Sharona - Our Hobby Lobby isn't open on Sundays either. I need to stop there tomorrow on my way home from work. Hobby Lobby and Chick-Fil-A are both closed on Sunday.

Good afternoon ladies.
It is a beautiful day here in the Great PNW. DH and DGS just left to go to DS2's GF's parent's house to watch the super bowl! LOL I have the whole afternoon to do nothing but sew!
I was hoping to get my birdhouse blocks finished this weekend but things didn't quite turn out that way. Took DGS to the mall in Olympia yesterday evening to get new shoes. I HATE going to the mall...anyway, DH drove us. We ended up having dinner at the food court and just people watching for a while. Found some shoes that were DGS approved (and grandma approved, too). Also got him some jeans and a shirt. On the way out we passed by a Hallmark store with a display of SeaHawk Beanie Ballz (same maker as TY Beanie Babies). Of course, he had to have one, and since I am the Grandma, I couldn't refuse that little face. Had a pretty good evening. It was close to 9 p.m. before we got home. No sewing done yesterday!
Sooz, I love paper-piecing. I don't do too much of it but I enjoy it. I tried it a couple of years ago but couldn't get the hang of it. I decided to try again several months ago and decided to watch some YouTube tutorials...bought an "add a quarter" ruler and now I am set. You can do anything if you have the right tools! Gotta have that ruler and a "fold back" card or template. Easy peasy.
Well, I better head upstairs. If I don't get going, they will be home and my sewing time will be gone.
