Re: Sunday January 11th
80 degrees!!! That is just wrong.
We went out to breakfast this morning and off to get a new faucet for the kitchen. The old is loose and wobbly and it is hard to find just the right spot to get hot water. DH looked at it last weekend and decided it had to be replaced so I will have a shiny new faucet. Yea!!!!
Got my pillowcases all finished so I need to get them packaged and ready to mail on Monday. I have my pinwheel quilt ready to quilt, but it is a nap kind of day so don't know if I will get to it or not.
Everyone have a great day

Re: Sunday January 11th
Well dang it I have to go to town to get some more pink embroidery floss so I can finish tieing this baby quilt... town is 30 miles away... ugh....then my grandmother called... she needs groceries and doesn't drive she is 86..... so I will get her groceries too.... she lives next door to me we share a driveway... it isn't far to walk between our houses but because I am not over there daily when ever she calls me she says hello stranger... drives me nuts... so I need you all to promise me something......in about 40 years when we are all sitting here chatting and sharing and venting that you remind me of this and make sure I don't do this to my grandkids.... I just hate guilt trips....
Ok, done complaining... gotta get to shopping... maybe I will buy me a fat quarter or something...

Hey Chriss - pick up some things for me too while you're at it ok? lol
Sounds like everybody is enjoying their Sundays so far. Church was great! DD, SIL and the LUCAS came to our church today!! What a pleasant surprise. Not sure why - they just called us and told us to save them a seat. Too cool! They usually go to the church that SIL grew up in with his family and then join us for lunch.
Then went to the Mexican restaurant next door to the church and had lunch. Got home around 2ish. DH is now watching the Philadelphia and New York game. I think I need to sew, lol.
So - what about doing a Summer Porch in 30's prints? Sound ok? I've got a stack of them and want to make a quilt with them but haven't settled on a pattern yet. May look through a book of 30's quilts that a friend sent me too.
And nooooooooo - I did NOT try to smuggle Lucas home in my purse but I DID get to tote him around at church and show him off, lol!

Re: Sunday January 11th
I just finished my first URR block. I was putting it off cause I thought it'd be hard to do. Was that ever a nice surprise that it came together the very first time!! And it even measured correctly. I was going to run to town to get the rest of the backgrounds that I need, but it's too cold outside.
We always put cracked corn out for the birds and a few minutes ago, a female turkey was out there eating away. She stayed for about 10 minutes.........wonder when she'll bring her friends back?

Re: Sunday January 11th
Just checking in, sounds like a mighty cold or wet day for most of you. It is 63 degrees here, lots of sunshine and hardly any wind. DH is out working in the yard and I have been a bum since getting up. I don't get to do that very often and it has been wonderful! I have laundry to do today so between loads I will be checking in and playing with my HQ. I still need to find a name for her...any ideas? I think I may cut out my UGRR block. I still need to put together a UFO list but that is a scary thought in itself.
We, did you leave any fabric in the shop? It sounds as if I may have to wait until the new shipment comes in to go do any myself. LOL Glad you had a wonderful time.
Hope everyone else has a great afternoon. Happy stitching!! Debi

Hey We - I'm thinking you should ship that fabric to me for ummmmmmmm - "inpsection!" Yah, that's it. A fabric inspection. Just what a good sister in stitches would do for you - got to make sure it washes nice, irons nice, cuts nice, sews nice,.... you get the idea. I'll put it through, ummmmmmmmmmmmm "quality control" for you!
Just let me know when the box will be arriving, ok? You don't have to thank me - just glad to help!

Bubbles,
I about fell off my chair laughing.
You are right, quality control is so important! Sometimes we just have to make the sacrifice for our sisters in stitches!! Great idea, count me in if you need an assistant. Debi

Re: Sunday January 11th
Boy did I score big time today.
I have an awesome fully functioning faucet in the kitchen. I have a shelf over the sink and the faucet was just a bit to big for the shelf so DH glued wooden blocks to the legs to make it taller.
Then even better DH fixed my computer, and yes it was something very simple. The computer would boot up, everything looked just fine but I couldn't open any programs. It was very strange. After DH fixed the sink he said, well let me look at it. He changed the mouse and now it works perfectly. How come I never think of something like that????
I learned my lesson and I will back up all my documents. I keep all the emails between me and my daughter as a kind of journal. It reminds me of what was going on at certain times in your life. I don't know about you guys, but my memory sucks. I would have hated to lose all that.
Anyway I am a happy camper. Even got some quilting done, I think we have earned a nap.
I think some quality control for all that fabric is an excellent idea....
