JUDI - there you are! You must have stolen all the sleep because I sure didn't get any! I like to collect shells at the beach, too, but I get then home, lay them out to dry, and the raccons make off with them! There are special rulers for Dear Jane????? NOW you tell me???? I have the book only. No directions. No CD. I'm 'wingin' it! Probably doing everything the hard way.

Do you ever get the feeling that you just can't win? We just found out that my husband has Squamous Cell skin cancer. Of all places it is on his behind. How he got it there who knows. We will go to the dr on Wednesday morning to see what she wants to do. She has already told him treatment would start with radiation. I don't know anymore then that right now.
Those of you who are friends with me on Facebook, please don't say anything yet. My 2 stepdaughters are friends also and as of right now he hasn't told them.

Morning Pals from the cabin in the woods. Have been missing here for quite a while. Bad Internet, snow, ice, and life have gotten in the way. I hope we are back on the right track now.
To all you pet owners out there. I have a question. I have an 11 yr. old toy poodle that is beginning to show signs of arthritis. My grandmother would have given her a baby aspirin. Is that safe?
I am still working on my UFO's. Have several that need to be sahed and quilted. Trying hard not to start new ones. Notice I said trying.
Enjoy today.
Hugs and prayers for all!

Good morning!
Suzette - I'll add your DH to the prayer list. Good grief - of all places to have it. I'm so glad your last treatment is tomorrow.
Sherry - can't wait to see a pic of Otis. Sounds like he was heaven-sent.
Sooz - yay for the crud being almost gone.
Scraps - your kitty is really enjoying the nicer weather - good for him.
Lois - sounds like your training is really intense.
Vicky - I have no idea what the primitive style is. I'll have to google it. Enjoy your time with the girls.
Izzy - too bad your DH's relief impeded your sleep. And then top that off with Daylight Savings Time - yuck.
Maryz - what made Scottie uneat his food? I can't believe you're almost done with DJ.
Judi - how neat to find unbroken sand dollars!
Chriss - sorry about the block. Hopefully the work day will fly by.
I've been working on my bird house blocks. And putting the rooms back together that had the floors done. I was out in my sewing hole yesterday when all of a sudden it sounded like a jack hammer was going. It was a wood pecker - blah. They are as thick as thieves around here. Have a great day! xoxo Sharona
SherryS - sorry about stepping all over you! I would google the baby aspirin thing, as it depends on the dog's weight. I would say call your vet, but they'd want to see him and then you'd be out that $$. My 16yo Siamese cat's bowels are slowing down. I googled that, and found some stuff I put on his paws that has really helped. Good luck!

Good Morning Girls
Yup, here it is Monday again already. The weekend flew by, but it was a good productive weekend. The house got cleaned and I sewed like a crazy woman all day yesterday! Finished Jen's quilt top! YIPEEEE
(photo posted) and my Lotto Blocks, tho one is a major screw up so will start over! Next weekend I'll get to work on my R-W blocks... the weekend after that I have to work!
Suzette... Oh Gosh,, here I was all happy that you are almost done with your treatments!!! Your poor DH!!! of all places to have skin cancer!!! You will be in my prayers!!!
Maryz... Oh what fun.. a MOTHER-DAUGHTER Day!!! what are you planning? Shopping? Lunch? Oh how am I looking forward to a day like that!
Sherry....So glad to hear that you were able to bring home a new puppy--well not a puppy really. But I'm sure it will be nice to have company in the house again. Love the name OTIS too!!! I do miss having a dog in the house, but I sure won't miss the cats when they are gone!
Sooz.... I would fill up room mates room with empty boxes... but there's no space to put them!!! She's avoiding answering me if I ask about her plans. She's off work on wed... so we will see! Glad you are feeling better. If your DH shows any interest at all in sewing--GO FOR IT! Just think of the quilts you could do with a little piecing help!
Vicky... Hope the chiropractor can fit you in.. You must have really done a number on your back! I found that a good old fashion sponge mop works pretty well for cleaning the tub. I just sprinkle a little baking soda on it and mop away!
Izzy.... sure hope you found a spoon! Are you counting down the days til school is over? I bet the kids are getting antsy too--especially when the weather starts warming up. Spring Fever!
Corning... Don't get me started on UFO's... I think I have enough of them to keep me busy for a long time.. some are years old! I promise myself that I'm going to finish them, but it's so much more fun to start a new project!
Sharona... Check Connecting threads.. they have a new line of primitive fabric... I want it ALL. How's the snow level where you are? Believe it or not, we have a few wood peckers up here too! Once in a while I can hear their noise in my woods!
Judi... I suppose you make your spaghetti sauce from scratch? Me, I just open a jar! Much easier!
Time for me to fly girls...
Will see you tomorrow a.m.
Wishing you all a most wonderful day

I need some time away from cleaning. I did see two robins and some green grass. Wow this winter must be too long when I get excited about grass. Soon it will be time to mow.
I have my three SBS blocks done for the week. I really feel like
going to a quilt shop in the next few days.
Thanks for listening to me grip.
Have a great sewing day

Good morning! We are going for 74 degrees today!!! Hard to believe Saturday was freezing rain and ice. I am so not complaining!
It took me forever to get the laundry completed yesterday. I was fixing fence, helping DH hang blue bird houses, hiking along the lake, checking calves… ANYTHING to keep from being inside and out of the sun! It was a fun day!
Suzette—so happy to hear you are almost finished with your treatments! I agree—ice cream and cupcakes are in order. What a milestone! I’m hoping your DH’s cancer will not be serious. It’s strange where they find them.
Sherry—so delighted to hear that you have a new little buddy. Give him a good rub and a treat from my pals and me.
Lois—I am sure you are doing well. How fun to have Lancaster to look forward to!
Sooz—So good to hear from you! Those extra shifts can mess up your week for sure! Great advice for Jules! A sudden death is so much more difficult than a long illness. My sister’s DH died while away at a meeting; I don’t think she ever forgave him. I love the sound of the surf, too. The ocean calls me every time I see it on TV or in a movie—I can feel the tide pulling me back.
Vicky—hope the activity today will do your back good or you can get a treatment. Enjoy your time with your girls!
Scrap—Have a great day! Love hearing about your kitty. I read your 2:00 a.m. post, and it sounds like the lady is suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s. Such a sad ailment.
Izzy—I think you have to go to work to rest!
Chriss—don’t you hate it when you are trying to make blocks perfect and can’t hit the center! I’m sure they will make neat table toppers or place mats and the size difference won’t be noticed.
Becca—can you tell I like being outdoors… I enjoy the farm. So good to hear you are feeling better. That warm weather is the best medicine!
Judi—The sand dollars are a reward for your hike. Walking in sand is great exercise. I enjoyed my beach treasures. I need to go to a beach again… Dear Jane rulers? Hummmmm… I could be tempted…
MaryZ—Will we call you Crazy Mary when you finish your quilt? How is your wine supply holding out? They are beautiful quilts! I work when I mend fences—LOL! No dolls for me… well, maybe a few doggie pets, but they are having fun exploring while we are working.
DH is back… time for brunch!

Good Cloudy Morning.....
I have the illness I call "just a fever" but it had knocked me out. And there is nothing that lowers the temp. So I was hot stuff last night.
I might stay in my PJs today.
I think I'll putts around in the sewing room today with Dr Who. Oh yes I recorded the show "Cosmos". Did any of you see it? How about when it was on years ago with Carl Sagan(?)?
Lois....a quilting trip sounds like heaven after the winter.
Suzette....I wish we could swoop down and take you out to dinner & a few quilt shops.
Sooz...good to hear you'r feeling better.
Vicky....I do love the primitive style. I would toss out all my furniture & replace it "if" I had the money.
Lea....Good to see you'r warming up. I've had a little melting on Sat but snow showers today.
Izzy....work's tough with out sleep. Hope the children behave for you.
Chriss....hope your day is fast & smooth!!
Becca.....enjoy your weather we'll catch up to you soon.
Judi.....I miss walking on the beach & the smell. I want to go the Cape Cod this summer. I have a friend that lives there.
Maryz....I've taken out the D Jane book again. To be kind to my self I could do it in 2 colors.....red or blue or greens. What will you do with Autumn? My DD & family are in NC visiting her in-laws.
Suzette....I'll put him right next to you on my prayer list. So sorry to hear this.
Sharon....good to see you. I'm no help with pets. You'll put us all to shame with all your UFOs finished.
Love & Prayers to all.......Kathy

Re: Monday March 10,2014
Good morning from semi sunny, chilly, SW. Pa...Yep, I'm back? Not because I want to be but I'm back.....
I wasn't scheduled to come home yet but a gal friend needed to come back from Naples and asked if I'd ride along with her...She had a family emergency back here and hated to drive by herself...So, I cancelled the flight and came home...We did have a very nice drive north and of course complained about the dropping temps along the way...When you leave 85 and sun and come back to 45 and dreary, it's a real shock to the body....But, now to add to the shock, I have to get back to those daily things...Took me awhile to figure out the washer and I'm still not sure about the stove....
But, before I practice, I'm meeting friends for lunch at a new Greek place...Sure don't need practice to do that......
I've been trying to read through the posts and catch up but that might take awhile...But, it sure looks likes everyone has been busy....
Suzette, so happy to hear you're done or almost done with your treatments...But, sad to hear about DH...Jim has had quite a few of those and we've wondered how or why in the world they appear in strange places..Will certainly keep him in my prayers....
Cindy, in one of your posts, you had mentioned eating at Mel's Diner...If it's anything like the one in Ft. Myers, you had a great meal...That's where I had the best chicken and biscuits I've ever eaten....
Sherry, I felt so bad when I read about your fur baby but then was so happy to hear about Otis....I could just picture this bundle of fur giving you lots and lots of doggy kisses....Good for you adopting a shelter dog, bless your heart.....
Oh well, now I'd better get moving...Wouldn't want to miss lunch.....
You all have a great day...............

Is it nap time. I need toothpicks to keep my eyes open. I really want to go home so tired. But I have one more group at 230 to see. Then I plan on leaving out of here. I am so tired. I dont know how I will manage tonight with ladies. I did sort all the beautiful blocks everyone has sent me:) Some for pillow tops; others to make a valance with; and then others for lap quilts. We will be busy tonight that is for sure.
I bought a cheese cake and strawberries and a hershey chocolate pie for treats. Gotta make coffe to take and then gather some ice for soda too:)
Wont get home until after 9 for sure. I have to feed, milk and gather eggs when I get home first. DD is getting happy meal tonight on way there LOL DH has deacons meeting then they will head home to get ready for bed.
Taking sleeping pill tonight so I can snooz befor DH starts up his engines LOL
Tuesday night is Els show Mystery quilt so will be up til 11 so I definitely need sleep tonight.
