Re: I remember:
Wow you guys have a lot of memories! I don't really have a lot of early memories. Not sure why. I was probably 7 that I can first remember. I have been told things but not true memories. The first I remember is:
We lived in Europe and were getting ready to move to the states. California to be exact. We had swings behind our house and I remember swinging in them with my older sisters singing "California here I come".
Once we got to the states, we went to my grandparents in New Jersey. My grandfather had a coin collection (I have it now) and we (my sisters and I) took the nickels to the ice cream shop to buy ice cream. The man gave us the ice cream and then come to find out years later, he gave my grandfather back the nickels! He knew they were from his collection.

A Friend is God's way of making sure we never walk alone!

Wow, this is going to make me sound old!
I went to a one room school, no hot lunch, and one time my thermos of soup broke, the teacher called her husband. And he brought me soup from their house.
My Nana had a wood stove and oven.
Our first "color" TV was black and white, but had green on the bottom and blue at the top,so no matter the scene, you had blue skies or ceilings, and green floors.
Our first microwave - sitting there watching hot dogs cook!
Playing marbles, jumping rope, and hide and go seek.
Remember your "first" car seat? Ours was one that had a metal frame and hooked over the front seat of the car, and had a wheel.
Swing sets, riding bikes...we would be around the neighborhood til either Mom rang the bell or it got dark. Learning to swim in the brook (cold is not the word!)

Re: I remember:
This really got me to thinking. I remember watching westerns on TV every Saturday morning. I remember when my family had the first color TV in the area. I remember when sanitary pads were all wrapped in brown paper so people wouldn't know what you were buying. LOL I remember when the milkman delivered milk to our home and in the winter the top cream froze and we fought over who got to eat it. Boy am I old!!!

Re: I remember:
I remember watching the telephone repair man climb the telephone pole to do some work, so I sat down on the curb and sung "Davie Crocket" song to him. He kept looking down at this little toe head blonde girl with glasses. I was almost 5 then.
I started wearing glasses when I was 18 months old. My Mom told the doctor I would never wear them, he told her I would. When I woke up the next morning I came out rubbing my eye and said "Mom, where's my glasses?" she about hit the floor.
