Re: Friday September 27, 2013
Hi Everybody, Prayers for all in need today and that seems to include everyone. No time to reply to all but read when I can. Very busy week and trying to still sort and pack and still do day to day stuff. I agree, where has Sept gone? Time flies when you have a million things to do.
But, God is at our side, showering down blessings on us each day. This has been such a crazy week for us, filled with awesome miracles to get us closer to moving.
Rod is getting more hrs lately so pay checks have been larger than planned on. Turned in a claim for Unclaimed Money a few months ago and that check showed up this week, much larger than we expected.
Rod has had an ad on Craig's list for over a month and no calls. Yesterday we got a call and sold most of it. And in the process we met a delightful couple. They are traveling missionaries for Spanish speaking churches in the US and Mexico. They just bought an old motorhome to give them an easier way to travel as they preach and sing.
When Rod found out what they do, he came down in price and threw in some extra stuff too. I gave the lady some quilting mags and we all chatted for quite some time. Please keep these folks in your prayers as they reach out to others and travel to some not so safe areas.
Their first names are Paqui and Ruben. Due to the problems in the world these days, I will not post their last names. But please add them to your prayer list. God knows who you are praying for. I have their phone # and hope to keep in touch to see where all they go.
My DD3 called last night and wants us to go to the World Life Zoo on Sat morning. Supposed to be around 69* that day so should be nice to walk around. Great way to spend some time together with DGS before we move.
I look at the stuff I am sorting, read notes on quilt blocks and wish I had time to quilt something, anything. I don't. So I pack it in a box and dream about someday when I can unpack it and sew again. I miss that.
I see so many things on here I would love to reply to. Maybe someday I can do that again too.
CAROLE.......Prayers of thanks to God that you got your infusion mess all taken care of. Ins co. and medicare are no fun to deal with. WE have fought them both and also VA to get Rod some much needed medical help. If your dr is on your side, that helps a great deal. Rod took infusions for a long time but drs said can only do it so long and then have to switch to something else. Not sure why. Praying the aches and pains get better so you can get back to enjoying life again.
I need to get busy. May God bless you all in some special way today as HE has blessed us. Things are falling into place so rapidly now, we feel that this is God leading us to other places. May get to Missouri in time to see the falling colorful leaves and then snow.
Take care everyone. Love and hugs across the miles mixed with prayers for you all always. Shirley Mae

Good afternoon everyone. Been kind of a crazy week so I am just catching up with everyone.
Lots and lots of prayers headed out to everyone in need. Positive thoughts also.
The tournament went well. We did get rained out after 12 holes but the golfers were fine with it and we had a great dinner, raffles and prizes and music.
Mo is doing well in nc. He just loves being a Marine.
Hubby and our middle grandson were in a car accident last Sunday, bipoth are fine. The Durango on the other hand, going to the scrap yard.
Torries surgery is still scheduled for oct. 3. She will be having the double mastectomy.
Cousin heather is getting stronger every day, Myles is coming along. He sure is enjoying that I spy quilt that farmchick and you all created for him two years ago, especially with this fall weather.
Well I wish you all sunshine and flowers today and everyday
Don't forget October is creeping up on us. Schedule that mamo p,ease.

I am still working on lap quilts. Squaring up blocks and making strips. I may never see the end of that road LOL. I am so thankful to all you ladies who sent me blocks. My group cut 12.5 blocks from fabric for fillers so no real quilt blocks from them--none of them quilt. Only 3 of us sew. the other two ladies are sewing our 50 stockings that go to the Jail for incarcerated men/women to give to their children on christmas visit. Sooooo leaves me doing the lap quilts. Its ok it was my idea and I do so enjoy the NH clients. Give me old over these young any day at least you get manners and respect:)) a thank you tooo...
I hope to get in sewing room tonight. I want to make judy some pinks:) I just found a bag of pink scraps and I have the pink ribbon pattern that I have been wanting to try out. So here I go to work on those too. I also have my SBS blocks to cut out and do. I will be in there a while tonight

Good afternoon -
Finally made it down here to the computer - been running and cleaning all day so far - FIL's plane is on the ground here in SLC and DH is there to pick him up. BIL is getting a rental car and will meet them at the new home. I did the shopping for the bedding that was needed for tonight - Matt and Sarah have everything packed up from the place in California and are heading up to DS's - to get the Mercedes that is FIL's baby. Then they will go as far as Elko tonight and be here in the early morning. I know Matt - he will want to leave by 6 a.m. and it is a three hour or so drive.
My grass turned white today! It snowed here and stuck on the ground for a few minutes - all the mountain and hills around me have a dusting of snow. The snow here at the house is already melted - it is so nice to look out my sewing windows and see that wonderful grass! The rugs are next on my list to wash again now that the dirt is gone from the yard. We are still waiting on the fence company to finish the panels - I guess that they will be here on Monday to do that.
Stu and my nephew from across the street just hauled up the bedroom set that I used in California and hated! It is solid oak - with large towers on either side of the headboard with a mirror over the top of the headboard - my nephew is getting it for his room - glad that it is out of here - it has been threatened to go to the local landfill - but DH prevented that - it is only about 6 years old and in grand condition. I tried everything I could to get it to stay in California - but lost that battle - now it is gone!!!!! Stu then moved the train tables to an area out of the store room - this will make place for all the Christmas storage until the train tables are built in place - which means that my new LA has room!! It will be assembled on Monday morning. Stu doesn't know yet that he has to move the Christmas - again - back into the storage room - but he is a good sport and works hard for me.
Well that is my busy day - now I need to go up and finish putting away the dry goods from grocery shopping and get dinner in the works for the family. I will be feeding all of them for the next few days as BIL will be in town until Monday. He doesn't have any classes that he is teaching at the University until Tuesday. He is a history professor- a "Dr" - rather pretentious - so I always say that he is "educated beyond his intelligence" - I smile and put up with him. We only have to see him once in a great while - thank goodness!
Hugs and Prayers!
