Good morning!

It is barely 8 a.m. here and everyone is so busy!

Ethan arrived early this morning and has been playing in our bed - he is up now and wants food - opens mouth and informs me - numm a numms! LOL

We did find all the furniture that we were looking for last night - new sofas, chairs and tables. Also found out that this company can get my appliances I want - my Jenn-air stove and my Fisher Paykel dishdrawers. They have been very hard to find here in the SLC valley. So the new furniture will be delivered on the 26th - we have to wait that long because of the holiday on the 24th and Matt will be off that Friday so he and Stu can move the old stuff to the basement family area. I laugh - in California, it went to the garage, then the landfill - now it's the basement. We also found the freezer - but need to find a couple of other things that will go in the laundry room as well - so the size of the freezer matters. The one I want comes with a gift card of $100 to Schwan's - wonder if the guy here is as cute as what I have heard? LOL

Now that I have cracked open the checkbook, we are getting a couple of temporary tables for the sewing area, until my cabinets arrive. We have found a custom cabinet maker for the kitchen, so he may make the basement sewing area as well, also at the same time.

DS4 tried to get the totaled car home from the storage yard, so that he can sell it to the pick and pull place, but he can't find the title and now has to store it in his yard until the title arrives from DMV. The car was a beater car and he had no collision insurance on it - hence storing it at home is cheaper. Kids - that is why we have gray hair! LOL

Wish that all of you lived closer to me - I would love to teach you how to put in zippers - they are a piece of cake - my favorite and the easiest to put in are the invisible ones - I can do one in about 5 minutes - quick and easy! Besides, we could find a lot of trouble too! LOL

Well need to scoot - uglies need attention and so does some breakfast - oh yes, the furniture - sofas are a light -light tan, with paisley high leg recliners - they don't look like recliners, but like an occasional chairs - goldy browns with a undertone of reds. The store had a special too - buy a bunch of furniture and get a motorized snow cone maker! LOL

Have a great day!
Hugs
Jana

Good morning :o) I've hit and missed on the reading the last couple of days.....you all have been busy! :o) DS stayed the night and then he was helping me with the hookups for our VCR/DVD player that has been disconnected since Christmas so we couldn't watch all our Dusney movies or Christmas ones that we have on VHS.....he had to leave before we finished but then I got down on the floor and messed around and got it to work by undoing our Wii so text him and then called him and he walked me through hooking it back up so now we have it all working! Jaz will be so happy, she's been wanting to watch VHS movies for months! We really had a good time with the day and a bit that DS stayed :o) DD and Jaz came over for the 1st day, soooooo nice :o) Thia mom was sure a happy camper :o)
We've been getting some very nice rain :o) but shhhhhh don't say it too loudly cause I don't want to scare it away. ;o) Our high yesterday was 69* What a change! So welcomed too! DD and Jaz are coming over today so I need to get my things done so we can do something fun......maybe make more Christmas ornaments LOL
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.

Good morning all,

Just checking in....here at work wishing I was home in the bed! I am in a blah kinda mood today. Kids....'nuff said!

Didn't do much yesterday...went home and took a little nap...woke up with a start thinking that it was morning. Panicked because I thought I had overslept and was going to be late for work. I hate waking up like that! LOL Anyway, I got up, ate a bite of dinner and then made my way upstairs to work on my guild blocks. Only got one done last night. Hope to get another one done tonight. I have got to finish up so that I can finish up my cabin blocks.

Well, back to work for me. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the day.

Hugs,
Mel

Good afternoon from steamy, HOT Kansas! I’d sure like to have some of that cool weather from New Mexico! And, some of the rain!!! We have ZERO chances of rain today and tonight. I was up early watering. The tires I ordered were delivered, and DH took them over to DS1’s and left them in his shop along with my wheels for mounting. I have blackberries thawing and will make DS1 a cobbler or pie in exchange for the tires mounting.

I made Izzy’s zucchini jam and substituted yellow squash for the zucchini. It’s delicious! DH took some to coffee and tried to get the guys to try it without knowing what it was. No brave souls! He had Ritz crackers and butter along with the jam. What chickens!!! Even knowing what it was, several wouldn’t even taste it.

I think pizza tonight would be wonderful!!! Maybe that’s what I’ll make, too.

Sorry I’m not staying to chat, but the floors call me. I might get to my sewing room if I get a move on…

Have a great afternoon and STAY COOL!

Hi...

The furniture business is all done for today. I'm not going to work on a backing. I found the QIAD flying geese ruler someone gave me. I've never used it so I'll try it out.

Gabriele....how strange the weather in our country...heat wave here & chilly there. I'm running around in a long thin cotton shirt.

Chriss...happy vacation dance!!! I have hot water, just push the red button on the furnase & voula!! The recliner will be here in 6 weeks I'll be plenty ready for a rest! I love painting I'll help.

Velda...we always know when one of us is missing. Sounds like you had a wonderful visit. Happy Anniversary.

Maryq...all the OT you want???? Will that leave any sewing time? It will leave plenty of fabric $$$. It must be hot in Houston.

Maryz.....so sorry your LazyBoy didn't work for you this will be my third. Yes, my DD did tell me of the rain & low temps. It not often I'm hotter than her. Sara lives in SW Austin. South of your DD.

ScrapyPat...NO!!!fabric?? Well sounds like a very nice day anyway.

Karlene.....I'm not big on bugs either...I think there are hornets under the back steps. Good thing I leave by the garage all the time. Happy to hear the hair treatments are working for you. My DD2 is so upset she losing so much hair. I'm not surprised what with all the med's she been taking. I'm like you Mom & her dishes. I'm always looking for TransferWare anything.

Carole...safe travel

Sharona....only 30% chance of thunderstorms. DD is doing so much better & looking forward to weaning of some of the med's. Congrats on your new van...you need to go when you step on the gas.

Jana....LOl....I remember that word 'Numm Numm'!! Happy to hear you found all your furniture.

bbl......

Suz - the retreat in November sounds like fun. Not as fun as the Houston Int'l. Quilt Festival but a heck of a lot closer! BOING BOING 3.5 Months until the Houston show.

Lois - make some good memories with those grandkids. I've never been to a quilting retreat but Sue,Vicki and I have our sew-ins from Friday night until Sunday afternoon and we have a lot of fun at those.

Lori - sorry about your iron. How old was it?

Judi - hope you get to your Dresden Plate today. Mine's just sitting there because I keep working on hand applique and I need to get the border pieced and attached to the RV quilt. I did order the backing for that quilt last night.

Kathy - I agree with you - that quilting chair is the most important piece of furniture in the house!!! I wish it was cooler for you.

Gabriele - how'd you get so lucky to be running around in a jacket while everyone else is close to heat stroke? Lucky you. I can't wait 'til November.

Chriss - shame on your daddy for traumatizing you like that!!!! LOL LOL LOL. My new iron isn't new anymore but I can happily say it has lasted me for about two years now. It never spits or leaks, gets really hot, and it's heavy so you don't even have to press down. It's a DiLonghi 300P and well worth the money. I'm so glad I bit the bullet and got one.

Last night I fixed dinner and folded a dryer full of whites and got another load started then I shopped on line for backing fabric for the RV quilt. Also talked with Vicki on the phone so we could decide which Sampler class we will go to at the quilt show. Today I'll go home and fix dinner, get another load out of the dryer, get the house ready for the cleaning lady and (hopefully) get in my sewing room and work on that RV quilt. In other words.....it's the same old same old.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Maryz - depends on where the sew-in is. I set up a banquet table in my living room the last time it was at my house so Vicki and Sew sewed on that and I was just on the love seat doing hand applique. My house is so little but where there's a will there's a way. When we go to Sue's she sets Vicki up on the table in her sewing room near the closet, Sue sews on her machine on her SewEZ table and I take my SewEZ table and set it up between the french doors and the bathroom door. When we go to Vicki's Sue and I can set up at the dining table but this time I'm going to take a quilt to quilt so I won't even be in the same part of the house as Vicki and Sue until break time.

Good late afternoon from still hot, semi sunny, SW. Pa....I did hear some rumbles so maybe we'll get our 10 minute shower and then no watering again for me......

Boy, have I had a couple of days....We went to the mountains yesterday...A friend has a place not too far from Seven Springs and we rode him up...He stayed and a son will bring him back this weekend...But, it was great, we walked in the woods, sat and watched his hummingbirds as they put on their show...He has 5 feeders up and there were 4 and 5 birds at each of these feeders all the time...I'm sure if he lived up there, he would have them trained and sitting on his hands.....He made us a huge lunch and sent a lot home with us along with mint plants, ferns and day lilies.....
And today, I went to a "Champagne and Strawberry" luncheon...The food was delish, the wine was delish and the company was great....Just a purrrrfect day!

Chickie, Reading about you taking flowers to your Mom really brought back memories...When my Mom was in the nursing home and up until her passing, I visited every other day and on my way, if I didn't have flowers in my garden, I'd stop at the greenhouse and get her 3 carnations....Each time, the gals would pick out 3 different colors and then add some babies breath...She just loved getting her flowers...When she passed, the girls at the greenhouse sent an arrangement to the funeral home, made mostly of carnations....I can still see her smile when I walked in with those flowers.....

Karlene, Your Mom is one smart lady...She knows how to shop and then smuggle them in the house...I normally keep things in the trunk until Jim goes to bed...Lately I've had a problem (obsession) with buying plants and it's getting harder and harder to keep them hidden, lol....I went and had my hair cut real short, just last week...It was getting way too long and curly...I'm very fortunate to have lots but not a good idea to go around looking like a mushroom, so off it came.....

Chriss, are you packed yet? So happy for you being able to actually have a vacation.....I love the idea of wood or laminate floors...I wish I could talk Jim into it but he likes carpeting....You know with all the talk about painting, I'm starting to get the "itch"...I just might have to do some real thinking.....

Maryz, I laughed when you had asked about us having mountains...Of course we have mountains and some very good skiing can be found in Pa...You really do have to come this way.....

Jana, I love when people buy new furniture...When are we going to see some pictures.....I'm anxious to see if your Schwann man is a hunk....I have noticed the truck in our area lately and I might just break down and give them a call....They really do have some great food and I'm sure most of the fellows look like models..lol....

Well, now that I've written my novel, I'd best get moving.....I had a call from church and found out I have 3 weddings coming up...So, now to get with the organist and see what's what........

You all have a great rest of the day......................

Sorry I haven't checked in today. I got myself involved in a book.
It is now finished and hopeful now that I got my summer book out of my system I can go back to Kim's quilt.

We have had upper 90's all week but tonight we got a thunderstorm and it cooled it off some.

My husband is very sick from the heat, Caleb is not feeling well either (strep throat) It's not been a very fun place to be the last two days.

Oh, I also went to lunch with a friend and then we went to Joann's and I bought the black background fabric for the Sylvia's Bridal Samper :-)

I'm of to see what beautiful quilts I can see on Pinterest!

Vicky
