Surprise surprise surprise. I'm not up early, I haven't gone to bed yet. Just wanted to start Sunday's thread. I've never started it before. I just got the body of the French Braid quilt put together. When I get up later this morning I'll decide if I'm going to put a small border then a large border on it or just put the large border. My ex-in-laws were here Saturday as well as DD#2 the her 4 kids. When they left DH and I had an errand to run. I didn't get to start sewing until 9:30PM. Today I'll do more laundry and maybe start washing the fabrics for Christmas pillowcases. I'll talk to y'all later this morning.

LOL Good morning Cindy.LOL It is 1:00am here & I am just getting ready for bed. Darned Benadryl has me wide awake. Been going through old quilt patterns I have in a 3 ring binder. I love doing that. Have a load of flannel in the washer that I will dry after I go grab a nap. Cute cute flannels for the Binky Brigade Project.

I'm glad that you had a good visit with your inlaws. That was nice. And with your DD & grands. Sherrie? Well I hope you sleep good girlfriend. I need to mow the lawn sometime tomorrow/today. Will have to take a break between the front & the back. My energy level is still not up to par. *groan* Just remembered a flat of flowers I keep forgetting to plant in the planter out at the mailbox.Ugh! Oh well. I'll just take more Benadryl & get er done.

Go get some beauty sleep & I will catch up with you later Toots!

Love Ya!
PS. Can't spell worth a rip! LOL One of these days I will learn maybe.

Well good morning. I am getting ready to go to bed. A friend of mine wanted to know if I could embroider a hot air balloon and I have been practicing. I guess I can. She wants to put one on a shirt she is going to give to her mom because she is going to surprise her with a hot air balloon ride, I did a couple and they didn't turn out too bad so tomorrow she will give me a shirt and I will get it on there for her. I just need to get it done before my surgery this tueday.

Well good nite and I will talk with you guys tomorrow.

Brenda

Good morning! Well, today is the big party and guess what, yes, it's going to rain this afternoon, right about the time the party is going to start. Oh, life can be so fun, 80 people in my little house. Maybe it will hold off for a few hours.

Well, everyone have a nice day.

Vicky

GOOD MORNING
Woke up at 5:30, couldn't go back to sleep! It's 6:30ish now, so I'm trying to be quiet.

It's been cold (like in the 50s!) and rainy here all weekend-- yesterday I sewed most of the day... am quilting a throw sized Irish Chain. Today I have a friend coming over that I haven't seen for a long time, so I have to clean a little-- at least move the quilting stuff over in the living room so she can sit down:)

Good luck Vicky with your party.. if you lived closer I would run over my screen tent-- could fit a few people under there!!

Brenda, not sure what type of surgery you are having, but hope all goes well.

Couldn't sleep myself here so up I am. I do have to still bake a cake for DGs party today. Put the maccaroni salad and green salad together. I have the prep work done for the macaroni. Then I gotta put the deviled eggs together. That prep work is done too.

DD has informed me that her you know what of a boyfriend and his son are coming so I am a little upset about that. He should be in jail for beating her up but she won't listen so I don't know what to do. I may tell him today that if it happens again, he will not like the results. Messing with a Mom is not usually a good idea! So I have to go get more steaks also.

Going to get some coffee and start working on that cake. Will probably check back a this evening.

What a beautiful morning it is here in SW Oh. Sun is shining, very little wind blowing.

Am going to the quilt show in a little while. And then I may go pick strawberries to make jam with. Will try to also find some blackberries. Don't know if those will make it into the canning jars or my stomach. We'll see.

Have a blessed and safe day.

Vivian

Good Sunny Morning from Long Island..Shock that is 2 sunny days in a row.

Cindy..Your quilt seems to be moving right along. Good for you. I will be finishing up my laundry too. Or there will be nothing or there will be nothing to wear to work.

Cathy..I mowed yesterday..good luck. Spelling..I also can not spell to save my life. All my life it has made me feel dumb! I even have a few copies of a book called "Spell Check". It has just the words spelt correctly, use it all the time.LOL
The good news is poor spelling is genetic!! I felt so much better about myself once I learned this. I still am looking things all the time..LOL

Brenda...What a wonderful thing for your friend to give her Mom..lucky Mom.
Good luck with your surgery.

Vicky..I hope that rain holds off for your party. Have a great time at the party.

quiltnewby..Have a wonderful visit with your old friend.

WeSignificant...It seems like you are a whole days work in before the really begins.
My heart goes out to you and your daughter. I know what you are going through. My DD1 lived on the west coast when her husband, of 4 years, started to hit then beat her. She slowly slipped way form me, so far away. The day before Thanksgiving 2007 she called me, he beat, kicked and wraped a light cord and his belt around her neck after he choked her. I called her Dad and said he must go there "Now". He flew out there on Thanksgiving..she would not leave him. Her Dad had to fly out there 2 more times before she would come home. It has been the only time I have ever wanted to beat the crap out of anyone. I will pray for your daughter. I support your saying something to him. I received a lot of support from the woman on this forum.

I do not know if there is any quilting for me today. I need to go to the dump. Yuck. Then I need to weed wack. Then DD1 will beover for lunch..I am never sure how long she will visit.

Later....Kathy

Good Morning everyone!! Beautiful, sunny day...but the humidity will move in later today...ugh!

Spelling....gosh, I used to be a great speller, but since I joined this forum I can't spell anymore!! lol! I was taught phonics in school, and I spell words the way they sound. So at least you know what I'm TRING to say, even if it spelled incorrectly! My DH can't spell at all, and it makes him feel bad...I hate that. My theory is that the idea is to communicate with one another...so as long as the other person knows what you are saying than who cares how you spell it??!!! lol!

The festival is still going on...on Sunday they will have a church run music group playing and the festival won't really begin again until noon. The car show is today, too. I went to sleep last night listening to the music. Since we are so close (2 doors away!)we can just sit on the porch and hear the music! There were really nice fireworks last night, so we sat in DS2's front lawn in lawn chairs and watched it...a PERFECT view!! I'll have to remember to get my funnel cake today...

Ya'll have a wonderful day!

Yawn . . .good morning, everyone. I'm getting a late start on the day. Sounds like most of you were posting last night! We enjoyed a nice family dinner for 18 to celebrate DH's sister's wedding. I had a 1/4 sheet cake with their photo on it which surprised them. Everything went of without a problem. Other than 4 people showed up that I hadn't known about and therefore weren't included in the reservation. But 4 people didn't show, so it all worked out.

Today I am going to wash/iron all my new fabrics from the big sale yesterday. That will be fun. And I'm going to pack up all my ceramic cats, cat quilts, cat pictures - all my cat things except for my real cats. it's all going into the fifth-wheel to take to our RV rally in a couple weeks. There's a campsite judging contest and I aim to win with my "Bill's Cat House" theme.

That's all I have planned for the day. And a little more quilting on my Austin Quilt. Unless some surprises pop up.

Brenda, I wish you well with your surgery on Tuesday. We'll be waiting to hear from you when you're up and able!

Cindy, do we get to see your quilt when you're finished? I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours!

Vicky, I'll hope for sun for your big party, but sounds like you all better be ready to 'dance in the rain'! Good luck!

Everyone else, Happy Day!!
