gmann is thinking the same thing I am - I would probably just do it in the 4 pieces, you fold your end edges in to give it a nice finish

After seeing the fabric Carolyn - I don't think it will really matter since such a small amount will actually be showing

PS - It will be a beautiful quilt when you are done :o)

I think you ladies have solved it doing it in 4 pieces and folding it would be easier then seams at the corner. I laid it out with a bias cut piece and didn't like it because it was visually distracting I don't like doing binding so I was probably making it harder then it needed to be

I guess it depends on how much of a perfectionist you are, Carolyn! Since the wheat is going both ways in the body of the quilt, I don't think it would matter if it goes both ways in the binding. My bindings are only 1/4" wide, so they hardly show - if you do a wider binding, it might make a difference, but I doubt it!

It's a BEAUTIFUL quilt!!

hmm maybe a thinner binding is the real answer. to do a 1/4 inch binding how wide do I cut it to start 1" or 1.5"?

I usually cut my binding 2 1/4 to 2 1/2" anything smaller and you will not have enough fabric to go around to the back of your quilt
