Lamberts Rocks!

Ok gang - Hubby just called me from the Sikeston MO area enroute to Hayti MO area. He said it's bad and getting worse. Saw 2' icicles hanging from signs which means there is lots of ice on the lines. He's seeing broken branches and the weather is just ramping up again.

Prayers are appreciated greatly. Thank you!

Hope you all make it home safely after going out and around. I just finished a pillow case and am laying out another one.

Good Morning

Gosh you ladies sound like you are frozen solid BBRRRR It is icy here
amd I just noticed it is snowing, but it is 33 degrees. My cable is popping on and off so there is icy lines somewhere. I don't have to go anywhere today so is no biggie for me.

Jameswife - Soooo do you buy fabric and then cut it into strips or are you cutting leftovers into strips?

We're stationed at Ft. Sill, OK. We were supposed to go to Washington last month, but DH is having some health issues so they postponed that indefinately. We're waiting now to see if Physical therapy helps his back, so we're kinda in limbo for a while.

Hummingbird is there a REAL SIMPLE pattern/link for those pillowcases? I know that I saw posts about them awhile back, but my little mind can't remember!

Just heard from DS2 and he's bringing the kids to sled ride on our hill--the only hill at all inside the village. I made "real" cocoa and put it in the crockpot and got out the marshmellows. I'm ready!!

James wife - I went to look at the pattern you are planning on making YOU GO GIRL That would make me freaking nuts. I may have to send you my next batch of scraps,,,,

Joanne here are the sites for the pillowcases. The Utube starts as a BOM but then switches to the pillowcase

Yep! Somebody posted it in the "Projects From the Heart" section awhile back. http://www.operationsupportfordeployedm ... /PCDir.php

And since you are visual like I am, here is a YOutube video to show how it's done. Couple of notes: I use the fabric measurements from the first link to make mine - it really doesn't matter though. I also lay the "header" piece down first, right side up, then the trim piece, then the body piece, right side down, so that I don't have to flip anything to make the 'sausage' step. But that is the same technique in the first link.

Scraps are always welcome here, Sandy! I really like that one because it's more than just squares and trianges. DH is still new to quilts, and he likes them, but sometimes he can't see the difference between patterns. All he sees is the squares and triangles. This'll be soemthing different and hopefully he'll like it alot. I'm always looking for patterns he'll like so I can keep them around without aggrevating him:) (Actually, he doesn't mind them, but he does want a bunch of different looking ones so he doesn't feel like I'm making the same one over and over)

kenderosa, I'm hoping to get started on the sewing on the 7th of Feb. I have to finish DH's star struck first, all it needs is borders and quilting. And he's been pestering me about getting one done for him:);

I heard on the Nashville news early this morning that the bridge from Paducah across the river to Brookport IL is totally shut down with no traffic either way. Thought some of you that are familiar with that area might be interested.
