Jules - congrats to Charlie on her graduation and her house. How exciting for your family.
Farmchick - yes, that's the iron I have. I love love love it.
Lucie - looks like you and your DH will just have to go with a non-descript sofa and chair. I wouldn't like the chrome either. I like the more traditional stuff.

Good Afternoon. I LOVE Facebook...it keeps me in touch with family I do not see...Old forum friends who are no longer posting here, and all the latest quilting news, I have to admit Candy Crush saga makes me crazy(but i still play it) I find all the best recipes, and a lot of good ideas for decorating and also....a lot of info on Organic veggies and GMO legislation...It is my news source.(some true some not so much) It is a fun place, for me anyways, Some friends I have not talked to in years are now with me daily.
Kale is a lot like cabbage in flavor....Lucie here is what I do...I add it to all my soups, and as a side dish I saute some turkey bacon in a tiny bit of oil. add sliced onion, a clove of minced garlic, A few cut up red potatoes and add the 2 cups of chicken stock and the kale chopped. (wash it good it is sandy) cover and simmer till it is soft and potatoes are done about a half hour. I eat this without anything else...Ken likes it with some meat on the side. I also add kale to all my salads. raw We grew it in the garden this year and it was sooo good. I may try a second planting of it this week and see if I can get some for fall.
Kids have gone home....phew I am a tired grammie. I never got the purse done but will try to finish it tomorrow...I have all the top stitching to do and bottom sleeve.
I am going out to cut grass and weed wack now....weeds are taking over. i saw a bit of poison ivy in my flower beds so I need to get the spray bottle out and dose it.
Hope your day s going well....Church in the park sounds nice. XXXOOO

Teresa: You all have me interested in "Cedar Cove" I did a search and found it on our Hallmark channell tonight. It says that it is the "pilot" - Looks like the Series Premier starts on July 27. So I am glad I found it for tonight. Thanks to you, Teresa. I just set the DVR to record the series. Thanks for reminding all of us.

Well, here it is almost late afternoon & I am just getting around to posting.....Had a wonderful day yesterday with my daughter she helped get 3 quilts tops cut out for me to sew this week.......They will be D9P.....I did a little sewing yesterday using my arthritic wrist brace on and so that helped! Wrist a little sore today so am letting it rest maybe try to sew some more this evening.
Teresa....I was wondering about that a little with Cedar Cove, but its been so long since I read the book thought maybe I had forgotten some things, but I enjoyed and ohhhhhhhhhh love the beautiful view of the cove.......I miss the ocean, crashing, waves, foghorns, seagulls if I could I would move in a heart beat to the coast would love to live in Maine but know that my arthritis would kill me in the winter time or MI, MN northern OR (lived there a good number of years ago) Was more or less raised on the West coast my folks would come to KS to harvest (Dad had a wheat farm) then we would go back to CA for the winter.....loved the 17 mile drive there by Carmel/Monterey area, we lived in Salinas.
We got some rain not sure how much but think Chickie got more than we did this time! Crazy weather!
Glad everyone is having a great weekend....all this painting going on makes me wish I could paint but don't think I better try that. Maybe after it cools off and #5DS gets done with his house Mom can twist his arm to paint her house but first we have to build a new shed before winter sets in.
Well, going sign off for now. Everyone have a great evening!

Re: Sunday July 21, 2013
Good afternoon -
It is late Sunday afternoon and I am finally down in the sewing studio. Boxes everywhere - but I will get them organized and be able to do some sewing in a couple of days.
My furball thinks it is great down here - he hasn't been allowed very often down here and meows at the basement door all the time - he has his window perch now and sprawls over on my desk.
Even though I am in the basement - I still have beautiful views of my mountains to the East, South, and North - my area has two big windows,(4'x4' each) so I am situated in the middle of them. The basement at this point is almost what they call daylighted - meaning more of it is above ground than below. Our property slopes from the front yard down to the back, hence my beautiful views - on both floors. The base of the window is only about a foot below the grass/ground level.
Well it is nice to be here - finally!
Have a great rest of the day
Hugs

Hello Chris
Yes I sale those quilts. This one is already the fourth quilt she bought. She always wants a matching set. When I am finish with that one she wants two for fall....I also sale the Christmas projects I make.
I didn't have time to log in today earlier because my deadline is Friday for that quilt. But now it's getting dark so I stop. Thanks for the info. I will keep checking on the swap. Everyone have a good night
