Well, my BFF came this morning and we finished quilting her quilt. Yippee - no problems with thread breakage. We changed thread from Coats & Clark egyptian to my good old standby, King Tut. Went smooth as a baby's butt and we got done early enough to make a trip to JoAnn's. We went to one that's 30 minutes away but it is a huge one and they have lotza stuff. I got some fabric to begin my next locker hooking project. Also some white Kona for BC blocks and other odds and ends. We met my DH at Chili's then came home and I washed my new fabrics. I fell asleep on the love seat for a few minutes and I've been sitting here for an hour reading on the forum. I barely got started on my Christmas quilt backing but tomorrow is another day. I need to think about going to bed now - have to be at church really early tomorrow - 7:15 AM - whew. I guess I'm not a morning person - LOL. A nap will be necessary tomorrow for sure.

Mequilter - what's a booyah??

DewDew - I have heel spurs. Dr. told me to wear something with a little heel and good arch support. Do you think Birkies would hurt my feet?

Cindyg.........a "booyah" is a chicken stew/soup that's made in a huge kettle that's hooked up to a propane tank & then it's stirred with a boat oar. Honest!! It's very popular in this area, I hadn't heard of it before I moved here. They made enough to fill two huge Nesco roasters plus some. We usually have a party in the fall, but didn't this year. DH brought home an ice cream pail full, so tomorrow I'll divide it up and freeze some. It's got chicken, carrots, potatoes, beans, peas, corn, onions, tomatoes, chicken base, tomato juice and water. I don't think I left anything out?
Fabricgirl..........I used MDF board for mine & then nailed it to the wall.....found it at HomeDepot & it wasn't too expensive.

Good evening everyone,
We have had a busy day and tomorrow will be just as bad. We went to town to get groceries, etc. Dh decided to stop by and get new tires for the back of the car. We put new tires on the front 2 weeks ago. So now the car has 4 new shoes. LOL Then we changed the oil in the care and greased it. Dh used the slicer and sliced up both loaves of bread that I baked yesterday. I put the slices in meal size portions in the freezer.

I worked this afternoon on one of the Sassy bags. Then decided to make a gift bag for our grandson. We are going to Kansas City tomorrow for his 3rd birthday Party. I should get to see all of our kids and grandkids tomorrow. Woohoo! If I can't be home sewing, nothing better than spending the day with the kids. (grin) We are leaving early in the morning, so I won't be on till late tomorrow night. Everyone have a wonderful day tomorrow. Get lots of sewing done.

I was determined to get outside today, and filled one big garbage can with flowers etc from the front yard. One funny thing, I have two BIG pots at the front of the porch and put sweet potato vines in them this spring, a green and a purple in each pot. Anybody want some sweet potatoes?!!! These are the ornamental kind! I have no idea if they would be any good.

My pizza turned out pretty darn good. Half is left so we have snacks for tomorrow nite.

I haven't accomplished much else today. Tomorrow I hope we can get all the back yard cleaned up, there is a ton of stuff out there. Need some boxes or something to put it all in. Luckily the garbage men pick up any amount, not just the cans.

Nite T, hope you are feeling better tomorrow.

Mequilter - sounds like my gumbo pot. We also boil shrimp w/potatoes and corn-on-the-cob in a big pot like that outside with a propane tank and burner - YUM. That booyah sounds mmm-mmmm good.

Sounds like everyone had a good day - no crisis and that's always good news. I'm going to bed now. I have to get up way before the butt-crack of dawn! Nighty-night.

Cindyg What you need are either Easy Spirit or a good sport shoe like Reebok. Easy Spirit is a little more feminine...

MoCrafter You bake your own bread...I am so impressed. I bet it is delicious...white bread or bread with seed and oats and good chewy stuff??? Can you tell I am drooling

mequilter9158 that booyah sounds intersting...wonder if is just as good scaled down and cooked on the stove

We had a beautiful day here. My dog kept trying to get me to go outside. Tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same so I think we are going to clean out the shed

Hi it is 10:33 PM after being under the weather for almost 3 weeks today I went out with DH and picked up a great buy on batting. Came home and made one of QIAD'S free pumpkin patterns, it came out so cute, I cut two out of a fat quarter and used the second one to cover a roll of toliet paper in my bathroom.
Also made a quilted bag to bake potatoes in the microwave. Hope all your days are as great as mine has been today. What have you been working on today?
