Good morning! - well at least as I start this! LOL

Little one is finally down for nap - I can't come and get on my computer until he is down - all is in the basement and it is not quite baby proofed! LOL - I will move some of his toys downstairs and block off with boxes the railroad half and then he can play while I am down here.

I did get to sew yesterday - got the bottom half of the cabins made for the swap. But I may have to re-make my trees - we shall see. I am now working on adding the roofs and then I will be done - so I hope!

Not much going on here -

Like Miriam said - journals are part of the best of doing family history/research. They hold so much information and stories. I am so far behind in writing down all the things that happen in this family - they will all be in trouble when my brain is no longer working - I am the one that remembers all the dates and the chronology of when and how things have happened - guess that I better get busy!

Tonight will be the furniture move - the old down here and make way for the new upstairs. Matt was going to use to Stu to help in the morning, but since Stu is on Trek - I will get Aaron and Joseph to help move it.

Sarah and Joseph have a sad funeral to attend on Monday - a young friend of theirs, a mother of two small girls passed away from brain tumor complications this last week-end. The young mother was about 30 years old. Those little girls have their Dad and lots of extended family, but still will be a sad time. The girls are about 5 and 7, if I remember right.

Well, if I get to do any sewing I need to get busy!

Have a great day!
Hugs

Well, the marking is DONE! It only took me all day. I cross hatched the borders and the applique blocks. The other blocks she will stitch in the ditch. I did notice everything is not completely square.... That's what makes it homemade...right. It will be beautiful regardless.

Vicky

P.S. yes it was me that made the Shakespeare in the Park. I love that quilt and if I didn't have so many other quilts I want to make I would make myself one of those.

Good day to everyone.

I just typed a whole long message about my day, hit a key and lost it ALL!!! Darn! I do that soooooo much. Wish I knew which key it was, I would put a sticker on it and stay away from it.

Went fishing this morning and was typing about my catching a big turtle. I really thought I was hung up on a log. Then it began to move and when I got it to the boat, it was a 4 - 5 lb turtle. We got the hook out of his mouth and set him free. What an experience!! Never had that happen before.

Then this afternoon, I was playing around with the August Lotto block.
Before I can enter this one, I will have to go and purchase more fabric. I am going to have to stop entering these monthly lottos. They are so much fun, but each month requires special colors or patterns and I just can't afford to keep buying all this fabric.

If I wasn't living in an RV, I would have lots of fabric and a big stash, but our choice of this lifestyle brings about changes and things you have to give up. I don't want to give up quilting, but I need to be careful not to accumulate too much fabric.

I have so many pieces now, I need to start finding patterns to make things to use these scraps for gifts, gadgets, and useful items.
The table runners I am making now will use up quite a bit and they are going to be gifts for my two sisters and sister-in-law.

Well, I better send this off before I go and loose all my info again.

LOL

Have fun everyone!!

Well I just cleaned up the catastrophe of a kitchen after 2 days of canning. 75 ears of corn put up; some whole some cut off cob. Another 7qts green beans done and 2 qts of pickled peppers. I have the extra beans in pot on stove with ham hock in it for supper. Cut off cob corn in pan also and plan to make cornbread and that will din din here:))

Gabriele-congrats to your daughter I know your proud:)

Irishgram--I love the story of you meeting your DH in hospital soooo sweet.

Vicky I too love to watch the chicks grow; I posted about 3 weeks back my new chicks well they are getting their feathers and now you can see their colors:) I think we have 3 roosters in bunch which I will use for stew. The hens will be replacement layers for the 25 I have now that are 4 yrs old and not doing as well. Heat gets them to slow down so we avg about only 6 eggs a day now. When it cools down usually 12-18 a day. Varments got my newest ones a few months ago they were good layers. I have bucket of scraps for them later. I love to watch them eat and enjoy the leftovers:) i have a swing outside of the coop and we sit and watch them frolic

Well never made it to sewing room today but that is where I am headed after this post. Dh is trying to move around some today so went down to shop to tinker. DS came over for visit; that was nice he was off today. Love to hear all his dreams and laugh. His DW wants him to build her new furniture; so he has purchased wood shop tools. I laugh cause I know him. He would start builing legos and then outside he would wander and forget about his build for days. LOL I hope she can keep him focused. He cant stand to be cooped up inside. I gave him some of his dads books on cabnitry and his old Wood magazines. I wrote mom on a couple of projects LOL quilt rack and oldfasioned kitchen cabinet:)) Hey gotta remember mom right:)

I still have to pasturize milk and make butter today but going to sew for a bit first.

Glad to see you all are having fun and staying cool.
