Kathy, vacation is 2 wks. I will still have one more week to use before April 26.
Maryq, my daughter bought me a round trip flight to Cali for 5 days. I will get there in time for my DGD's 16th bday and stay through Christmas. The rest of the time will probably be at home, but haven't decided yet for sure.
Chriss, I hope it works out too.
Cindyg, I agree.
I'll check back later.

Goof morning!
This will be quick for me as well.
Suzette - congrats! I also love her name.
Maryq - those baby buns are just the cutest things. I tried to pinch them on my screen but alas, nothing happened...
Pat - praying for your results today.
Better run - need to get to Wally-world.
Have a great day! xoxo Sharona

Finished the chocolate chip and oatmeal craisin ( I had to make another batch,,,,gave some to the nieghbors.) Have 3 more gifts to wrap....3 more coming in the mail....Got a bunch of nice Christmas gifts from my BFF today.....I opened them already cause I HAVE BEEN REALLY GOOD. Now I will go sew a bit...Ken left to go to get Pierogies with a friend of ours....you have to preorder them....I don't make then any more....too much work....and they are really expensive to buy them from this place. b ut they get over 100 for their party and Ken went for the ride. He may bring some home anyway....they have a few made in the store .....we shall see....very frosty here.....19 going to get going.....XXXOOO
The Professional quilter,,,,has one computerized and one she programs as she is doing it.....but she is a work aholic and lives alone...she says she watches tv in her basement while she quilts/////she was able to pay off both machines with the money she makes....super woman I guess...I just met her so I don't know.......

Re: Friday, December 13
Good afternoon from sunny, but very cold, Sw. Pa....And in our forecast, more snow, why not??? But, we're nothing like Buffalo, NY...
Not much on the schedule for today, but that's mostly every day, lol....You would think I have everything done for the holiday, wouldn't you?...But, help is on the way.....I had a call from Nicky and he wants to decorate the tree AND bake cookies....And he also said, he has some new recipes he'd like to try when he gets here....And I also had a text from Cari, Kathy's youngest DD, wanting to know if I had any requests for cookies, she's baking this weekend..I told her, Pap isn't picky when it comes to cookies...
Suzette, Wow, great news! Another little miracle, perfect Christmas gift....It is a shame that job gets in the way of "fun" things, but I'm sure you'll get that quilt done in now time.....
Maryq and CindyB, your posts about "mom sitting" brought back a lot of good memories...My Mom liked to have her glass of wine before going to bed..We laughed because she kept some in her closet for "medicinal" purposes and she really believed it helped if she was getting a cold..After she had her stroke, she still wanted that wine and we'd give her grape juice and she was satisfied...It's been 14 yrs. and I still miss her every day.....
Chriss, good luck with your search for that ball..I don't think I've every seen one but if it's out there, you'll find it....We keep our Aldi's bags and a quarter right in the car, just like the Boy Scouts, always prepared...I love the concept of "paying" for the buggy, saves them from chasing them all over the lot plus paying someone to retrieve them...And we have found, more and more, a person bringing their cart back will just give it to you and say, pass it along...We have met some of the nicest people at Aldi's....
For all those wishing or wanting to move to a warmer place, please don't leave me behind...I can be ready to go in 5 minutes......
And with that, I'm going to get a cup of HOT tea and retreat to my sewing room....I did finish the binding on the last quilt and also made a pillow cover with the extra backing...Now, just have to whip up a label...I might even start to clean that room, might.....
You all have a great day, stay warm............
Dorothy

Re: Friday, December 13
Good morning/afternoon to you all
The party was great last night. Wonderful food, loads of fun with the white elephant fighting and then the gift swapping and then making some ornaments.
My white elephant is a 20" Leg Lamp from the Christmas Story movie. Rob LOVES it - LOL
Delores β I am like you in trying to GET warm and then stay that way. My niece lives in Kawaii. I will have to suggest she check out the warehouse. Hope to visit sometime soon.
Suzette β Congrats on your new bundle of joy. My son was 35 on the 9th.
Velda β Canβt wait to see your Lotto Blocks. It is so much fun to make but also to show them off to your Cotton buddies you sew with. Donβt forget anyone can join in at any time β friends included ο
Vicky β That smoothie sounds wonderful. Now if only I can have someone make me one ο. Your blocks are a delight to see. I felt that way when I was making the braid blocks. I saw to much yellow so had to change some of them.
Becca β What a wonderful thing to do β celebrate a birthday early. Enjoy the party!!!
Grammie β sorry the party was just ok. 62 women is a lot and you had to pay for your srinks. I would be grumbling also. As much as I love to quilt β 60-80hrs is just way to much for me. I want to be able to enjoy making some quilts as well as quilting for others.
Maryq β I am going to have to go to facebook. Baby tooshes are adorable ο
Chriss β we donβt have to pay the quarter here. Just pick a space where there is no cart. Not sure what kind of ball you are looking for but I goggled it and there are many to choose from.
Kathy β how wonderful to share your bird with your sis. What tabletopper are you making???
Well this is as much as the fingers will let me do right now. HUGE HUGS, HAPPY BIRTHDAYS to you ALL!!!!
I am off to do some more organizing and cleaning and sewing and then some online shopping tonight when Rob comes home. Time is flying and I canβt wait for DH to much longer.

Good morning...we might get snow or maybe rain tonight and tomorrow morning. I am over winter. When is it going to be spring?
Suzette...congrats on the new baby. I like the name.
Chriss....the elf on the shelf is fun. Lucy is better at finding him than Cooper. I hate to say this but he is a little lazy about things. I don't know if it's a boy thing or not! Lucy is much more independent. It's good that Mar still believes, it makes it fun.
Rosebud.....how long are you on vacation for? I hope it's until after the first of the year. Enjoy it and stay warm under your quilt!
Maryz....Scotty sure has grown. So what does he think about the tree?
Vicky...your smoothie sounds yummy. How nice to have Caleb around.
Well I hope I don't regret doing this but I am taking the kids to the mall tonight. There is a Von Maur (too expensive for me) that has a grand piano and they play Christmas music. It is very nice and decorated with a sleigh. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!! lol
We have an Aldi's here also. They have a lot of unique food items this time of year.
It's hard to imagine that it will be Christmas soon. Where did the year go?
Have a great evening
Sharon

Re: Friday, December 13
Good Friday afternoon all,
We woke up to quite a bit of snow and the real snow isn't supposed to start till tomorrow morning. I'd be okay just hibernating, but Elizabeth has a 40min drive to and from work and she is scheduled for both tomorrow morning and Sunday morning.
It was a busy at work that last few days. I did get the second binding done. This quilt was made from orphan blocks and originally was going to alternate between pinwheel blocks and navy/white 16 patch blocks. They did not go together, so in an effort to give them a common bond and add some pizzazz, I added some chartreuse sashings - wow! That led to not pizzazz but ugly - I mean this was the ugliest quilt I'd have ever made. So, I took the chartreuse sashings off and found this happy little plaid fabric to tie the two different blocks together. I kind of like it now. I'm still trying to figure out how to use the chartreuse fabric.
Have a great weekend everyone,
Karlene
