Re: Thursday, March 6th
Good Morning,,,still chilly but a lot warmer than most of you. All of this fresh air is wiping me out...went to bed at 10 and got up at 8. Feels great to slepp good though. Had wine with dinner...like a sleeping pill...Today we visit a fish monger to get shrimp off the boats and tonight we will have shrimp and garlic pasta. with a salad (sis hates sea food so she will thaw out a steak or something)...it is the highlight of the trip to get fresh everything when we can. Farmers market had some really great tomatoes and BLTs are on the menu here too.
Sorry it is still cold...we have to keep an eye on the weather for the trip home next week.
Usually around St.Patricks day you plant peas....I don't think we will be able to get through the snow to do that this year...
I need to do a load of laundry today too...it is $1.50 to wash and the same to dry. Hate paying for that....
Well I need to go get dressed for the gym and the days excusions...Hope you all stay warm and cuddle with your cotton.XXXOOO

Good morning all! Another quiet day here. I started looking online for a shelter dog yesterday. It is so quiet here I am talking to myself and it isn't real intelligent. LOL. I hope to find another Beagle at least a year or 2 old, but I am really open to any dog I can save from a shelter. That is where we got Pepper.
Suzette - So glad your treatments are almost over.
Becca - I would love to see Daffodils right now.
Izzy - Will keep DH sinus problem in my prayers.
Maryz - I used to really like The Big Bang Theory, but Sheldon has gone so far over the top I can't stand him anymore. I rarely watch the new shows I stick to reruns on cable.
had
Jules - I sure hope your sister lets you visit. I don't know how I would have handled it if my DH had died unexpectantly. He had been bedridden for a couple of years before he got pneumonia and died a month ago. I don't know what I would do without all the people who have called and visited. I will keep your sister in my prayers.
Lois - Hope you are feeling better soon. Keep up the good work with your training. You will do well with it.
Well, better go get some breakfast. I have errands to run today. I hope to get some sewing done. It won't be long until the next Mystery Block webinar so I need to get something done. have a good day all, and prayers for all who need them.
Sherry

Re: Thursday, March 6th
Good morning everyone!
Since weather reports tend to be first, we are still very cold. The temp is 15 with a wind chill of 1. Our poor pug just about froze while outside. I did go out with him to burn some stuff in the fire pit, can't get to the burn barrel, and to save him from the other dog. She is a year old border collie mix pup and very hyper. We aren't able to keep up with such an energetic pup and our daughter can't have another dog at her place. So, we are sadly taking her to our local animal shelter. It is a no kill place and hopefully they can find her a home with lots of space and older kids to keep her busy. Enough of the dog the situation, let me catch up with my gals.
Suzette - Time for a party on Tuesday!! Congratulations!!!!! I have never head of drinking the luke warm water. I guess that is why drinking the bottled water on the nightstand at 3 in the morning always works better. HMMMMMMMMMM.
Lois - May your brain freeze get in the game for today. I hate it when I can't wrap my brain around my subject matter. (It happens more than I care to admit.)
Jules - Prayers are being said for your sis. Sometimes, just being there, not saying a word, and hugging is the best medicine.
Maryz - I am glad that you can keep busy. But I am still thinking of the bored hubby. Maybe he could look on the maps and find a different route home with some sightseeing along the way. I know traveling with a camper can be challenging but it is worth a shot. My family traveled all over when I was much younger in a 28' motorhome.
Leah - Avoiding crowds might be a good idea - not that I am a germaphobic person, but I just don't like crowds. I feel trapped. If it weren't for a few cousins, 1 uncle, and my DH's family, I would be alone also.
Izzy - Hope your DH feels better soon. There's nothing worse than having to do outside work with sinus issues. There's nothing worse than doing ANY kind of work with sinus issues. Enjoy your day at school.
Becca - Lucky you - daffodils! Our daffs are under about 3' of snow and ice. We might see them in April or May or June......
Vicky - Enjoy time with your grandkids. I am happy that you got to spend time with your sister. I miss mine so very much.
Judi - FRESH SHRIMP! Oh, how I envy you. If we could plant peas on St. Pat's Day, we would have to plow snow and ice. We have a special offer to get our mower worked on but we can't get to the barn door because of the snow and ice. We have until the 14th and our forecast is still saying the mighty S word.
Kathy - WW - Good for you! I had to miss our TOPS meeting because DH was very sick. Enjoy the meeting!!
Time to get DH to the doctor again and then on to bill paying time. Have a super day and may everyone have fun paying with fabric.
Diana

Re: Thursday, March 6th
Thought I'd pop in for minute--lots I need to get accomplished today.
My doctors visit went well, all my tests came back normal. What is normal when I hurt ALL over and feel like crap. Yes I'm grumpy...I did sleep better last night although I woke at 4am. I rested (awake) until 6.
Thanks for the prayers and kind comments concerning my Mom. I will go visit her and sister today.
Hopefully I can find a few minutes in my sewing haven today. It's always peaceful when I hide in my little corner. Sewing is my therapy
I read everyone's comments, there's lots of needs in our group. I pray for you all each day you're in my thought often. Redtop

Re: Thursday, March 6th
Good morning.. it's raining like crazy out there.. we haven't seen our pregnant cat since yesterday, she was so preg. that her belly scraped the ground when she walked... I bet she has 100 kittens...oops, Jerry just saw her still preg..
Izzy,I will trade you one snow day for a work day.. you come here and work and I will go there and sew in the snow... make sure the goats are fed and watered before you come...
Maryq.. well? how was the laundry.. are you thrilled? 25 more days.. and it's almost time to go to Alaska.. how exciting... what's a CE?
Sandy, I don't think we get to have spring or fall anymore.. I believe we are down to just winter and summer...
Suzette, next week is your last radiation session.. definately a confetti moment..congrats to you....
Sherry, a new beagle will be great.. they are just so so cute...did you ever see the Disney movie The Fox and the Hound? it's animated and one of my favorites.
Kathy, wonder if you can go to Best Buy and have them transfer your computer stuff over? I so love my lap top, I watch movies while I sew and it's wonderful..I am so glad Kim went back to work, even a day early...this has been a very long haul for her.. sending prayers.
Chickie.. sunshine is a great mood booster...what is the Teresa Project? Odie and TB are blessed to have you rescue them...
Cindy, I don't think the fox is dangerous.. Jerry has a pellet gun, it only stings the critters but it makes them go away... before we had cats the squirrels could hear us open the door and would run..it's a learning process... I havne't had liver and onions in a long time..wish I could go with you next time..hope the allergies calm down.
Diana, don't you think that if we are going to have spring time allergies we should at least get a real honest to goodness spring??? only seems fair....you're right about the young girl drama.. my insecurity always wonders if I am or am not like them, then I worry...
Jana, I am good at slurring my words so I can pronounce your towns just fine...but in no way was I ready to pronounce Tooele or Mantua...Ethan got to meet Vinae too? I wanted to meet Ethan... I think I will have a hissy fit over this...glad it was a good meeting..
Florence, grandkid weekends are the best ever..
Sharona, glad I could help stick a song in your head...lol
Lois.. I hate coughing.. I read someplace to try a teaspoon of mustard.. but not sure I could down a teaspoon of mustard.. so I hope it goes away on it/s own.
Jules, your sister is so blessed to have you care about her.. how cool to be that loved...camp out at her doorstep...
Maryz.. I love Big Bang..the older ones are my fav's.
Leah, I also pee when I cough.. it's kind of a trademark.
Becca, hope your snow melts too.
Vicky, you're really flying on that Harley quilt.. and you'll have an organized sewing room.. and you feel better.. things are looking up.
Judi, fresh shrimp sounds wonderful... there are so many things Jerry and Marilyn won't eat and you cook all of them.. I'd love to come to your house for dinner for a month and get my fill...
Kathy, I can hear you hoping the computer doesn't freeze up but isn't it hard to type with your fingers crossed?
Sherry, I like the older Big Bang's too.. before everyone on the shwo was in bed.. hope you find your dog.. I need breakfast too, what are you having?
Diana, hope the doctor appts go well
Tess, glad to hear you're normal.. hope you get to sew too.
today at work they are having an employee appreciation bbq.. we will have tri-tip sandwiches..I love tri-tip.. heck, Ilove food.
Jerry showed me a recipe for Lemon Mousse cheesecake that he may make today.. wonder what the best cheesecake recipe is?
and I'm off, since Sherry didn't invite me for breakfast guess I'll just have cereal..
hope you all have a better than ever day,
Chriss

Good Morning Girls
Just a quick hello... need to get ready for work soon!
But YEAH I have clean clothes! The washer arrived about noon yesterday, but I had to wait to wash until the plumber could come and put in new spigots. He came around 5--another one of my neighbors so he stopped on his way home! The only problem is, the tub is so big and I am so short, I can't reach the bottom of the tub.. so I'm going to need to but some kind of "grabber" in the laundry room! The contractor was here most of yesterday and all the family room furniture got moved into my sewing room! I did manage to sneak in and bring my sewing machine up stairs, as I puttsed a little and started a R & W block. Tomorrow the electricians come to put in new lighting in the family room and the kitchen! YEEEE---HAAAAA
Jules.... I hope you sis will open her doors and her arms to you today! I can imagine nothing worse than loosing a child. She is my prayers!
Suzette... YEAH for radiation being almost done!!!! Such good news! Will you have to have follow up appointments?
Maryz.. Last time I had too much wine, I got pregnant. So be careful with that wine!!!
Becca... This washer is so fancy it plays a little song when it's done! It does have a "pause" button so if you press that, it stops and unlocks. I'll be looking all around the house for dirties this weekend so I can play with it!
Lois... Hope your training goes better for you today! Do you take lots of notes?
Judi.... PEAS???? Even if there wasn't so much snow here, that's the last thing I would plant! It's supposed to warm up to 40 something this weekend!! Could it be spring IS coming after all?
Vicky..... Enjoy the day with the kids!! A Day God has made!!! Rejoice!
Kathy... Hope you find your WW meeting!!!
Better fly.... Hi-Ho Hi-Ho It's back to work I go!
PS... Chriss.. CE is Continuing Education. I have to have 20 credits every other year to keep my Certification as a "Certified Pharmacy Technician" 25 MORE DAYS! Room mate hasn't even LOOKED for a place yet never mind packing anything! She's off work tomorrow and supposedly she is going to look tomorrow. I so can't WAIT!!!!

She was doing paper piecing, very beautiful what she made.. Meet twice a mth, then my guild, lovely.. A trip to a small remote country town.. My favorite, be gardening soon.. That town is known for being inviting, maybe a matchmaking for me..

Re: Thursday, March 6th
Suz - that is such good news!!! When you say your skin is a mess, does it hurt?
Lois - I hope your messed up sleep doesn't affect you all day and you can get rid of that cough soon.
Jules - when you see your sister please give her hugs from us. Maybe she just doesn't want people to see her grieving. The whole thing is just awful for her and the rest of the family. I sent up a prayer for you two to have a good visit today.
Maryz - you are back-asswards......when you have more than one wine it should make you sleep better. Maybe with you it makes you antsy to get up and party - LOL. Dear Jane is such good company.
Scrap - listen girlfriend, you may not have people physically close but you know you have us to care about you. Have you tried the warm water trick for the cough?
Izzy - I hope you have had your last snow day and are getting back into the routine of things. Seems to me you might have to work into half the summer.
Becca - I must be waaayyy behind on the washer news. Why can't you put clothes in after the wash is already going? I'm guessing it's a front loader? Does it have a soak cycle? I like to soak some of our clothes in OxyClean.
Vicky - you are so lucky to have Tia and Shannon to help you in your room. Maybe you can visit with the grandkids and they can do the work - LOL.
Judi - oh, I'm so jealous - fresh shrimp with garlic pasta - yuuummmmm. I know you have to pay to do your laundry because you are on the road. It's not the paying part that bothers me - it's the washing my clothing in with other people's pubic hairs. YUK!!
Kathy - good luck finding and going into your WW meeting. I really should be going with you.
Sherry - I'm so glad you are looking for another dog and you are willing to adopt. I just can't stand those commercials with the sad looking dogs that need adopting - I want to go get them all! It doesn't help that a friend of mine volunteers at a Pomeranian shelter and is always sending pictures of them. Anyway, I hope your find your new companion soon. Are you looking for a certain breed?
Susie - thanks for taking the dog to a no-kill shelter. Most of the time I agree with the no-kill but PittBulls are another store. Just yesterday on the news a woman in our area was attacked by two Pitts - one had a leg and the other had an arm and they were pulling her in different directions. Luckily a neighbor came running out and managed to get the dogs to run away. He literally had his hands on one dog's mouth trying to pull his jaws apart to free the woman's leg and his hands look like hamburger meat. They caught the dogs and they were taken to a shelter. The dog owner was interviewed - seems the dogs were confined in a fenced back yard but the sweet, sweet dogs got out. I wonder how sweet that poor lady and her rescuer think those dogs are. I think those dogs will be put down. The lady has a very long road to recovery and will be scarred terribly. She had fifty-odd tears on her body. 99% of the dog attacks in our area are done by Pitt Bulls and that's why I'm so against them. Boy, Susie, I bet you didn't expect my rant, did you? Sorry. I do tend to speak my mind when it comes to one of my pet (no pun intended) peaves.
Redtop - I hope you do find time to visit your sewing haven. It is wonderful therapy.
Chriss - swing by here and pick me up on your way to Judi's. I could eat shrimp 7 days a week. Pasta, too.
Maryq - you are so funny about your new washer. The downside of playing with a new washer is that the clothes have to be dried and then fold/hung and put away.
I did a little laundry myself last night and worked on my Radical Rooster. Our garage door opener decided to retire. What a pain to have to go thru the front door - LOL. The opener will be replaced this weekend - DH went and got one last night. I'm at work so better get busy.
May we all get to fondle fabric today.
Lois - I hope your messed up sleep doesn't affect you all day and you can get rid of that cough soon.

Re: Thursday, March 6th
Good morning! Good news! We are supposed to be warming… 53 today! 61 tomorrow, and back to 50s again. Hopefully this will be a trend that spreads across east and north and is coming up from Texas… I enjoyed my walk yesterday. We are getting a few green blades of grass in the pastures. I’m sure the cows are sick of dry hay. A great blue heron was standing on the ice of the pond yesterday. I’m sure they are having a difficult time finding dinner.
Suzette—great news that you are almost finished with the treatments! Did you receive some skin cream when you started your radiation?
MaryQ—I never thought about being too short to reach the bottom of my washer. This one is really deep, so I can see it could be a problem. My DD’s washer plays a tune for her. Mine just clicks off and the lid unlocks. I think you are going to be packing and leaving your tenant’s stuff on the end of the driveway.
Chriss—I love cheesecake… I don’t think I’ve ever had any that I didn’t like.
Tess—I hope that you feel better when spring arrives! You sound exhausted from all you’ve been through with your mother. I think we all relate to the “cotton therapy.”
Diana—I’m sorry about the dog and will hope he finds a loving home. Best wishes for your DH to get well!
Sherry—you need to get together with Diana! After my house was too quiet, I found it to be less crazy to talk to the cats rather than to myself. I hope you find the perfect companion—soon!!!
Kathy—Good luck to you today! Some of those huge complexes are a real challenge. If you can’t find it, buy fabric not food on your way home…
Judi—FRESH! Lucky you!!! I think your sis is related to someone we all know and love here… Enjoy your meal and your day! I think Grandma and Grandpa planted peas at Valentine’s and potatoes at St. Patrick’s days. I know why the water bills at the rentals are so high—all the county is probably doing wash in the furnished washers and paid water! I remember when it was 10 cents a load.
Vicky—enjoy your day!!! Know you are going to have fun now that you are feeling so much better.
Becca—Hope you make it through your day of running around. My washer has a “Cancel” button. I only use it at the very beginning when I turn around and see something I dropped on the floor. Oh, daffodils! Mine are under ice. They had started pushing up green tips. Spring is on the way!
Izzy—Sorry to hear you have a sick DH. Back to the school grind… good luck!
Lea—I’m glad you found a friend at your satellite meeting! You will have fun with a new quilting friend.
MaryZ—Enjoy your day with Crazy Jane!
Jules—Hugs to you and your sister. I hope she let you in so you could just sit and share with her—tears, memories, hugs… Will you make a quilt for her with some of his clothes? My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Lois—hope you feel better! Does your training end tomorrow? Best wishes!
Cindy—I’m so sorry to hear about the pit bull dogs. I blame the owner. I have seen very gentle, family pit bulls. There are also ones that are trained to attack—very scary! That poor woman and her rescuer. He is a hero! The owner should never be allowed to have dogs again.
Today I’m going to make some pincushions Mom saw in one of my quilt magazines. I’ll take her place mat and a pincushion to her Saturday. She is always finding “projects” for me… I haven’t received any magazines this week, so maybe I won’t have a project this coming week… I know she wishes she could do more than she does, but I’m always amazed. She made placemats and napkins for my sister’s motor home recently, plus she is always working on the neck comfort pillows.
Enjoy today!
