Just checking back here real quick, looking tonsee any newa from Lyn, today.

This Peddlar Show, is not antiques, just new stuff. Lots of jewelry, wearing apparel, outdoor things, shoes, food things like dip mixes, candles, and on and on. Just lots of things. Hope to see the booth with the outdoor flags, I love those.

Blizzy. Gook luck with you goat "kids" - :) They really are like little children. LOL Down here, there is a community experimenting with using goats to prevent wild fires. They eat the underbrush down and therefore puts the risk lower. Very good idea, I say!!!

Have more fun today than ever!!!

Good morning all! Just starting to get my act together. After watching my Fox news Biz Block show I think I will go to town to get out of the house a little. I Think what bothers me the most with DH passing is the quiet. He was hard of hearing so played his TV loud. In the morning if I wasn't up sometimes he would yell "I'm getting hungry". LOL I really miss that. Pepper is still trying to figure out where DAD has gone. She gets on his bed and sleeps, but she looks so lost. The last couple of days she has lost her appetite and am having trouble getting her to eat. Any suggestions? I hold her a lot and tell her I know what she is feeling and then I cry. Sorry I went on so, but I know you all will understand.

My son left Houston for Goshen Indiana and his new job yesterday. Please keep him in your thoughts for a safe trip. I know in my heart that this is part of God's plan for him to be closer to me. I just wish Harold was here to enjoy it also.

Suzette - I know what you mean about dogs. They sure know how to win our hearts and get us to do their bidding. I am sure your nephew will understand if you don't get to the shower. Take care of yourself first. Hope you feel better soon.

Teresa - Hope your mouth starts to feel better soon. I think tooth problems are some of the worst hurts.

Izzy - I am looking forward to pictures of your new baby goats or did I miss them?

Velda - Sounds like the Peddler Show would be fun. I know they have one in Toledo a couple times a year. I may have to go next time just to see it.

Maryz - Will be praying for Terry and her family at this time of their sorrow. I need to get Dear Jane out again. It has been so long she probably thinks I don't care about her.

Lois - I am curious. What is a flannel bucket?

Well hope everyone has a good day and gets to do some sewing. Next week we are going to go back to cold weather. Yippee!! I think the next time snow shows up I am going to take up drinking Bloody Mary's. LOL

Morning All!

It is 34 here but SUNNY! I was outside earlier without my jacket trying to find where the dog hid her bowl for food. Walked the yard for a bit and then discovered it in her doghouse. Breakfast in bed maybe?

I am going to hurry through this because the DGS is going to visit. I did get some mending done and the Velcro tabs on the bibs. Then, it got put away. He loves to push buttons, pull things, and turn knobs. Imagine what that would do to a machine!

TERESA K - I can't decided what would be worse - the toothache or the pain afterwards. I have had several pulled and, knock on wood, no issues. Lucky me! As for the March lotto, maybe that could be put into April for April Showers. Just a thought.

SUZETTE - Maytag Mambo sounds so much more exciting than doing laundry. I have a dog that barks at rain hitting the windows, the vent for the exhaust fan on the stove, and so on. Drives my DH nuts.

LOIS - Flannel Bucket sounds interesting. Hope you find something exciting.

MARYZ - Four Dear Jane blocks is a miracle!! Prayers for Jim's wife, Terry, are being said. As for you neighbor and his awning - he should have known better. I have seen others do this and thought, are you NUTS?

VELDA - A peddle show at Corpus? I want to leave RIGHT NOW! Your sewing group sounds like lots of fun!!!!

LEAH - Anger can be very scary. What works one time to calm someone down may not work the next time. PRAYERS for your sanity.

IZZY - 47 degrees sounds so good! We are at 34 and it is nice. But, we will be getting our usual 1" - 3" of snow within a few days again. How fun. :( Listening to you talk about your goats makes me miss our sheep. I sure don't miss them when the dummies would get out.

KATHY - Lucky you - a knitting class! I have wanted to sign up for classes but time isn't always on my side. Too many doctor's appointment.

Well, our little guy is here so I am going to spend time with him.

Talk to you later!
Diana

A quick Hello.
The insurance adjustor was at the house yesterday. I think it went well. Though he kept referring to our hardwood floor as Laminate floor. We had kept everything on our remodel of kitchen and I pulled out the paperwork that showed what everything cost. He changed his tune when I showed him the floor was over $4,000. It is in the kitchen, dining room, runs into the edge of living room and into the hallway. I did research last night. They don't make our floor model anymore. The whole floor will have to be replaced. I'm starting a list of damaged equipment in the garage, so I can research what replacement cost will be.

On hold until one more test is done, hopefully today. Then they can start to pull up the floor and remove the drywall.

Stayed at a hotel here again last night. I didn't leave the house until after dark and need to be here if the guy shows up for test.

MIL is slipping again. Guess she only ate some yogurt yesterday.

Back at it, prayers to ya'll.
Lyn

Teresa - if your tooth hole is on the lower jaw it could very well be a dry socket and they are SO painful. I hope you get relief soon.

Suz - is the fatigue due to your treatment? I think they will understand if you miss the shower. Personally I think you should stay home and rest today especially since the dogs ruined your sleep.

Lois - have fun shopping. I detest shopping and buying clothes is depressing. It's my own fault - if I'd lose some fluff it might be more fun. LOL

Maryz - so sad about Terry's sister. And she lived to be 70 even with the brain damage. FPP = foundation paper piecing. We lost our awning once but there was no weather forecasted - it was just a freak twister that came out of nowhere. That's a whole nuther story. I'm glad you and Jane are having a good visit.

Velda - we have such cute flip-flops here in TX because we usually have 7 months out of a year to wear them! Enjoy the Peddler show - I use to go when it came here twice a year but haven't been in a while. That's because I save all my money for the quilt show and you know first hand why that is!! LOL

Scrap - sorry you have to deal with the neighbors. I'd be scared myself but then I'm a big chicken.

Izzzy - you have a great day planned. Have fun.

Kathy - enjoy your knitting class and your 'no snow' days.

Judi - I'm guessing I missed something having to do with RV awnings. We always keep ours tipped, too.

Well, I'm here drinking coffee, waiting to hear from my DH who went for a CT scan at 7:30 and then he was going in to work for a while. Later we will be taking my oldest DD to Pearland (about an hour away) to drop her off and visit with our grandson. So I'm off to the shower and to try and work a miracle. Then I'll sew until time to go.

I hope we all get to fondle fabric this morning.

Good Morning Girls

Gosh I feel like I have been gone for so long! Missed you all and catching up with everybody! We got hit with a major storm on Thursday... 1st came the ice/rain, then 10" of heavy wet snow and high winds. Made the drive to and from work very interesting to say the least. Was 15 minutes late yesterday and they were just starting to worry about me when I got there, as I am NEVER late for work! The news says it will be a week before our roads are back to normal. It's still so darn cold that even the salt and sand they put down doesn't work.

Today is my Brother's Indoor Picnic and I had all good intentions of making Mom's potato salad, but never had a chance to get to the grocery store... so on the way today, I'm stopping at the Deli!

Teresa.... so sorry to hear you are having such problems with your tooth! Hope they can get in first thing Monday morning to check it out! Tooth Pain is NO FUN! (but what kind of pain is?) Am going to go stash diving this weekend for rainbow colors and see what I can come up with!

Izzy... You must have had quite a burst of energy to get all the house cleaned! Care to share? If it weren't for going to brother's picnic today I would be doing the same thing... scrubbing floors, dusting and vac'ing. Then I could sew ALL DAY TOMORROW!

Velda... that Peddler show sounds like so much fun!!! Probably good I live so far away or I'd be tempted to join you! I've been thinking about Lyn and hoping that once she's there, that things won't be as bad as she expected! I've been to Estes Park and it's such a beautiful area!

Suzette.... I think your body is telling you something... REST and/or nap! Take things slowly! It's my belief that a body heals better when it's resting. I bet you are looking forward to being DONE with treatments!

Lois... what are making from your flannel bucket? I have a box full of flannel too, but it's hidden in a corner that I can't get to! We have a couple more babies on the way at work.. I'll have to dig it out soon to make some baby burp clothes!

Maryz.... Terry is in my thoughts and prayers today! Are you having a most wonderful time hanging out the Autumn? Am so counting the days til I fly to AK and smother by babies with kisses! Jen sends me little video's of Eli walking all over the place. I think Nana will have to take him shopping for some shoes!

Kathy... .Are you knitting yourself a sweater! You must post a picture when it's all done! I'm still trying to decide what block to make for the red/white swap, and if I should make all the same or some different ones. I really need to concentrate on getting Jen's quilt done, but I have ADD when it comes to quilting, so there's always a few things going on at the same time!

Sherry... If you're making Bloody Mary's.... make one for me too! When I finally got home from work last night I was going to pour myself a glass of wine.. but instead I just crashed. This winter has gone on toooooo long. No doubt it will take a little while to get used the quiet at your house! How far will your son be from you when he moves to IN? He will be in prayers too for safe journey!

Diana... Enjoy your day with the little one!

Lyn....Good thing you kept all those papers from the re-model! Insurance companies will LOVE to pay you as little as they can--even tho you've been paying premiums for years! Was there mold there too? I've heard that mold is a huge problem for a lot of folks that got hit by the floods.

Cindyg... Have been thinking about Don---sure hope all goes well with his scan this morning. Don't you just love when insurance companies can make choices about your health care--and not the Doctor! Will it take a while for results to come back?

Guess it's time for me to get motivated here, clean up a couple little messes then get ready for the picnic. Will be a slippery drive to my brothers, but at least he lives only 15 miles away...I'll just go very slow!!!

Wishing you all most wonderful day and may you be covered in threads by the end of it!

Will be brief.
Did some sewing yesterday. Finished up the braid top for the merriman house. Have some other things to do and then it will be sent off to be quilted.

DGS was taken to hospital at some point in the last few hours. He's the one we nearly lost when he was about 1. Sounds like it could be the same type problem. Any extra prayers would be appreciated.

Sandy, off to do a fly through and get ready for what may arise.

Good morning...happy Saturday.

O'Dorothy, glad you're having fun...

Jana.. I like giraffes too... funny about the camels..

Teresa, hope you feel better soon... you should post in the picture section where everyone who has made a lotto quilt can post their creations.. you've been doing this for a long long time...I bet there are scads of them out there.

Suzette, hope you enjoy the baby shower or the quilting...

Lois, I hate jean shopping.. I have long legs so everything is too short, or they are straight legged and make me look like an upside down triangle... hope you have better luck.

Maryz.. I do have an extra prayer to spare.. you really are going wild on the Jane blocks.. have you run out of projects or do you just fell the Jane vibe? hwo is your DD visit going?

Velda, there's really a talented group of ladies where you are.. what fun to see so many creations...

Leah, lots going on where you are.. hope things calm down.

Izzy... you are a busy girl... after reading all you do I think I need a nap.

Kathy, how cool knitting a sweater.. I never got that far with knitting.. but I can crochet (one stitch only) a lop sided afghan...

Judi, sorry your post went with the wind... I will imagine all the wonderful things you wrote to me...

Sherry, I am glad your son is on his way, how long will the trip take? will he live with you or near you? it will be good to have him near..I am sorry the house is so quiet.. if your son weren't going to show up I'd suggest getting a parrot..now that would be noisy...prayers for you...

Diana, I hope DGS has lots of buttons and things to push.. he sounds adorable.

Lyn, so much going on for you.. prayers that it all works out...

Cindy, have you seen the flip flops with bling? they are $30 or more a pair for rhinestones...

Maryq.. had I known it was indoor picnic day I would have made a macaroni salad.. drat... have fun..

Sandy, prayers fro DGS

for me it's time for a shower then to sew.. I really need to get my machine in to be serviced on Monday so I can have it by next weekend.. I tried doing it myself but something isn't quite right...

you all have a fun day

I'm just counting down the minutes to Emily's recital.... She left a bit ago to have her hair done. She was beautiful in her black and purple gown.

I'm still a bit under the weather but hopeful soon I will be myself again.
