Good Morning Girls

Up before the sun this morning! Working mid-shift this week 10-6

Had a pretty good weekend.. got my chores done and sewed a LOT.

Lois... sorry you missed the show in Lancaster, but at least you came home with some treats!

Suzette..... Oh My Gosh, you have really gotten hit with the snow this year--kind of rare for your area isn't it? Luckily, I have a garage and don't have to clean off my car from a snow storm like that. I heard the word SNOW in the forecast for tomorrow--I hope it misses us!

Mel... will keep you in prayers today for your ultrasound... and all the biopsy results... could be just cysts?

Teresa... room mate has applied for an apt. but she won't hear until Friday if she is approved. I have plans for my house as soon as she is gone. She's supposed to be in her own place by April 1. I've been talking about her moving since just after Christmas and she's waited until NOW to do anything about it. Hasn't packed a THING, made no attempt to even get READY to move. Hasn't made arrangements to rent a truck or anything. I'm sure curious about your April Lotto block!!!

Chriss.... 15 days until room mate moves out! She hasn't done laundry in MONTHS! I think she still has dirty clothes in her hamper that she moved in with, and it's piled so high with dirty clothes, it comes up almost to my shoulder (I'm 5'3") she's NEVER had all laundry completely done. I've only seen her change her sheets ONCE in the whole time she been here.. since May 2103. NEVER has washed her bathroom floor. I could post pictures--but it would gross you out! I even offered to wash towels for her yesterday.. she declined... Same towels are in the bathroom that have been there since last fall!
You can imagine how her room stinks!!!

Chickie... I'd be lost without my side winder too! My bobbin winder on my machine hasn't worked in ages. I keep it right next to my machine with a little jar of extra bobbins.. can't have too many of those! How old is Tasha! How fun to have her around and read with her!

Judi.... Will you make it home today? Hope you didn't have to travel through any bad weather

Maryz... From one Irishman to another... HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY. I picked out my outfit for work today, last night... but forgot.. I need to wear GREEN today. My Mom would be eating corned beef and cabbage today! (yuk) Okay, I have green olives on my left over pizza--does that count?

Guess I better get going..

Wishing you all a most wonderful day!

Happy St Patrick's Day! I am not even a little bit Irish, but I always try to find something green to wear, just to enjoy the fun.
Willy has his cute little scarf to wear. He will be styling, thanks to Maryz! Hugs!

By the way, happy trails, Maryz. Please be safe and May God be with you in your travels.

Teresa: You know how much I truly love LOTTO!!! But April is a crazy month for me. We have so many things going on with Doctor and Dentist appointments, getting settled back into our summer time camp site.
Also, I told myself, no more buying new fabric that ends up making my fabric stash larger. Just can't happen with my limited space.
I am so anxious to see what pattern you have chosen. I will no doubt be making a sample for myself with fabrics that I do have.
I am looking for the right fabric to make a TEXAS theme table topper for myself. I acquired a few really neat Texas fabric on one our our F.A.R.T.s with Lyn this winter. I also have a number of other projects on my table. Just have to stay on the side line for this one, So sorry. But I will be watching and learning from the rest of you. I will be back in again with you all, later in the year.

No more time, now for chatting, I need to get my breakfast and take my meds. Be back later.
Hugs

Good Freezing Morning....HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY!!!!

Yesterday's guild meeting was interesting. The speaker brought 5 tubs of quilts. Seems her 1st quilt was lap size and after that she went smaller & smaller & smaller. Her smallest being 1". She also likes to make small quilts that look like Penny Rugs.
I need to vac & sweep today then sewing. Yuk a few phone call to make & I should color my hair.

I can not believe they are saying that someone flew the missing plane away! I hope that means the people are alive. That's a lot of people to care for.

Suzette....OMG how much snow did you get?? It looks looks 12". It's always a good feeling to find a fabric that works. Happy sewing day!
I live in what is called the snow corridor of New England but I think you have had more snow than us.

Teresa.....Happy Birthday to Spencer!! I've never done a green meal usually corn beef dinner but not this year. Oh a car repair hoping for the best.

Mel.....happy to hear your retreat was a success. Keeping you in my prayers.(((((HUGS))))

Lea....what sad news about your brothers. Sometimes it's too bad we can't pick our family like we do our friends. Your jacket is lovely.

Lois....I was thinking of you while I was at the quilt shop on Sat. Glad it went well. What would happen if you all asked for more trailing?

Chriss.....the pine trees here are super tall so if you blow past Chickie grab one & I'll call the Hook & Ladder to get you down. Bring some 70'+ with you I'd love to see some grass.

Maryz....what a delightful Mom story. Oh I wonder what they did! My best Irish story is my Grandfather Courtney from Cork was kicked out of Ireland for being in the IRA. He(now dead)& his family never allowed back. I have tears in my eyes for you ...so sad to leave.

Izzy...I need to ask my sister how many snow days her DGD has had this year. I'm sure it's not that high. I hope to finish my R/W blocks today.

Maryq....what happy new she has finally made a move here's hoping it's not too late. OMG.....what cleaning you will have to do in order to have it done right! Sorry...we can't come & help. I don't see her cleaning before she leaves.

Velda.....what a wonderful idea a TX topper. Some where I saw one called Texas Hold-um. Thank you for the idea.....

Love & Prayers to all in need............Kathy

Suz - no wonder you can't sleep. It's only 9:00 PM. I love batiks but I'm finding out that they are harder to hand applique because the weave is so tight. How is your DH feeling?

Teresa - we use to be extra careful driving when there was a full moon because the crazies were out. LOL I love camping and sitting outside when there is a full moon. It's so pretty on the water.

Mel - I hope your biopsy comes back clear. I'm praying and keeping my fingers crossed for you. I'm so glad you had a good time at your retreat.

Scrap - sometimes families are just so hard. That's why God gives us friends - we can choose those!

Lois - it's a shame that you missed the AQS show but it sounds like you had a good time anyway. Did you take pix? And now back to the grindstone. Boy, those fun times sure fly by, don't they?

Chriss - we flock to the vendors first at the quilt show. It's sad that we don't go over and look at the quilts but we shop the vendors for two whole days. Nobody wants to go back on the last day to look at the quilts except for me and I don't want to go by myself. We had lots of wind yesterday. I thought the roof was going to blow off.

Maryz - makes me want to cry that you are leaving TX. When will you be back? Will you be here for the quilt show? I'm glad you and Aut had a good M/D day and hooray for SIL wanting to actually learn something about home repair. I never have to worry about wearing green as I wear it every day - my eyes are green. I'm part Irish, too.

Izzy - wow, I can't believe you are having another snow day. Oh, well, seems like you have a sew day planned. Have fun.

Maryq - I think those green olives should count for something!!! Did you have a contract with your roommate? She sounds like she's suffering from depression. Do you know if she is?

Velda - I hope you got Texas Wildflower fabric and some Bluebonnets only fabric. When are you leaving? Will you be back in plenty of time to come to the Houston Quilt Festival? Am I thinking correctly - you and Lyn got a room so you can attend the show for two days?

Sherry - I'm so sorry about Otis. We got a Pekingese (Jacpot) from a shelter and he was good at first and he was always a very loving dog with Don and me but wasn't friendly with anyone else who came in the house, even our grandkids. He bit at people's ankles. The worst was that he started fighting with Scooter and they would really get after it. We kept him for 14 months and the day that he started a fight with Scooter which resulted in blood all over the kitchen was the day that we decided to take him back. It was a very hard decision. He was a beautiful dog and was so loving and sweet with Don and me but I refuse to have mean dogs - period. Anyway, I know you miss having a dog so maybe you can find another one quickly - maybe a puppy that hasn't been abused. That should keep you busy training - LOL LOL.

I'm at work so best get busy.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Another windy day in southern Texas. DH seems to be feeling better. He slept all day, yesterday. Got up in the evening and had a cup of cream of chicken soup and a glass of ice tea, then back to bed. Not up yet this morning.

I'm making slow progress on my birdhouse blocks. I have 12 that have the tree and pine branches stitched down.

Cindyg - You have Velda confused with my DSIL, Marilyn. She is the one that goes to Houston with me. She is already planning her vacation for this fall. Not sure Velda will make it this fall. I think they have a family thing going on.

Maryz - Safe travels. I, too, am part Irish. But have never made it a big celebration.

Maryq - Maybe you should start stacking empty boxes outside her room.

Suzette - Someone needs to turn off the CD that's playing 'let it snow, let it snow, let it snow'. LOL

Hope to hear from the insurance today.
Lyn

Hi everyone,
I feel soooo much better, I don't know what to do with myself. I woke up at 7:45 this morning. I haven't slept that late in years.
It's amazing what a good night sleep can do. My pain is almost gone. I have been blessed.
We were supposed to get several inches of snow, but we have 1/2 inch sleet. Poor dog can't stand up, her back legs slide out from under her. Actually it's a little funny to watch.
Back to work on the SBS blocks and I want to start setting them together. I'm trying to only use my stash and I'm having a problem finding shashing, but I'll come up with something. It may not be the best, but it will have to do...
Happy Sewing Redtop
