Sunday, Jan. 18th
Well, we are having a heat wave! It's 30.7 outside. Today I am going to square up some blocks I am making for my our quilt. And put some more together. I hope. My hubby is putting a new light in the kitchen and has to keep turning the power on and off. So, who knows about the sewing part. But, at least I can take care of the blocks. I don't want to do them all at the end. Have a great day!!

Pbbbbbt! No quilting for me today, I am off to work. :-/ Had a good day yesterday, though, busy but not insane. I should have 2 or 3 mommies to follow up with from yesterday; hopefully they had a decent night as well. (Notice I did not say "good" night...I don't know that you can really have a "good" night in a hospital with a brand new baby!)
Cathy, I just read your question from yesterday's Sew-In...no, we don't yet have a time frame set...DH is hustling up to get the footings poured for the foundation...he had to re-dig some holes. Turns out the pad had an 18" slope, which was too steep. It took a couple days to determine the slope and double- and triple-check the measurements. Kinda hard to see an 18" difference when it runs a length of 80 feet. Soooo, more digging this weekend, and hopefully some concrete pouring this week? The concrete then needs several weeks to cure adequately before the house can be plunked on top.
<heavy sigh> It's very interesting living in one area when your heart has pulled up stakes and gone on ahead to a new place. I have utterly fallen in love with Ramona, that funky, dusty little town! I am trying to be as patient as I can and not slip into despair. Some days I can pull it off; other days I get cranky over all the waiting. So I go quilt, and that makes me feel better.

Mornin'
well I didn't get to join the sewin last night, I was being a grandma... I was told I did a very good job of coloring.... cute.
How was the pinewood derby? and how was the meeting with El... love the pictures.... I so want to go to this... to fly it would be $200 but to drive it is 400 miles... the bad part about driving is you have to go through Los Angeles.... lots of trafic for this country girl....
My plan is to sew like crazy till a little girl gets up... so here I go,
you all have a super day.

I got 10 block done for Shakespeare. They take forever because each piece is a different color. It's going to take me a month of Sundays to get this one done, but it sure is going to look nice.
I'm off to church in a few minute and it's an all day affair so I doubt I'll be back today. If we do come home early I would like to cut more blues out.
It warmed up today we 18 above!

Good Morning all. Not quite sure what I will work on today. I have all my little bow ties sewn, just have to sew them into the block. I do need to do one more applique and sew the other applique blocks down. I could start sewing the sashing and boarders on my Thimbleberries Pioneer sampler and finish some tote bags I started. The boys have their hike today so got most of the day to myself.
Mom - what is shakespere? I have never heard of that before. Sounds interesting.
Our pinewood clinic went great. It was the best turnout we have ever had. We in fact ran out of kits to sell and had to ask some to come back next week. Now I gotta run to the scout store and get more.

Good Morning from Minnesota where we have a balmy 18 degrees ABOVE!
but it's snowing, which sucks and I'm am so READY for spring!!! I keep asking myself why I live in MN---then I remember my kids and grandbabies are here and where else would I go!
No sewing for me today.... as soon as I get butt in gear.. any minute now, I'm on my way to my oldest DS & DIL for the grandbabies baptism. Can't miss that!! When I get home it will be laundry laundry laundry!! (do you think anybody would notice tho if I sneaked into my sewing room for a few stitches) I could sew a little while the washer is running right?
Well, it's off I go
Hope y'all have a great day!

Morning all Happy Sunday, We are expecting a little more snow today and it is warming up to a balmy 20. I will finish the appliques on my baby quilt today and the binding. Then tomorrow I will run to my LQS to buy some BOM fabric. I still didn't see any kits on line so I will assume they ran out of all. I am sure I can get close to the same stuff at my LQS. I have 5 shirts and 5 pair of slacks to iron today then it's sewing unless my sis calls to do dinner. Hope you all have a great day BBL.

Wesig, isn't it nice to know how many scouts there are? My ornery kiddo is a 1st year webelo and we had to move to a pack where he was alone to a pack where there were 16 others his age. Its incredible how much they can do with so many boys!
Mgrammy, I love coloring! That's why I went into teaching, even my high schoolers color. Its all academic when they have to read directions in english! Hope you get lots of sewing done!
Maryq, its a rule that you have to sew while the washer is running, I told my kids if I didn't, the house might tip over. They didn't really buy it either.
Mom and Suzette stay warm! Our sunshine today should be coming your way in a couple of days.
CaroleJ, you have the coolest job ever!

Good Morning,
Should be a nice day, in the 50's. I've spent the last 2 days helping my DD1 move. Friday, both daughters & I got the furniture moved with a U Haul trailer, and lots of toys & stuff in 2 loads in 3 SUV's. Yesterday DH helped with moving some boxes, but he was mostly put in charge of watching the 2 grandkids. I'm the packer in the family, though my daughters have learned from watching me. I can calculate & organize what needs to go where in a trailer or vehicle to get the most in. I'm not sure if we are going to finish today or take a rest. Mostly clothes and misc. stuff left. I hate to admit this, but at 55 I'm tired! This moving stuff was a lot easier 20 yrs ago. But I'm so glad she is moving out of the low life boyfriend's townhouse & into her own apartment that I'm not complaining about my aches & pains.
I, too, want to know what a Shakespeare is.
I hope to finish my shopping list on Embroidery Online. I don't want to miss the buy one get one free sale.

Well it looks like everyone is off to a busy start this morning. I was very inspired by all the fabulous quilts yesterday. I'm going to do some sewing today, but I don't know what yet. Lori
