good afternoon....

It is sunny and semi-warm today but is supposed to be record breaking cold on Monday and Tuesday. We are under a winter storm warning for tomorrow. We are supposed to get 5-11 inches tomorrow but it could change before then.

I have my bird house pattern, just waiting for my birds to arrive. My lqs had an after Christmas sale. They had fq's for $1.50 and fabrics from 2.99 to 7.99 yd. I bought a few fq's and a few yard of fabrics.

Chriss....congrats on the new "seats". Life is good for you!!!

Miriam....a chicken coop bird house is a great idea. I can't wait to see it.

Izzy....you just may get a few more days off. Too bad it will be ugly to quilt shop hop. I did cut a few Hunter star blocks last night .I am doing black and red. Now to get some time to sew without playing referee~!

Debi...Happy happy birthday.. HOpe you have a great day. Remember it is only a number. My uncle is 96 and still drives and lives by himself. I tell him all the time I hope I got the same genes he did. He is my dad's brother and is the oldest of 7 kids. He is the only one living. I wonder how it must feel to be the oldest and the only one living.

Maryz..are you picking me up on your way AZ? PLZ I won't bring a lot with me!

Teresa....it's tough to get your sleep out of pattern. I hope you get yours back where you want it. I have to have at least 8 hours or I don't function well. Plus you don't want to be around me. Good luck with the sp. Looks like it will be fun.

Kathy...glad your dd is doing better. I hope you get you driveway shoveled...actually I hope it's cleaned before you get there.

Jules....let me know if you need my addy for my tea cozy! I love it, it is so adorable.

Vicky...have fun game night. I love playing games. What games are you playing? I got Cooper connect 4 for Christmas and he is getting pretty good at it.

Well I need to go to Kroger's but with the storm warning I can only imagine how packed it will be. I'm thinking we will make do with what we have. Instead I am taking the kids to the mall. If we don't get out of the house today we will go crazy. They have a play area and we will get a cookie. I tried to talk them into the goodwill but they want the mall. I think it's the cookie, I should have never mentioned it.

I hope everyone has a great day. Stay warm!

Sharon

Good evening all!
We went to see David's parents for New Years and it was white-knuckle driving going there (luckily David drove) and then we were there as this latest storm hit, but we drove back on Fri. after it had ended and at least one lane was mostly clear on the interstate. (David drove again!) I hate to be such a scared cat, but I'd rather not travel long distances i n winter weather. One of these times I'd really like to see if I could meet up with Dorothy, but it seems that the main thing we do while we're there is sit in the livingroom with the t.v. running as background noise. They don't understand why I quilt, or why I would make 'invisible' friends with people who also quilt, and they have never understood what the deal is with me and my mom exchanging chickens! (Elizabeth got me a fancy chicken calendar for Christmas!) David has a wonderful time talking with his dad so I am glad that they have time together.

Well, I'm watching the pay-off games tonight after getting the decorations taken down today. I went to pick up my machine from her month-long 'spa treatment' and they had not even started on it yet. *sigh* They said they will get ot done early in the week. I guess that gives me time to read some more Elm Creek novels - I've read three so far over the holidays. Have a wonderful night,
Karlene
