Good morning!

Long time no see.I have to confess that I have been lurking, watching your comings and goings. Sending get well wishes to all and congratulating all the new grandmas to be.

Chickie, love all your pics.

Jackie, sending you a big hug.

izzy, I love a good tearjerker but not in front of my dh...he laughs at me.

Kathy, I'd like to try those New Balance shoes. I bought some Easy Spirit shoes and I love 'em. I'm a diabetic and must have some neuropathy.

Teresa, I love the July lotto block...my last quilt was the "double slice". It's on my bed now.

Judi, glad you're coming along.

The rest of you ladies just tire me out just reading about your activities.

I've been in low gear. DH is recovering very well from prostate surgery 3/20. I've had babysitting duties off and on, not too much just enough to have fun with the grands and getting to know them better. They are all too funny and smart. The oldest DGD is teaching DH how to play videogames (Baseball). She must think we're dorks when it comes to electronics...she's eleven!

I've joined an embroidery club at my LQS and loving it. We meet once a month for three hours. One of the ladies invited me to a quilters group at the Murrieta Senior Center. We get together every wed. 9-12.
It's fun to see what everyone is dabbling in, knitters and crocheters are also invited. These are some very talented ladies...they are an inpiration.

Okay, I've got you all beat. We are supposed to reach 108 degrees today and 114 tomorrow. You'll find DH and I in the pool or inside with the AC cranked up.

Wishing you all a terrific day!

Lucie

OK here I am,,,I did get the grocery shopping done. after I was stuck at the railroad crossing for 20 minutes,,,I decided to go the "other way" train there too another 15 minutes...I went to a different town a different way AND FINALLY MADE IT TO THE STORE. then it was crowded today (being friday before a holiday) so I finally got home , put the groceries away...got into my dirty gardening clothes and BOOM! thunder and lightening and more rain. So no weeding....I am thinking I should let the weeds go and build an ark. well what is a girl to do......I think I will try a second Dresden Plate block.....oh shucks I have to sew instead of weed. what bad luck I say with tongue in cheek. Hello!!! I'm back!

Shoe shopping was a big success. DD found 2 pair & so did I. One pair of mine is all day-glow colors. So bright & colorful plus I got a bunch of bright colored socks. Not like me at all.

I am so sorry Izzy I think I never welcome you. My head has been too full of things. So Welcome...as you know this is a wonderful group!!

Cindy...sorry about all that heat & no rain. Yes I knew about the numbers on New Balance. My colorful sneakers have no number. But their all about the color!

Maryz...DD can't go to my house. As you guessed Drs & insurance. Your Alaska quilt is beautiful & LOOKS GREAT ON THE BED.

Good afternoon from rainy, soggy, warm, SW. Pa....It's been raining most of the day and there's sure no weeding going on here......

But, the rain has made a somber day even more so...Our next door neighbor passed away during the night...She's the one who has been battling lung cancer for 3 years...Her DH and DS just stopped over....Seeing the grandkids out playing yesterday I decided to bake cookies..When I took them over, I told their DD, they needed more sugar...They are such a close knit family and it's going to be tough..And then Jim had a call from a cousin, another cousin had been found dead in bed...They say, it comes in 3s, who knows who else....

Not doing too much in the way of uglies but did do a little laundry...All the things that get hung out will wait for a sunny day....

Chickie, I love, love all the flowers you have planted....As Mary said, we need to see all the sides of your home...I see in one of the pictures, you have 1 of those squiggly hoses..Boy, they are much better than trying to drag out the big hose, aren't they...BUT, I got Jim one of those new pocket hoses and boy is that thing neat...He needed a longer one to use for the garden and this thing is perfect......

Chriss, you being on vacation next week, you might miss some good food....Boy, I remember those days...It didn't take much for someone to bring in food and we'd party.....

I just had a call from the "Meals for Moms" lady and we have 2 new moms to cook for next week...I told her I'd make desert, probably that éclair pudding thingie....I also told her I have a huge bag of baby quilts and she can start giving the mom a quilt...I should make up some of those cloth books in case they have a toddler....It's a fun mission.....

Well, I'd better check the dryer, seems to be calling my name.....

You all have a great day................

I'm done with Jaz's quilt! She's here so it's hidden away, I finished it about 2 minutes before they came over.
Have a great day!

Good afternoon! This is a quick check in
 I was up watering early
Yep! NO rain here last night!!! I watched our chances go to 30%, then 80%, then suddenly 0%. After watering, I picked blackberries for a few hours until DH came home for brunch. He left to work on a rental, and I went back out to the berries. I’m trying to cool down so my cool shower will be beneficial. We are at 94 degrees (indexed to 97). It is a lot of work for so few little berries
If DH didn’t LOVE everything blackberry, I wouldn’t bother
 but, he’s a good guy
Odie, Tinker Bell and Rennie (from across the road) “helped” me with the berries. Every job needs three supervisors!!! At least they are company.

I'll be checking my recipes and making blackberry jam for DH. It doesn't last long here!

Thank you for your comments on my flowers. More is more and more is better with flowers as far as I’m concerned. I love color! My garden is as scrappy and variegated as my quilts.

I’ll try to check back later
I really do NEED a shower!!!

Irish—I hope you have better luck with the pocket hoses than we did. You have to treat them with kid gloves—lift and carry
no pulling! The squiggly one is pretty neat but I also have to be careful and not get it tangled—remember the spiral phone cords? ‘Nuff said!!!

Kathy—I would LOVE your new sneakers!!! What brand are they?

Izzy—a lady I used to know had a beautiful antique tea pot collection. I enjoyed going to visit her and seeing them. I often wondered if her daughter cared about them after my friend passed.

Off to the shower!!!

Ok, I'm home from work. It is 105* out so I will turn on the water for the flowers, but the weeding will wait for tomorrow.

Maryq I would spray the weeds with roundup, but every time I start to spray the wind comes up. I don't want to kill my flowers, so I pull the weeds. Some day The yard will get finished so I won't have so many to deal with.

Later
