Hi I just uploaded some photos and now if I can get Mouse off of the quilt I need to measure for the borders I might get something accomplished. Q7-it is funny how my kitties know just where to lay to impede my sewing......

Howdy all!
Crazy day the car went to the mechanic today cause the heater wasn't working in the front just in the back and it was making a clicking noise, so we find out that the gears that control the lever that opens and closes the flaps to the front heater vents is stripped.
Stupid 2 cent part and the car has been gone all day, I also mentioned I thought I could smell antifreeze our mechanic looked and found a pin size hole in a pipe not a hose so they are going to have to almost climb inside the engine compartment to fix it. SIGH!!!
So again tomarrow no car.
The kids have today and tomarrow off of school but I really wanted to take them someplace fun instead I get to be trapped in my house carless 2 days in a row, and spend more money than should be allowed to be charged for anything to fix the damn thing.

Good evening all. I haven't done too much sewing today. I did get the palm trees on my WMN blocks done! Got up at 4am this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. Fussed for about an hour, turned on the tv, watched Cary Grant in "My Favorite Wife". Loved that one when Rock Hudson/Doris Day did it too. While watching that, decided I'd better do something constructive so I finished the blocks. Went to work, got lots of papers shuffled on my desk. Not many off of it though! lol....came home decided to browse here instead of dozing off. Found out I forgot I signed up for a charm swap, went into the sewing room to watch the Rays playing the Red Sox (they're winning at the moment! wooohoo!) while cutting those charms. Can't get to the cutting table because DH put my washed fabrics on it. So, now I'm tired from ironing those (hate it when they get tangled! and frayed). I'll try to stay awake for the rest of the game and then head to bed. Still not sure I'll get those charms done, but there's always tomorrow.

Carolyn, your quilt is gorgeous!

Evie, hope your ankle feels better soon. Remember to alternate cold/heat, keep it elevated and Ibuprofen helps reduce swelling.

Ann and Sue, I'm jealous! I didn't get my Joann's flyer today....unless DH has hidden it from me knowing tomorrow is payday! lol

Keep stitchn everyone,
Jan

Jan I always pink the edges of my fabric before I toss it in the washer and that helps with the fraying...

I just finished the houses for my swap and now except for the Birthday Swap I have done everything and can concentrate on my Secret Santa Gifts

Good Evening Every one

It's almost bed time for me and I haven't been able to sew a stitch all day. What is the world coming to?

Actually I was at work all day until close to 6:30, came home, quickly cleaned up some messes on my dining room table and the kitchen. An old friend stopped by for a visit. Actually many years ago she use to work for me. It was good to see her, though it was tough because she is going through a divorce. She just wanted to sit and talk about what to do next. Her H just sort of sprung it on her a couple weeks ago.

I am so looking forward to the weekend... tomorrow is pay day and if I have any money left after paying all the bills that arrived in the mail today, I may treat myself to a FART. I sure don't NEED any more fabric, but when has it ever been about NEED. I do however need to pick up some batting to make a few Christmas stockings. Have to make 23 or 24 for the folks at work.. We decided we needed to decorate the place up a little for the holidays.

Hopefully by Saturday or Sunday night "sew in" I'll be able to report that I've actually gotten some sewing done!!! May have to sneak in a few stitches between house chores and mowing the lawn ( and I hope it's the LAST time I have to mow this year!!

See ya around!

Mary

Just checking in before I hit the hay. I'm just home from a guild meeting - we made 'Burrito Pillowcases'. It is so neat!! Has anyone done that? Hard to explain, but so easy to do.

Oh, I also talked to Susanna on the phone tonight. If nobody else has reported - she has computer problems, and can't use it for now. Something about a cable that snapped??
