Re: Wednesday December 10, 2025
Good afternoon. It's been a busy morning. and It's going to be a beautiful rest of the day.
I must go grocery shopping today. If I don't go, I won't starve but it's going to be busy for me the rest of the week and through the weekend.
The person from Home Depot came to measure my windows. I have 10 plus a sliding glass door being replaced. I do have a window above a bathtub that is long and skinny. The first guy thought it was not wide enough to be made but this guy said it is just wide enough. They will send me a quote on that one window; I've already paid for the 9 plus slider. They said maybe 8 to 10 weeks. I am just so excited.
The parents will be here tomorrow, and Dad will put that shelf in for my microwave then he will address my windowsills. Some need replacing before the windows go in.
Lyn, I pray you get the insurance and the hospital on the same page. Garry is so blessed to have you fighting for him when he can't. I am sorry the both of you are going through this, It's a difficult situation and God has given you the strength you need to get through it. Perhaps God is using this as a teaching moment for your daughters, so they will know what needs to be done if they are faced with this kind of situation. Or maybe there is someone who will be touched by you and Garry somehow. I don't know and I wondered the same thing. Then I just prayed that God take him peacefully when the time came and God was ready for him. The one thing I really wish I had done but didn't do was accept help. I care about you Lyn, and am sending my heartfelt prayers for both you and Garry. And don't worry about me and Lori, we will go to Judi's house in the fall when she cooks comfort food, we can pick you up on the way.
Judi, anytime I read that your temps are just way too cold I think of the song The weather outside is frightful. Breakfast for dinner sounds good. You go for it you wild appliqueing woman. It's going to be a show stopper.
Lois, glad the cookies came out good. baking always makes a house smell good, as long as it's not me doing the baking. ha ha. hope the doctor appointment goes well.
Jana, I hope the car gets fixed and the cookies get baked. I am not sure where the nearest fabric store near me is. HL doesn't have much of a selection. And the next biggest town that might have something is almost 2 hours from here (Modesto or Fresno). While I know I can make curtains I am going to let Amazon do it for me. I bought my dining room curtains from Amazon and am quite happy with them.
Maryq, I want to come to your tea tomorrow. What a fun time you will all have. Yes, I've had my furnace on for weeks. It gets below 40 over night and only gets to maybe 45-50 during the day. They're telling me I should see mid 50's next week but I'm not believing it. I set the furnace to 65 during the night and sleep under two quilts. I'm also trying to avoid mini blinds or any other kind of blind. I'd do the same as you if I won the lottery, but no remote. My ceiling fans each have a remote, thankfully I'm the only one who lives here or the remote would get lost someplace.
Lori, I'm not sure I will see 80* any time soon. We are in a fog here. Yes, it's good to have warm toes. Hope you are at least half way through your todo list.
Maryz, woo hoo, if you're reading this you're either still waiting on therapy or you're comfortable in your recliner, I'm hoping for the latter.
Valerie, if you can read this call customer service at qiad and have them reset you. They might be able to reset you if you email and ask too.
So, I guess that means that I have to get moving and go grocery shopping. Yay me. Hope you girls have a peaceful day

Chriss and MaryQ, Since Jana has made so many window covering, I think y'all should send her your measurements and color choices. Jana made it sound like she enjoyed making them!! Y'all don't want to deprive Jana of some enjoyment, do you?
I thank each of you for your kind and loving words. Y'all mean alot to me.
The insurance is worked out. Apparently this hospital is connected on billing to the Round Rock hospital.
Our Canada family asked if Garry woke up, could we do a messenger video call. I did get him to wake up and we talked to them about 2 1/2 minutes. Then I text his sister and he was able to say Hi on a video call, but started to fade at 3 minutes.
MaryZ, I hope you are home resting.

I'm here! Back home again in my not-as-comfy-as-it-used-feel lounge chair. Everything went smoothly, and I got to stay in the hospital overnight which helped 1,000%. We just got back home about 1.5 hrs ago. I'm sore and need help moving around to get to my walker, but otherwise I'm doing well! Haven't read today's or yeterdays' thread because I didn't have internet connection at the hospital. I will try to catch up as I can. Right now - I's in need of a nap!

Maryz, good to hear from you. Everything must have went well if you are home already. I'm sure you'll be taking a lot of naps in the next few weeks.

Lyn, great news. So glad the insurance stuff is worked out. And glad Garry got to talk to your friends and family for a few minutes. That must have been good for everyone. Yes, I'd love Jana to make my curtains, wouldnt' that be fun. She could start at MQ's house and work her way here. Hope tomorrow is very successful and that you accomplish everything you set out to do.
Maryz, I know how important sleep is after surgery. I hope you sleep like a rock and that you find it easier each day to move that hip. I'm glad Bill is there to help you out. Like I tell Lori with Jack, give him a belly rub and ear fluff for me.
