, while our friends were gone doing errands all day I finished my Alaskan Sillouette Sampler! Yay!! I bought the pattern in 2006 in Kenai, Alaska and made 3 blocks in 2007. Iurned 2 blocks into cushions for our trailer, and then let the whole project languish for 5 years until last winter in our trailer in TX where I started on it again. I still need to add borders, but I'm so thrilled to have the blocks finally finished and sewn together I just had to brag it up to y'all!!

Tonite we're taking our company to DD#1's house for pizza and root beer floats. Par-tay!!

Own the day!!
