And I'm back for a couple minutes.

DIANE - My brother, Jim, had bladder ca about 2013/14/15. And Albert's was about 2018/19/20. Odd but they had different types of ca. They believe Jim's MIGHT have been caused by environmental factors. He owned a bulldozing business and in the early days, when clearing land, they had big fires to burn stumps, roots, logs, etc. And other things often found their way into the big bonfires. But also, they were doing early nuclear testing off his ship when he was in the Navy (1956-60) and almost every one of his Navy buddies ended up with terrible diseases later in life. So who knows. As for Albert, he was a smoker most of his life and drank a lot of coffee. And he lived in a small old mining town (Mineral, WA). My son, an environmental chemist, analyzed his water (that he made his coffee with!) and found it had like 1000% more arsenic in it than is within safety guidelines. So I've speculated that could possibly be where his cancer come from. But it's all just wild guessing on my part. Jim also had Parkinson's which didn't help his situation any. I know many advances have been made in diagnostics and treatments since my brothers' days. And the treatment you are describing for your hubby isn't what the boys had at all. Both had ileostomies.

I've spent my morning making another NY Beauty block, and I've prepped the pattern and pulled fabrics for the third. I'm excited about this quilt. It's fun, but if I hadn't done FPPing before, there is no way I could do this. Their directions are kind of confusing so mostly I'm just doing my own thing. It takes me about 3 hours to make a block. One a day is about all I can handle for now. I've also got my trailer bathroom cleaned and have pork chops in the crockpot. So, I'm off to find something else to do now.
