Re: Good Morning Saturday Happy Feburary 14th
Class was very basic, how to thread the machine, wind the bobbin, etc.. She had us turn to the page that shows all the features of the machine with numbers and arrows and we went over every single one of them.... I did learn some things about thread and needles that I didn't know before. The classes go in order 1-5 but I am taking htem out of order so I can get through faster so the next class on Tuesday is on the embroidery unit so that will be good.
I spent $90 on thread yesterday....don't tell DH

Well Sandy I think I spent about the same or more so your secret is safe with me LOL. I was told by a couple of customers that Sulky works best so I got a bunch of that. I really think I will try something on it today.

Happy Valentine's Day to all!
DH is golfing so I will sew a little, then we'll go out to dinner tonight. He brought me flowers , a card and candy yesterday.
Still working on birthday block quilt. All blocks are quilted, now to start sewing them together.

Ok, I'll report in on my kids. Now of course you might have guessed a couple of my kids are grown and gone or I wouldn't have 9 grandchildren! The oldest two are 31 and 29 and out of the house, both girls. The next one is 19 and he is out of town for the weekend visiting his girlfriend, The next two 17 and 15 stayed with their girlfriend last night after the Valentines dinner. Tia played her clarinet with her friend on the piano and Emily was one of the servers. We will get them at church tomorrow. My youngest, Caleb is at his "nephews" 13th birthday, his 13th birthday will be in April, yes my daughter, Shannon (Shannonmomof4) and I were pregnant at the same time.......now that was fun
So that just leaves me and hubby.
We watched a movie this afternoon, well I watched the movie and the movie watched him. We are leaving shortly to go up to Shannon's to pick up Caleb, then our fun will be over.
So they are all alive and well and not locked in the basement (which would be something else seeings we don't have a basement!)
Now I kind of know what will happen when they all move out...(if my oldest son ever does move out!!!!)....I'll just get my hubby to take me shopping at Joann's and buy material; we will come home and he'll watch a movie and I'll sew. That will be my life...........not to bad.

Cindyg... I think that sounds like fun... I remember when my uncle got a fifth wheel where the side pulled out and it was like a living room... they have come a long way from going in the bed of the pick up truck with a porta potty in a cupboard.
Judi, I agree with Joanne, you can join a sew along... we are only on block 5 of the UGRR and you could catch up in no time... or bring Q7 with you and join the ugly swap... way fun.....
Carolyn, how exciting for you... it must be a real honor for them to have picked out such a wonderful person to receive the award... great job.
Ruth, love the quilt.
JW... glad you have great kids....
Vicky, your life sounds wonderful.
My son just called he and his girlfriend are going to Yosemite to see the snow and would I please make them some food.... My husband thinks it's funny that people in California "go to see the snow" and play in it because he is origionally from Illinois and he remembers his mom turning onthe gas oven and them all ( 5 kids) huddled in the kitchen with blankets to keep warm...
hope you all have a super day, I will check in later

Carolyn, I am a little closer to the ElPortal entrance than the Wawona entrance... hwy 140 is more on my side.... infact my son just left with his girlfriend, they are going to Yosemite right now... ding dong kids are leaving too late... it will get dark and hopefully there won't be a big storm...
When are you coming this way? there is a great little quilt shop in Oakhurst on your way to Fish Camp it is called Bear Paw...
http://www.bearpawquiltsandmore.com/'>h ... dmore.com/
If you are going to Fish Camp from Southern Calif you will probably hit hwy 41 and go right past this quilt store and on up... you won't even come near my house... If you are coming from North Calif you could come right by my house... or take Hwy 120 and not come by my house at all.... I am off of hwy 140,

Carolyn - if you are going up Hwy 41 just a few miles past Oakhurst is the turnoff for Bass Lake. It is a beautiful lake with camping, picnic areas and beaches. I spent many vacations up there. My brother's family still rents a cabin there and then goes into Yosemite and around the area. Very nice area - your family and your daughter's boyfriend's family will really have a great time.
I went shopping. I thought I would get my DH a the second DVD of "Leave It To Beaver" for Valentine's Day. I got that as well as a small box of chocolates and a DVD of "Hill Street Blues". He has high regard for the show so I think he will really like it.
