Good morning all.

Thank you so much for all of the wonderful birthday wishes! My, how time flies. Seems like I just had a birthday a couple of months ago! Nothing special on the docket for today. DS#2 and DGS will be stopping by later today. DS#3 and his GF will be coming by tomorrow.

I plan on getting up to the sewing room today. Eventually.....!

Teresa, hope you were able to get some rest with Rob being gone. I hate being home alone, especially out in the boonies where we live. I hope you have a splendiferous birthday.

Well, I think I will go and take a nice hot shower and then make my way upstairs.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day.

Hugs,
Mel

Evening all :) its almost 7pm here and the sun is still shining :)

Teresa and Mel - wishing you both a very happy birthday, was thinking of you both while I was out at little Poppies 1st birthday party, we had a BBQ outside in the most glorious sunshine and I am home now and absolutely shattered. I sat out in the sun for a bit to get me some Vit D, but I think the sun has drained me of energy, or maybe it was playing with kids/toddlers all day :)

For all the rest of you I hoped are all having a glorious weekend, however you choose to spend it, lots of love and prayers to you all xxxxx

Good afternoon from sunny but chilly, SW. Pa...We had another semi frost last night but from now on, temps are climbing and will be in the high 80s, low 90s by the weekend.....See we go from Fall to summer, real quick!

Happy, Happy Birthday, Mel and Teresa, and many, many more....Be sure to eat lots of cake......

We went to early Mass and then onto breakfast with our friends...What a purrrfect way to start the day...Then I talked Jim into going to Home Depot for mulch and while he wasn't looking, I filled the buggy with red and white begonias and more red and white geraniums...If I had my way, every nook and cranny in the yard would be filled with flowers.....We're staying home today and will be going to #3DS's tomorrow for a cookout....

Chickie, I thought of you as I was wondering through all the plants and flowers at Home Depot...Be sure to take more pictures of your yard....

Suzette, One year we were in your area and got to see the "Rolling Thunder" It is amazing....My #3 DS rides a Harley and often will go on special rides with other bikers...It is something to see..And if you're ever at a truck stop with a bunch of these bikers, you won't find a better, nicer bunch of fellows.....Love the pictures.....

Jim is watching the Pirates (with his eyes closed) and I going to pick up my book and see how long I can stay awake.....Those "cat naps" are rubbing off on me.....

You all have a great day...............

Hello....

I did spend the day sewing. When I started it was like my head was full of cotton fluff.....making so many rookie mistakes. I just pushed on & it worked it's self out. It's a 'Seminole' boarder. Should be all done tonight & I'll sew them on tomorrow, I still need to make the cornor blocks.

I need to make a ride to my mail box. After days of rain & very chilly temps the sun is out. I wonder how long it will stay? Things should grow like crazy. My tomato plants are about 6"....grow plants grow!!

I am finally coming out of the fog enough to start to get bored and wish I could do some quilting. I don't do handwork, so I couldn't really prepare any. I would probably make a mess of anything at this point anyway. Nine hours without a pain med. Yeah....I did finally have to break down and take one because DD was taking me out to walk. Should have done it a little earlier. This walk was not as much fun as this mornings. Swelling is really going down and bruises are improving. Those of you who have had a knee replacement, were you bruised from head to toe? I guess they really have you strapped down to prevent any movement, but I have horrible bruises on my ankles, breasts, down my rib cage, the front of my shin, etc. Right now, the biggest issue is the itching of the steristrips, like I'm covered with poison ivy. Guess I am a little allergic to it. I thought it was the incision, but that is just a couple of places, most of it is the edges of the tape. Maybe another week or so and I will get them to dissolve.

Sounds like my father in law's funeral went well. DD said DH did get a little choked up of course, but everyone behaved, flowers I ordered from here were beautiful, they played taps, I guess as nice as it could be. One niece said the ladies at her work did not understand why she wasn't more upset. She tried to explain that while she loved her grandpa, it was a relief for him to finally be out of his pain and misery. We all thoroughly understood. He and Helen are probably fussing with each other in heaven today.
