Good morning!
It's a wonderful day, all gray, windy, snowing and or raining! And we get another 6 weeks of this! We so need it here! Church is a bit later and I have my big coat and gloves ready.
Happy Birthday to all having your special day! Enjoy it well!
Not much new here. After church, I'll head to the Batt Cave for some sewing time. Sorry to read that some hubby's aren't well. I comeriserate with y'all! And mine follows me around,, we share space in the Batt Cave.
Valerie - we always rented a car to drive back and forth to Utah from Concord. Less wear and tear on our car. Rental companies have all different plans and rules. Watch that you can take the car out of state. Some in California wouldn't. I know you're thinking of bringing the car this way, so check. They do get persnickity. We always added the damage waiver too. At one time, using a certain credit card to rent the vehicle, covered the damage waiver as a perk on our card. Check that too. Oh, and check the sizes of the car. What most of us think a size of vehicle is, the Rental company has a total different view! A full size is a Camry! We liked minivans.
Do fun stuff!
Hugs,
Jana

Re: Sunday, Feb 2
Good morning. It's going to be a balmy day today. My goal is to sew but dad might come and change all that. Im having my coffee. I make 8 cups in my 10 cup coffee maker so each morning, even though I add two heaping scoops, the coffee tastes a little different each day. Today I have made the most wonderful tasting pot of coffee that I wish would last forever.
Last night was my first crab fed, probably my last. While the food was good the noise level was ridiculous. Their sound system wasn't working so the raffle prize numbers couldn't be heard, It really was a fiasco. But they did the best they could with what they had, and they were able to post the raffle numbers on a screen. I won two prizes and gave one to a person who was at my table, took the other home to see if my DIL wants it. It was fun but loud.
Valerie, I don't like the tv on either. I do turn it on for Amazon music, but listen and am not watching. I do the evening news and a few other programs. Jerry was also a tv guy, if he was up the tv was on, he had no other hobbies. We are supposed to get rain on Tuesday as well, I'm just going to wait and see.
Maryz, wonder what the crime scene tape was about. So glad you went through there after the event rather than during. Love your embroidery.
Diane, happy birthday.
Flo, hope you feel better soon, prayers for your son and your DIL's safe travels. I was going to suggest Dayquil, it always has worked for me.
Lois, Hope DH rests a lot and lets you sew.
Maryq, Your gas might be $2.87 but ours is $4.09. Nice of you to donate fabric and for a great cause.
Tina, so glad you had fun with Mary and Bill.
Jana, there you are. I have to say, with all the reports of sick hubbies and them being needy, and not to sound crass, I'm glad I don't have that going on here. Not that I am glad Jerry died, but I am glad he isn't here in the state he was in. I'm kind of relieved. I'll be in my sewing room later this morning, pop on by after church.
Allrighty, I just got a call from dad, he may or may not be here later today. ha ha, I love my dad. I just take it as it goes. He's the most important man in my life.
This morning I will get into my room and sew, but first breakfast and a shower. No clue what is going to be for dinner. Guess we will have to wait and see. Tomorrow I will head into town, go to the mailing center to mail a package and hit a thrift store or two.
You have a superb day,
Chriss

Sunny and heading to 82° today. Our weather is ignoring Groundhog Phil.
Happy Birthday Diane, Katy and Linda.
Chriss, I too spent $7 yesterday at a garage sale down the street. Bought a cute wire basket and a tray that has grapes, bottle of wine and says Chardonnay. My neighbor is into wine decor and I thought she would like it, but the more I look at it the more I may keep it. As for the Cabin, it will be my Sewing Shack or Sewing Cabin, not she shed.
MaryZ, Glad you got a visit with Tina & Frankie. Your panel is very pretty.
Flo, I hope you feel better soon. Prayers for your son.
Lois, I'm sorry Bill is sick. Garry still has a cough, maybe once an hour and still tells me he's goin' round the bend. He has become very lazy. A couple days ago he left his socks by the bed and I asked him why he hadn't picked them up and put in the hamper. His answer, I'm sick stop picking on me. Wrong answer!! I reminded him that I had also been sick but if I just sat down who would be cooking, doing laundry, taking care of him and everything else. He just looked at me and had no come back.
Jana, Garry also leaves his stick, as he calls it, and forgets where it is. I'm trying to remind myself of something I read, how would you treat that person if they were Jesus.
Tina, I hope you get answers and a fix when you see the Dr about your foot. Thanks for passing my hug to MZ.
Valerie, flying east and driving back west is a good idea unless you were planning on a U shaped route, taking different roads so you see more country and people.
I was looking closely at the cabin yesterday and sadly found a problem that has to be fixed. I had text a photo of the trim I wanted used and guy did on door and 4 windows, but 2 windows and trim that's for base boards is different and especially won't work for base board. My choice has a squared off outside edge and tapers towards the window. The other is rounded on the edge tapers half way then flutes back out. I called and talked with Miguel and he's going to come look. He needs the right trim to finish it off this week.
Dinner will be brats and parmesan zucchini.
Hope your day goes well.
Lyn
