CaroleJ-I am sure the quilt will be cherished by your young friend, and her family. One of my daughters has a friend who lost both of her parents, her dad when she was 11 and her mom at 12, I know Caressa would have been touched by a quilt. I sewed all of her costumes for her theater productions after her Mom passed away (now Julia helps sew for her) It is difficult but having an extended network of adults to turn to will help.

Q7 not sure how many copies were available, but it took over 6 weeks to get it!
Carolyn, that is an awesome accomplishment!
Yeah, Vicky, where are your children??? I only had three, but no one in their right mind would take them all at once! lol!
JW, I'm sure that I asked before, but where are you stationed?? Was it OK??? So sorry to hear your mom passed away, glad you still have grandma! And she's a quilter! How awesome for you!
Well, NOW I will go to the sewing room! lol!

Quilter7-Size 10s. She didn't give a particular brand, but did tell me some of the ones I had are bad(bought them when I was just starting and didn't know what I was doing) I ended up getting some John James needles from the LQS and they are working so much better than even the J & P Coats ones I had.

Chriss-I don't get near as much done as I want, but thankfully my kids are what my grandma calls "easy kids" they don't need or even want alot of attention. At least they don't push me away when I try to talk to them, otherwise I think I would feel like a very bad mom!

Joanne-Yeah, were in OK. Ft. Sill. DH has been here for almost 9 yrs, and we got married 6 yrs. ago. I think I would be totally lost if I didn't have my grandma to call:) She's a really great woman, she's always doing stuff for others. I'm a 4th generation quilter:) My mom quilted, my grandma quilts and her grandmother quilted(her mom didn't) and both of my grandma's sisters quilt. It just seemed natural for me to pick it up:)

My spelling stinks

Morning Everyone

I am going to play with my new machine today. DD and SIL came over yesterday and we went out to dinner last night. Mom didn't want to go so it was just the four of us and it was very nice. SIL always bring me at least one item that needs to be repaired when he comes so I will get that done first.

CaroleJ - I think that is a wonderful idea - way to go

Momof6 - do we have to worry about where your kids are??????

JW and Chriss - have a great breakfast, perfect start to the day

Maryq - how fun playing princess

Cindyg - it is a blast seeing all the cool stuff at the RV show

Happy Valentine's Day to all my friends. So glad we did the dinner thing last night, as I woke up today with a stuffy head and sore throat. Guess I'll have to stay in and sew, Oh heck.

I haven't read all the posts yet, will do that now.

JW - I too like the John James quilting needles. I think I also use a size 10.

Sandy how was your class for your machine? I bought plenty of thread last night and will work a little on mine before I go to work tonight so that I can say I did something.
600-700 pins later my king size quilt is pinned. Whew what a job. I think that quilting will actually be the easy part after that LOL.
I think I will do a little knitting while my DD (Becca) is in the tub. I won't go downstairs while she is in the tub. Even with her being 8 it still scares me because anything can happen. So I will sit on my bottom on my chair in my bedroom and relax a little. That actually sounds pretty good to me.

Ok Everyone who can make it to my house can go to Florida with me...DH just laughed when I told him I invited everyone...He went out to shovel snow. Mail came WOO HOO I got my BOM and it is adorable...going to go through my novelty fabric to see what I can come up with..I love Pina Coladas too. I might have to lurk in the Swap section and see how things work...Remember I came in to this forum before the "doo doo hit the ocilator"..and I'm leary of joining . I'll think about it and look into something when I get back from Florida....I am not sure if I will be able to talk to you I still don't know about the thingy that let's your computer be wireless....DH says we don't have it but that was all he said...Of course when I go down to my Parents house I will check in and my sis might have wireless...so many questions.well I need to go look into this block....bbl

I am making plans to make something on Etsy at this point. I have set up an account and am giving this some thought. I may make a purse like the last one I did and see what happens.
I still do sample work for my LQS and she is actually giving me a little more to do and would actually like me to teach a quilting class (that sounds scary to me). I have one quilt to piece for her now and it is going to be so cute. I just need to get this king size one done for a customer. It has been haunting me for a while and needs to be finished.
My ideal job is to stay in my house and sew for others. I truly have missed my calling. It surely isn't accounting but that pays the bills.
