Good morning everyone.
Can't sleep tonight. The service at Arlington Cemetery went very well yesterday. Except when the minister was speaking the planes kept flying over. I guess they don't stop for funerals. Today I want to get back out to my studio and work on my Jacobs Ladder blocks. Have a great day.

Good morning Suzette....actually, it is still Wed. night here! I am just on my way to bed. Thought I pop in here and see what's going on.
In case you all didn't see...over in Chit Chat, Becca posted an update on her little GGD, Cadence. Prayers are needed for this little one.
I was able to get up to the sewing room tonight. Didn't stay long, but was able to finish up one of my paper-pieced blocks, the stacking teacups. I am so glad to have finally gotten the hang of this thing! I am really enjoying it. One of these days, okay, years (LOL), a Judy Niemeyer quilt will be on my list of things to do!
Well, guess I better get to bed. I did not win the Lotto so it is off to work I go in a few hours!
Sweet dreams to all of my quilty friends, and I will pop back in from work.
Hugs and prayers,
Mel

Good morning all
Yesterday my mind was so addled. I couldn't figure out how big the square need to be to make a continuos Bias binding. Finally called the store up in Ridgecrest to see if the batting had come in and to ask them if they had the formula that I could understand. Well she figured it out but after I said goodbye I realized I still didn't have the formula - LOL!!!!
Finished Valerie's quilt and am flipping the binding while I watch Survivor. WOW what a night. Wonder what Malcohm will do next week. He didn't need to give away his treasure.
If you could please add my DD, Courtney in your prayers that she would see at least 5 good things everyday. Stress is still a biggie. She is off to London on May 5th somewhere around the York area. I am so green with envy but I wish her an awesome trip.
Well I am off to bed. Cindy is coming over tomorrow and I am working on the McKenna Ryan quilt - I now have tunnel vision until I get it finished. Thank the good Lord I can sit down while I work on this quilt. Dr appt on Monday.
Hope you have a PIECEFUL, TERRIFIC Thursday
HUGE HUGS!!!

Good morning.. it's going to be another great day today..
Suzette, glad the funeral went well... sorry you can't sleep.
Mel.. I would love to do a Judy N quilt.. they are adorable.. make sure to post a picture of your tea cups... glad they got done... I haven't heard from Kathy and have wondered the same thing...
Teresa, we used to watch survivor till they all ran around in their undies.. hope your DD has fun in England... which Mceaan Ryan quilt are you doing?
Lois.. I have worked on my hexies for a little while now.. and I have scads.. but am always either working on or thinking of them... even when I cut fabric for something else I am taking the leftover fabric and making as many 2 1/2 inch charms for hexie's as I can...
after work my plan is to do some fabric cutting.. I decided to remake the blocks I messed up for the cabin swap.. only 13 so it's very doable... then if there is time I will make my rail fence strips.. I really want to have the top done before the next class...
so here's the question... do you all use your mat as a guide for measuring and cutting or only your ruler?
hope you all have a super duper day.

Good Morning,
SUZ - I bet your family is glad to finally be able to lay your DH's brother to rest. You've earned a day in your sewing studio. Throw the phone outside and lock the door!
MEL - I'm glad you're liking paper-piecing. I think I'd like it, too, but so far, the little I've tried has been with less than wonderful results. lol! I bet your teacups are pretty! I saw a half-finished JN quilt in person last month. I doubt I'll ever be doing one of those! But I'll be your cheerleader! I plan to call Kathy today.
TERESA - wishing your DD safe travels. I believe she will love London. How long is she staying there? Is this for a vacation?
LOIS - happy hexing! I do love their portability!
VAL & LORI - good morning! hope you have a great day!
Today I plan to make a triple batch of brownies to take to the staff that have been caring for my brother in the Trauma ICU. They've all been so super! A box for each shift. (having worked night shift for 20 yrs, I KNOW there will be none left for them if I just take one box in. lol!) We'll also go visit my brother and just maybe I can squeeze in a tiny bit of sewing on my cabin blocks. And my angel DD is bringing us dinner tonite! What a treat!
Hope your day is sew purrfect!
