HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We went up to the club house last night for finger food, games and visiting, oh, and a little drinking too! Home by 9, then stayed up to watch TV, the ball drop, etc.

Going to work on my Orange Peel quilt today. Still having sewing up at the club house, so will take my machine up there.

My hope and prayers for everyone is that 2014 is better than 2013!

WOW you all are up and going Happy new year.

Well I have pinned 5 more NH lap quilts to start tieing; I pinned my blocks last night to sew today for Celtic mystery which by the way she revealed what it was going to look like.
http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2014/01/ ... eveal.html

I am so excited to get my blocks all done and start putting them together. It is AWESOME:))))))

DH and DD had a bug puking last night YUK I dont do puke and had rought time helping DH clean it up. What a way to roll out year into a new one.

I may hav 3 of my baby goats sold. 2 boys and Iredessa too. I usually dont sell my girls but DH and I have decided we need to lower numbers if we can Grain/feed is getting expensive and heard has already went through 100 bales hay; we have to purchase at least 200 more to make it through winter. Thats a big expense here.

Well off to my sewing once again got to get many projects done before going back to work next week. UGH:(

God Bless you this new year and Happy thoughts always

Pat/Grannysparlor......prayers for you too today. Didn't realize we had more than one Pat on here. May God bring you better health and much happiness in the new year ahead. Hope you can go home soon.

SANDY...KHO.....AND ANY OTHER ROBIN EXPERT.......What does it mean when your front yard is full of ROBINS on Jan 1st? Rod spotted one earlier today and we got out the binoculars to make sure. About noon, the whole front yard had robins everywhere in the bushes and on the ground. Don't they show up in the springtime?

I didn't know they hung out in Kansas City, MO area in the wintertime. Don't remember seeing them when we lived here before, about 16 yrs ago. Must be some bad storms somewhere they are trying to get away from. WE have been seeing lots of flocks of geese too, all heading north??????? Are they confused or is it just me??????

Have a wonderful New Year's Day. Rod just set up a table in my new sewing room/2nd bedroom so need to go set up my machine and start digging in boxes. Doesn't that sound like fun. Waiting for snow to start. Possible 1-3" here. Winter in the Midwest.....I love it.

God bless, Happy New Year and go touch some fabric. It will make you go AAAHHHHHHH and smile too. Hugs, Shirley Mae

Shirley Mae - don't know about robins, but the other day, we had a huge flock of Tundra Geese, still heading south away from the storms - they were a very large flock - so large that the weathermen here thought that it was a weather front of either rain or snow because of the sheer number of them - they showed up on the weather radar! Stretched for miles! What a sight to see.

No sightings of robins here in Utah - too cold for anything!

Good late afternoon from dreary, chilly, rainy, SW. Pa...Not a good way to start the New Year but we gotta take what we git, right?

I'm one of those that didn't make it to midnight..Last I looked at the clock, I still had about 3 minutes to go and the next thing it was 2:30...Being the party animals we are, we stayed at the neighbors until 9:30, almost a record....I had a bad morning so I didn't even go to Mass with Jim and we were to go to Kevin's but I think we'll just stay put....
We did have a sad last day of the year...One of our outside furbabies, Freckles passed away...She was at least 15 and had been ailing and in fact, I had made an appointment for Thursday to have her put to sleep...This will ease Jim's mind...He was so worried that she was cold and would get up in the middle of the night to heat the disk for her bed.....So sad as it is, it was a blessing.....

Chriss, sounds like you had a good find at the thrift shop...Last week, Nicky and I went to one of our's and it was 50% off everything in the store....I came home with a gorgeous winter coat for $3.00....I love, love shopping that way.....
I like your "trick" to get banned from doing dishes, I might have to give it a try....Do you have any that would work for laundry or cleaning????

I usually don't make resolutions just because I know I wouldn't keep them but I'm going to try to eat better and hopefully drop some pounds...Of course it's going to be hard, we still have cookies that need to be eaten..........

To all those who are in pain, those who are waiting for results from doctors and those who are in need, my deepest and most sincere best wishes and prayers....As I told Kathy the other night, I have a good feeling about this new year, it's going to be a good one!

And to all, Happy New Year
Have a great day,
Dorothy

Good afternoon to all my quilty friends.

I hope your new year is off to a great start. Prayers for healing miracles this year for all in need.

DH and I managed to snooze off and on while sitting in front of the TV and woke up just in time to see the end of 2013 and welcome in 2014! LOL We are real party animals here. We did go to the movies last night. We saw "Grudge Match" with Sylvester Stallone and Robert DeNiro. Kim Bassinger was in it, too. It was pretty good. I'll have to say, they all look pretty dang good for their ages...especially Kim. It is pretty hard to believe that she is 60 yrs old. I am younger than her and I could probably pass for her grandmother! LOL Stallone is 67 yrs old and DeNiro is 70 yrs old. Man, where has the time gone????

I think today will be a lazy day for us. No plans....I may make a batch of soap today, we'll see!

I hope you all enjoy you first day of the new year.

Hugs,
Mel

Maryq I save the Christmas cards for a year....then I send to those who send to me....and if there is a really pretty card I might stash it away,,,especially if there is a quilt on it. I always save the photo cards...cannot bear to throw them away....put them with all the othet photos....it is fun to see how much the kids have grown from year to year....

I did get a lot of Christmas put away....we didn't go to the gym it has snowed all day and Ken did ours and the neighbors...(he is blind) so Ken does his drive and path from his back door...He cannot see so he doesn't know who does it...we don't tell him. I have the village and the big tree yet to do....made the yellow eyed peas and they were awesomne...good.

I had to stop and sit for awhile back was hurting...so a rest is in order////hope you all have a greast night...XXXOOO
