Re: Friday, March 28th
Good Morning,,,prayers said for all the disaster victims and their families.
On the brighter side it is 50 this morning,,,,cloudy and damp but 50 and that is good. rain is expected today but my river is still in its banks.....we live on a hill and the river is expected to flood our lower yard....it happens every year...so we wait for it to go down and then we clean up the trigs and floaters....since we are fenced on the side that the river flows we do not get a lot of junk,,,,but my neighbor ran over the fence on his side and destroyed it so the junk from the floods flows into his yard ..he is in poor shape(all the drinking and smoking has finally caught up with him and he has mouth cancer,) sad for his son and wife...but we are not very close to them.....She is a manager at Joanns but is not very chatty,,,,just says hi most days, I guess they could use some prayers too/
The downer of today as I have to get my taxes done today too...we are HOPING to break even, I will sew today after we get back...supper will be in the crock pot.
Haven't heard from Vicky lately hope everything is ok. Hope you all have a great day,,,,XXXOOO off to the gym.

Re: Friday, March 28th
Suz - oh, you will have a wonderful day with the girls today and the three of you will be getting pumped about the retreat. What fun!
Lois - you are so right about rain making the allergies worse. It cleans the air for a little bit but once those plants/trees dry off they start blowing off the pollen. If it doesn't dry out but stays wet and humid then the mold spores start up. I'm allergic to those, too. But I'll take the rain - we had a drought year before last and I don't want to have that ever again.
Maryz - I'm praying for those in your state who are affected by the mud slides. It's just terrible and traumatic for so very many. Have fun sewing...at home...how does it feel to get to spread out a little? I forgot all about that border for Jane. That should be a challenge - it would be for me anyway.
Scrap - I'm looking forward to your picture.
Velda - I just hate that we couldn't get together while you were down here. Won't you be back in about December? I know you won't be here in time for the quilt show - shame on you! LOL I'm sure it's kind of sad to say good-bye. Do you look forward to moving on or would you rather stay in one place?
Becca - my Bro-in-law took allergy shots for several years, too, but they finally worked so well that he doesn't have to get the shots anymore and doesn't have allergy attacks anymore either. Wouldn't that be nice?
Diana - I'm quite proficient at sitting, too - LOL. You cracked me up. When is the wedding? Speaking of weddings: Sue and I saw the most beautiful pillows made from wedding dresses at our LQS. The lady used her own wedding dress because she didn't have daughters, only sons, so she didn't have anyone to pass her wedding dress on to so she made pillows. Gorgeous.
Chriss - I know how grateful y'all will be to get rain even if it won't fix the draught. It does clean the air and plants/trees off. The first time it rained here during the "d" we went and stood on the deck just to smell the rain. It was wonderful. Congrats to your son's step-bro. Time is passing slowly while waiting for Don to have his surgery - we want it over and done. I need to find a new MD - I'm tired of going all the way to Tomball and now there's a new med center (where Don's going) that's much closer so I need to get on the internet and find a new dr. there. I may do that today if I have time. I have a ton of stuff to do today. I shouldn't even be here but I had to talk to y'all. What project do you have for me if it's not hexies? I have never been to the Cheesecake Factory but I hear it's really good.
Scrappy Pat - prayers going up for you and your family continuously.
Vicky - you, too.
Last night I got my hairs cut and man, she got me way short. That's OK - I won't have to go for a haircut for 6 weeks now. Then I went to my quilting student's house and we got her queen size quilt squared up and trimmed off and we got the binding strip all sewn together. She just has to finish ironing it and sew that sucker on. She'll be calling me when it's time to connect the tails. Then I went home and picked up the house because the cleaning lady is coming today and I still managed to watch Gray's Anatomy. Guess where I am today - blah blah blah. Going to Vicki's tomorrow to quilt my RV quilt. I doubt I'll get it all done because I'm not spending the night and because of my stupid hip blah blah blah. We are predicted to have rain/storms today but the weekend is suppose to be beautiful. And now I must get busy.
We all will get to fondle fabric this weekend, right?

Good Morning Girls
YEAH It's FRIDAY!!! Not a cloud in the sky this morning.. We had rain yesterday that turned into snow, but it's beautiful this morning! Hope it stays nice all weekend! I have LOTS to do!!!
Suzette... what fun.. a GIRL's day!!! When does your DH start his treatments? He can wear your pink scarf!
Judi.. bummer dude... getting taxes done! Hope you come out with a little fabric spending money. My tax refund is set aside for carpet and paint!
MAryz... I haven't seen the news on TV for a few days, but have seen little bits on the internet about the mudslide. Wondered where you are in relation to that area. Glad you are far enough away. But my heart goes out to those folks!
Dianna... When is the wedding? Oh I love wedding shopping... All done now tho.. all 3 kids are wed! Are you making a wedding quilt? Has your DD picked out her colors?
Becca... April Showers bring May Flowers! I would LOVE a good old fashioned thunder storm up here, would melt all the yukky dirty snow!
Velda.. WOW only 3 more days til you head back to IL! The weekend always goes by so fast.. you'll be on the road before you know it! Lots of prayers for a safe journey!
Kathy... Happy Binding day!!! Normally, I'm not crazy about hand work, but I love sewing binding by hand. It's relaxing while I watch TV at night!
Chriss.. I sure hope your rain just POURS down on you today... well not YOU, but on the lawns and trees! Congrats to DS's brother for getting the job!!
Cindyg... Yeah for Friday right? I hope you find a new good Dr... get your butt in there to have that hip checked out!!! Or I'll join Maryz and come done there!!!
Lois.. Yeah for training done! Are you ready? Do I remember correctly that your new work place is closer to home? Have a great sewing weekend.
Guess I better get myself in gear here, need to pay a few bills and then get ready for work.
Room mate is off today... wonder if she will START packing! She hasn't done a THING all week!!! 7 more days!!!! I'm into the home stretch.
Wishing you all a most wonderful day, with prayers for all.

Re: Friday, March 28th
Good morning!
Suzette – congrats on getting that back pieced! I bet that Freon is heavy. Have a lovely girl’s day out today.
Lois –wow that five weeks sure went fast for me. So you’ll be working your new position next week? Best of luck.
Maryz – welcome home! I’m so sorry for the loss of life. I’ve seen aerial before and after pictures of the slide area – it’s simply unbelievable. I’ll be praying for everyone up there.
Leah – what are bellybutton seeds? Sounds intriguing. Hope we get to see your new haircut.
Velda – it seems to me like you just left to go to Texas! I know you’ll enjoy your farewell dinner tonight.
Becca – hope you don’t have too much laundry to grind out so that you can sew some. Do you have to get shots weekly, or is a once a season type thing?
Diana – hello! I don’t think I’ve chatted with you before. So is it your DD that’s getting married? Budgets can be such a pain sometimes. We drive through Indiana on I-70 on the way to see DS2 and family. It’s very pretty.
Chriss – I’m so glad your son’s s/b got the job. And I seem to remember you might have a court date in May? YAY!! Now did I understand that y’all are under surveillance at work? Hope you do get some rain today. We paid so much in taxes it was simply awful.
Kathy – prayers for your DD. I had to hurry to find out what you were expecting a man for! Happy measuring day.
Judi – have fun at the gym. Hope Ken is feeling better. Hopefully all your snow is melted by now.
Cindyg – I understand about getting a new doc – I had to after the move. I didn’t ‘connect’ with her, but I’m sure that’s my fault and who cares anyway – I’ll only see here every five years for a pap (that’s new guidelines). Best of luck to you. Don has been in my prayers daily.
It’s so nice to be back! Now that the floors are done, we are almost unpacked. There is still a bunch of boxes out in the garage, and they will be attended to shortly. We are getting ready for wildfire season. There is a workshop next weekend to train homeowners on fire mitigation, so we’re attending that as well. Our biggest problem is the pine needles. They are ankle deep in a lot of areas around the house, and our gutters are stuffed with them. So that’s what we’ll be doing tomorrow – unstuffing gutters. Have a wonderful day! xoxo Sharona

Good morning, running through but wanted to let you all know I'm thinking of you all. I had a thought for Secret Pals, it's in the thread if you want to go read it. Prayers for those in need.

Sharona - We have chatted but it has been awhile.
DD is getting married on April 12. They have been friends for over 10 years and finally decided they wanted to be more than friends. She got her dress from Deb's - kind of a prom style of dress but still very pretty. It is white with a black band at the waist and small crystals on the bodice and skirt. I will definitely share pictures. I was going to try a quilt but at this point, it will probably be their 10 year anniversary present. I think I am going to try to get some candle mats made for their table decorations. Their colors are teal blue, silver, and black.
As for our weather, it is getting cooler and are expecting snow showers tomorrow. YUCK!!
Indiana can be beautiful in the summer but this time of year - boring brown. Nothing in our area is getting green because the temps aren't at the right point yet. My tulips are up about 2" now. The crocus haven't even popped up yet.

Re: Friday, March 28th
Good morning from sunny, cool Missouri. Wonder what today will bring.
Tornadoes went north of here last night. Did destroy one home up in Trenton MO but folks made it to basement in time and are ok. Sky looked awful dark and weird here for awhile and it was only about 3:30 or so. Sky seemed to be rolling in several directions, like it was boiling.
We walked outside and watched it for awhile. Having been in AZ for a lot of yrs have to get readjusted too, to run to basement during sky boilings. LOL Only we don't have a basement here so just head to center room, bathroom. We sit down in a valley near a creek and have never had storms hit in this area, or so they say. And just who is they anyway? LOL
We are doing ok here, just waiting for drs to set up apptmt to take care of the skin cancer on Rod's ear. VA visit yesterday, dr told him they will go outside of Va to local derm with pathologist to do the surgery. will do little at a time and do instant biopsy to see when they get it all. He may need some plastic surgery later but VA will do that part. So appreciate your prayers and kind words thru all of this. Thank you so much for past prayers. You have no idea how much it means to us to know we have so many praying friends out there in our time of need.
Too many to reply today but I will try. Prayers for all your needs. Special prayers for those in tornado, the mudslides in WA and the missing plane too.
ScrappyPat, You and your family are always in my prayers. Loving thoughts and lots of hugs and prayers winging their way to you. May God bless you and bring comfort and peace as you go thru the days ahead. Hugs dear friend, lots of them (((((((("))))))))
Vicky, hope things are looking up for you and your family. May God bless you and bring healing to you and your family too. You have been thru so much lately.
MaryZ, glad you got home ok. That trailer will stay packed until you get to it. Just shut the door and ignore it for awhile.LOL Sewing is more fun anyway.
Lois, training is done. YaHOO for you.
Leah, are those bachelor button seeds you are talking about? If so they are such pretty pink, blue, and purple flowers. I never heard of bellbutton seeds either. Made me smile tho. Thanks for that today.
Velda, safe travels as you head "home". We just lived in our rv wherever we happened to be so had no place to really call home. We just told folks home was where we were parked at the moment. I miss that. Enjoy your travels. God bless and keep you safe.
Becca, Hope you have a fun day and get to sew. The rain will start greening things up. Everytime it rains here, we see more green the next morning. Spring is just around the corner. Hang in there. Oh, and my neighbor, Lois, is a real sweetheart. Always helping somebody, even in her old age. Makes me smile just to think of her.
Diana, enjoy the rain. The wind isn't far behind. Saw that more bad storms are moving East. Just a sign of spring blowing into area.
Suzette, Prayers for you and DH too. Glad your chemo is over with. Have a fun day with your friends.
Chriss, you are always such a busy lady. I love to hear about Marilyn's adventures. What a delightful little girl. Hope the adoption is done soon. God bless, you are in our prayers.
Kathy, did you "man" show up? I too smiled when I read that part. You must be doing a lot of remodeling. Will have a newer, new home soon. God bless as you enjoy your retirement and all it entails. You sound happy these days. Prayers for Kim. Hope things are going better.
Grammie, Hope the taxes were good news, break even, and get to sew today too. Isn't life fun? LOL
Cindy, You are a busy lady too. Prayers for your DH and you too. Hope you don't get caught up in all those storms in your area. You have too much to do to bother with things like storms. LOL God bless and be careful today.
MaryQ, definite prayers for you that your "roomie nightmare" moves out soon. You will be so relieved and enjoy your empty house once more. Of course you might just miss the kitties a little????? LOL You are so busy, makes me tired just reading all you do in one day.
Sharona, nice to hear you are almost all unpacked. I still have a few boxes unopened and we got here in late dec. Guess I don't need any of that stuff. LOL Have fun unstuffing the gutters. Sounds nicer than cleaning them, doesn't it. Enjoy your new floors. You are getting there. Your new home sounds so nice. Must have pine trees close by.
Tina, don't run thru too fast. Will wear you out for the rest of the day. Have a great day. Hope it is a good one. God bless, you are such a busy person too. Hug those little ones.
Suzette, So glad you get to go on a retreat. You will relax and enjoy being with old and new friends. You deserve that. Be careful with all that lifting. Don't want you to hurt yourself. Can't the men there do that heavy lifting stuff? Forget women's rights, men are just built stronger to lift heavier stuff. It is their job.LOL
Gotta scoot, Probably missed some folks (sorry)but need to get busy today. DH is laying down, headache again. So, my chance to watch some taped QIAD shows. I am getting behind on them. Love and miss you all. Try to read when I can. Happy Springtime. God bless, hugs and prayers for all today. Shirley Mae

Good afternoon all! Just got back from having breakfast with one of my friends. I try to go out for lunch or breakfast with one of my friends each week just to get out of the house. Can't wait for the warm weather so I can go and do other things and it is not cold.
Went to the dr. for my checkup yesterday and everything was great. Though most of my numbers are normal with my meds they were even better yesterday. My dr. said it looked like I had lost weight. I got hugs from him and his nurse over the loss of my DH, and he said he wished he could have done more. My doctor is so great, and I am glad I have him when I hear some of your stories.
Maryz - Glad you got home safely and Scottie too. I am praying for all of the people in he mudslide area. It is so horrible.
Jules - Hope you feel better soon.
Lois - Take care of your allergies. Glad it isn't something more serious.
Shirley Mae - You and Rod are in my prayers. Glad he is getting treatment.
Maryq - Only 7 more days!!
Lois - I must have missed it. What exactly is your job training for. Glad you are almost done. Good Luck.
Suzette - Good news about your DH.
Kathy - sorry I missed your birthday yesterday. Where exactly can I find the list so I can check for birthday? Glad you had a fun day shopping. For my birthday I always treat myself to the Shipshewana, IN Craft Show. It is the same week as my birthday so I go there and then stop at a couple of the LQS in the town.
Irishgram - glad your Kathy's surgery went well. Will keep her in my prayers.
Izzy - I love Cheesecake Factory. When DS lived in Houston he took me there. It was to "die for" as the saying goes. Enjoy your Spring break next week.
Cindyg Don't wait until your DH has his surgery. You need to get to a doctor now, and end your suffering. How are you going to get around the Houston Show in November if you are in such pain?
Chriss Glad your son's step-brother got the job. Happy to hear of young people getting a chance. Tried to get a Marine base here in Ohio years ago. LOL When DS was in Afghanistan the first time I told him I was going to organize Mom's for Afghanistan and come and cook some decent food for them instead of MRE's. LOL
Well, better go get something done. Am leaving for DS's in Elkhart tomorrow after breakfast. Will be back Sunday. Next weekend my DS is coming home and we are going to the shelter to find me a new dog and one that is not afraid of men. Have a good weekend all.
GO WOLVERINES!!!!

Good morning!
Spent the morning finding a picture for the front of the bulletin for Sunday Services. After looking, DH asked about a picture that DS2 has from when he was at the top of Mt. Whitney - so that is the one that we will use.
The weather has changed again - normal for us here in the Mountain West - puffy clouds and blue skies. But alas another storm from Maryz is coming for tomorrow and Sunday, with much needed rain. All of the snow that fell on the house yesterday melted off as fast as it fell.
I got the last block sewn to the El's Kitchen Quilt! Now for a stop at the LQS - need some more TOT white for the borders and setting sashes.
So not much going on here - same old same old, just a different day - uglies are done and I can play! Well, after I straighten up the storage - we are heading down to Lowe's in a few minutes to pick up some more Gorilla Shelves for the food storage in the cold room down here. That will help so much in getting this mess back under control!
So, DO SOMETHING FUN!
Hugs

Re: Friday, March 28th
Good afternoon from semi sunny, semi warm, SW. Pa....I guess being close to 55 is warm, especially for us.....
My day so far has consisted of trying to see if we have pips in the eagle eggs and then trying to watch the robotic competition in D.C...I have a feeling, I'm not going to get anything accomplished today...I even have Jim asking, "Do we have a baby, yet"....Mom and Dad are sitting on 3 eggs and hopefully they will all be viable....
Suzette, I also pictured you at a desk....My heavens, what you've been through and then to have a physical job...You're our "wonder woman"....
Chriss, happy to hear he got the job..Everyone deserves a chance....And you keep on nagging Cindy, we all agree she should see a doctor.....Are you getting rain?
Well, I'd better scoot and check on the nest....And then check on the robots.....So much excitement, don't know how I can handle it all, lol.....
You all have a great day...............
