Re: Monday September 15,2025
Mary to be honest I don't know what the problem is. When I talked to the doctor office this morning they told me they are waiting on the insurance approval which someone else said was done. The girl I talked to on Friday said they just didn't have an earlier appointment. So for now I am out of ideas. I have classes and free sews scheduled but I think I will cancel for now. All ideas appreciated!

Re: Monday September 15,2025
Good morning.
Today is piddle around the house day. I need to start clearing my countertops so they can come measure. I might just also run a dust rag around this house.
Tomorrow I go see my surgeon for a follow up. I have to say, I feel great and am not in any pain. I do have small aches but nothing I feel worried about. I also have to take him a chest xray. I am looking forward to seeing how my sternum looks all wired shut.
Lori, I think it's great that you have no deadline in cleaning out the cupboards and drawers. Nice to not be rushed. I'm sure your parents have stored many things in that house over the years. Does it have an attic or basement? I like that Independence pattern, have you bought it yet?
Flo, will DGD get to write in the cement? you will be quite busy today.
Lois, seems like a lot of stores fall into the TJ Maxx / Marshalls category. Our JC Penny and Kohls are starting to head in that direction. Just a huge mess. And they both have that perfume department that stinks up the whole store. Hope you get the Grace people to help you with that machine.
Diane, I also am not a group shopper. I will go with friends to thrift stores but if I am looking for a specific something I'd rather do it myself. I don't like to feel rushed or wait on others to hurry up. Boy, am I ever an agreeable person.
Maryz, Sounds like yesterday was very relaxing. Hoping the chiro appointment helps, always good to be put back into shape. Dad painted the chair white with blue trim, it's how he remembers it as a kid. We can date the chair back to about 1911, there is a picture of my grandmother born in 1910 standing next to the chair it was painted black. Then it was painted white with blue accents when my dad had it, and when I sat in it it was painted yellow. Dad gave me the paint so I could touch up where he messed up. I told him we would blame any painting errors on the age of the chair, not the age of the painter.
Jana, sports make kids hungry and tired. Happy fall, I love the smell of rain, hope you enjoy yours.
Valerie, that's a lot of cleaning. He must not have been feeling good for a very long time. I'd call the doctors office daily to see if there are any cancellations. They will either squeeze you in or decide you are a pest and can keep your original appointment.
Lyn, sorry about the trail ride and the boiler. And yes, sorry about the taco seasoning. But taquitos sound wonderful. Jerry used to make them all the time.
Maryq, the pizza was wonderful. it was dinner and then breakfast and now it's gone. I also started typing this a long time ago. Since then I've had phone calls, texts and some furry creature who insists on sleeping on my feet needed to go out for a walk. I also turn the a/c on in the afternoon. If the temp outside goes above 80 it is time to close windows and cool off. Then I have a box fan that blows right on me. I recline in my recliner, put a quilt over my legs and take a nap.
Guess I should get something to eat. After my appointment tomorrow I want to go grocery shopping. Guess I will make a list. You all have a fun day,
Chriss

Re: Monday September 15,2025
Surprise, surprise, surprise! After "talking" to MaryZ, I thought, I've been missing so much and need to get back and get with it.....I had been trying to check on you gals but thank goodness Mary filled me in.....So, so sorry to hear about all the "hurts" and "ills" but it also sounds like you all are troupers and fighting back....Also, do thank Mary for her prayers for my sister...As she said, she's really an instigator, always ready to go even though she's not feeling up to par...But, she too, will bounce back....And even though my sister has never been on the forum, nor does she sew, (I get to do her hemming and mending), she does hear alot about quilting and what everyone is doing.....
Mary's Seahawks did beat the stuffing out of our Steelers but wait till next time!
I really haven't been doing much in the way of quilting but do have quite a few asking for hemming, pants, skirts and even curtains...I do draw the line, no altering....But, hopefully, this winter, I'll get back....I do have 2 gals who want to learn, one wants to make a Tshirt quilt and the other a baby quilt, so it will be fun.....
Today, is kind of an off day, filled the dishwasher and did some laundry....So far, no calls to pick up supplies for a job...Oh the neighbors are getting the biggest kick out of me driving a big truck and I kind of like it, makes me feel like a "big girl".....
I agree with most of you on the shopping....Haven't been to our Mall for years and it seems like a chore just to walk through the stores...Now Hobby Lobby or thrift stores, that's different!
Not sure what's on the menu for tonight, could be left overs or maybe someone will call and offer to bring something home.......
Will double up on the prayers for you all and of course, hope Scottie is feeling better...
Today would have been our Cindy's birthday, she's been gone for 6 years and I still miss her and those daily phone calls.....She always ended them by saying....
You have a good rest of the day..................

Flo, your going to have a nice back patio when the mud dries. Will you be putting a cover over it?
Lois, hope you can figure out what's wrong with the machine. Will they come out for service to check it?
Judi, sounds like you have a nice day.
Irish, so good to see you post. Life gets busy sometimes. I would only do alterations for my mom. She taught me how to sew, so I figured I owed her. Big trucks are fun to drive. I drive a Chevy Tahoe and it's a big car.
Chriss, no basement and I haven't looked in the attic. I don't think they put anything up there. No, I haven't ordered it yet but if I keep seeing it I probably will. Don't over do the cleaning. Glad you go see the doctor tomorrow. Will someone be driving you?
Valerie, coming onboard in the middle of things is frustrating. Hope you get some answers soon. Our weather was nice, but went back up today. Supposed to hit 95 tomorrow. Yuck.
Maryq, I had an Amazon return and I had to go to a Whole foods as well. That's a new thing. I think they must have a contract with Amazon now. I bought a few items and the checker asked if I had Amazon Prime for a discount. Why yes I do. I saved $4 on their over price stuff.
Lyn, well that a bummer. Hope this isn't a continued problem with the new boiler. I don't use packaged seasoning for tacos anymore. I found a recipe on line and I have most of the herb they use so I do my own now. It's really easy.
Jana, I bet Tanner is a tired child. Bill used to coach little league and they had about 8 hours of practice a week. Sounds like a good move for Daniel. Is your BP being cooperative these days?
Diane, that's way to early. Hope you can sleep a little longer soon.
Maryz, it's like you just took a nap last night. That happens to me sometimes when I'm really tired. Molly used to sleep like the dead sometimes too. She was so old I would try and wake her and had to really shake her to wake her up. Then I felt bad. She was almost deaf so I think that helped her sleep so soundly. I know what you mean about it seems like they were just a puppy. I was thinking that about my boys just the other day. We've been walking everyday for 9 years. If I buy that pattern I look around and find a good price. I'm still holding out.
I did a few errand today and not much else. Had to close up the house about 1 because summer came back for it's grand finale. It's almost cool enough to open up. I need to make a list of errand for tomorrow. I was going to do them today, but I forgot until it was to late. Oh well. I talked with my DS this evening. It's his birthday. I sent him a couple of packages and he was happy. I miss him. We had cereal for dinner so that was easy.
Sleep well.
