Suz - sorry your treatments will be longer now. How much longer until you are through? I'll go look at baby quilt when I'm done here. Never mind my question about your treatments....I read further and saw that March 6th is the last day.

Maryz - I guess your son-in-law does that - eat before coming over for dinner. He sounds like a strange duck or else he just doesn't like your cooking - LOL. Am I stirring the pot? Did you check out that quilt shop that is close to you?

Lois - did I miss it - what are you training for? When I make a generic quilt for a baby it's usually pastel green, yellow and white. These days they find out so early what gender the baby is so we should have plenty of time to make a quilt with appropriate colors. Trouble is that the mom's usually want one to blend in with the nursery colors so that means more waiting time to find out what they want. Generic is just easier.

Scrap - you need to come south to get good enchiladas - yummy!

Judi - how interesting that you are reading Nancy Zieman's biography. She's been around a long time. I always wonder why her face is crooked. The only thing I can think of is that she has the permanent Bells Palsy. If you find out different, let me know. When you move to the next campground will you at least have electricity and water? You're going to cook your bacon outside - you and Sue.

Vicky - kiss and hug those babies for me. I know you'll enjoy them being there....unless you aren't feeling well yet. I'm hoping you are.

Chriss - no word on Don's appointments yet but the gal at the doctor's office said they should hear no later than this morning. Quads, huh? Well, I was a pretty good quad skater. It's great lower body exercise. The roller rink where Gavin had his party has seniors day but it's on a week day so that leaves me out.

Maryq - your weather is really "ker schtunken", I would really hate it and, therefore, I feel sorry for you. Actually I feel sorry for everybody who has to live with snow and ice. I remember your family's indoor picnic. What a great idea. Be sure and wash/soak your red fabrics in vinegar.

Nothing new here. Last night I worked a while on cutting fabric and putting it back together for a springtime tote. I have to cook dinner tonight but after that I'll be in my sewing hole (slowly) working on that tote. I can't wait for the weekend. I hate the alarm clock!

I hope we can all fondle some fabric today.

Afternoon girls

Thank you all for all your thoughts and prayers over the last few weeks, especially on Tuesday. The funeral went off well, it was quite overwhelming, there was well over 500 people there. My sister and her ex husband both spoke beautifully about Oliver as did his brother......it was painful but beautiful, if you can call a funeral that....and when we got to the crematorium, all his friends and work colleagues lined the long walk upto the crematorium, and his dad, brother, granddad and 3 best friends got his coffin out of the hearse and carried it to the crem, just at the moment that a beautiful rainbow broke out in the sky.......

Yesterday I got a wonderful surprise, Ross bought me a picture of Elvis made entirely out of broken records, he wanted to see me smile again, I’d seen the picture in the gallery and fell in love with it and he and Charley bought it a couple of weeks ago and surprised me with it yesterday.......I also got my tattoo yesterday :)

Suze – its amazing that they can send out amber alerts to everyones phones, glad it was resolved quickly and everyone is ok....good luck with the radiation xx

Maryz – I sometimes wonder where guys put all the food they eat :) have fun finishing the retirement quilt and I can’t believe you’re going back to Crazy Jane – you must be mad woman LOL

Lois – yellow and blue is nice for a baby, especially when you don’t know the sex :)

Scrap – hi, has the weather started to warm up for you?

Grammie – I can smell the bacon from here :) can’t wait to see your pictures

Vicky – hope you are back to full health soon and your Sylvia blocks sounds divine, can’t wait to see it, have fun with Tia and the grandchildren :)

Chriss – sounds like you had a bargain yesterday....I need to go out and pick up some reds :)

Maryq – I can’t wait for those 40 days to pass for you, just remember if she does nothing to sort herself out it’s HER problem, not yours, she is not your responsibility, just make sure she goes and I’ll be dancing with you on that day :)

Well today is the day. I'm in Colorado, at my parents house in Fort Collins. After a couple cups of coffee I'm headed up the mountain to the house. May get held up in the Big Thompson canyon. I understand they are working on it, so traffic is slowed and sometimes stopped.

DH's mother is back at her memory care home and sounds like she is doing a little better.

Good day to all.

Good morning from the wind-swept plains… Our temperatures are dropping, and wind gusts are up to 40 mph! No campers here unless they are tied down! It sounds like the roof is coming off. We only had the 70 degrees one day. Yesterday was around 60. You never know how to dress around here.

The sky is getting dark; we may get some rain. The poor dogs jump at the wind gusts blowing the deck furniture around. I've turned all the chairs over so they won't blow into the windows. Batten the hatches...

I’m hoping to stay home today. DH has to go to a rental. Same old-same old… I’m really hoping he gets rid of the bunch that have moved in there. It’s supposed to be one person, but I’m convinced it is at least 5 people there. What a pain!

Jules—I think a funeral can be a beautiful thing. I think the rainbow was a sign. What tattoo did you get?

CindyG—yes, Nancy Zieman had Bell’s Palsy. She talked about it on one of her shows. One of the girls I worked with came down with it. It is aggravated by stress.

MaryZ—I would eat enchiladas with you and not have BBQ first!

I am going to post this and fix brunch. With the high winds, the internet may be intermittent. DH will be home soon, ready to eat and thinking about his rental chore—a leak from the apartment above.

Enjoy today!

Good morning!

DH and I have been working on the new kitchen plans - worked out several of the kinks and came up with a few more! Sheesh! Went to look at pictures of the kitchen I left in California - Michael took pictures of the whole house as we left - but guess what he forgot to take - my kitchen! So now we are hunting the up the file that has all the sales information from our real estate agent - she sent us all that stuff - that may be the only final completed pictures I have! Uggh! We were hoping to show the cabinet maker that kitchen, giving him a sense of the style we want. Oh well.......

Sarah, Crenda and all the grands have gone to the Zoo today - the boys needed to get out and have a place to run! Too muddy in all of our yards right now. Crenda was ready to drown her oldest - he went out in the mud and made mud balls and practiced pitching them against the brand new house stucco wall! So now there are little splotches all over the outside of the new house. All the outside water is turned off for the winter - so the house has measles! LOL

I have been washing my reds for the swap - washing and washing and washing - still they are bleeding - so I tried the vinegar - still no luck - so I am off to Jo Ann's to get some Retayne - or a whole new batch of red fabric!

The cabinet maker came back with the estimate for my quilt cupboard - way high - so we are thinking of other things - I may go antiquing and find a old cabinet that will work - fun exploring old shops.

Well I have a book here and DH is wanting more input from me on the kitchen - he has ideas that I totally object too - so I need to set him straight on what goes in "MY" kitchen! LOL

Have a great day and do something fun!
Hugs
Jana

Good afternoon all. Just a quick stop in and then go get some lunch. I will read all of your posts a little later. It has been a hectic 2 days. I went to Urgent Care yesterday since I couldn't get in to my doctor. Found out I have severe bronchitis and not just a cold. Got some medicine for it and now I am hibernating for a few days. Last night Pepper my beagle kept me up all night with her problems. I took her to the vet this morning thinking her kidney disease had gotten worse and might have to put her down today. Thank God it was only an ear infection and got medicine for it. Since DH just passed 12 days ago I am not ready to lose my Pepper also. I think God knows that also. Am glad it was not serious. I think I am going to go into a cave and will come out in 2015 the way this year has started.

I also want to thank you for the cards and fabric that I have received. You are all a great group of El's Angels.

Morning.....

I'm cranky now! I could not find the church for the WW meeting. I drove around. The side streets are so twisty & turny. I was so ready after waiting 3 weeks. I'll call the church & ask them where they are.

I'm going to sew while I wait for my desk to be delivered.

Suzette....you quilt is so cute! That was very interesting about the Amber Alert so happy the girl was found.

Maryz...I've had TX BBQ with out any sauce it was so so good. But not before I'm going to someones house for dinner. Man! Crazy Jane is right. Now that I've had a good look at the book...that quilt will make you crazy.

Lois....happy last work day! How exciting going to a new job. Good luck with your training. Those are great colors for a baby quilt...I've used them.

Lea....is your snow melting. It's 35' today hope some melting is going on.

Judi....vacation!!! You can do what ever you want...OH....just like me at home. But no warm weather or ocean. Love the smell of bacon.

Vicky.....I'm so happy you are feeling better. Enjoy the time with your grands.

Chriss....I'm dreaming in red fabric. I need to buy some soon.

Love & Prayers.......Kathy

Good afternoon! O rat least, I think it is a good one.

DH had a doctor's appointment this morning so we were on the road early. We had to pay our accountant for the taxes and pick them up. Then off to lunch. Had very yummy pizza. Even brought some home for later.

DH's appointment didn't g so well. He has an infection in his leg, again, so back onto the antibiotics we go. Since everything is sent to the pharmacy by email, we are waiting for the things to go through.

We also got a call from our wireless carrier informing us that we had not paid our bill. WRONG! I sent it out 2 weeks ago and it has cleared the bank. So, spent time on the phone getting that straightened out.

SUZETTE - Amber alerts by phone would be a great idea. Glad that your time is getting shorter for the radiation.

MARYZ - Black bean veggie enchiladas sound interesting. A SIL that eats before he gets there is a little annoying. I have people in my family that does the very thing. At least he did eat. These folks won't eat when they get there because they aren't hungry. I take it to mean they don't like my cooking. Good luck with the Crazy Jane quilt.

LOIS - enjoy the last day of work and best of luck with the new job. Please share a picture of the hunter's star.

LEAH - Have a good day.

JUDI - Bacon at a campground is a wonderful smell. That's true camping smell! Cool, foggy, but no snow! Way to go!!

PURRFECT-LADY - welcome back.

VICKY - I sure hope that you are getting stronger. Grandkids can be so much fun and tiring at the same time. Enjoy the visit.

CHRISS - Our little guy moved about 15 miles away. It isn't that far but far enough that we don't see him everyday. Come this summer and we can get our trike out, I am sure we will see him more. Lucky you - finding a QIAD ruler at such a great price!!!!!!!!!!!

MARYQ - Indoor Picnic sounds like a great plan. Decorate with lots of summer stuff. Oh, best of luck with the room mate issue. People who just don't understand that they are responsible for their own actions and behavior drive me crazy.

CINDYG - I have watched Nancy Zieman for years. She does have Bell's Palsy as a result of an ear infection as a very little girl. She was the sewing person I started watching first.

JULES - I would like to believe that the rainbow was Oliver telling everyone that he is OK. And, I love your tattoo!!!

LYN - Hoping your drive wasn't too bad and the house isn't as bad as it sounds.

FARMCHICK - Your temps were near 60 and ours highest has been in the 50's I think I will start watching your weather because we are getting what you had. Thunder storms, rain and wind today. snow flurries and junk tomorrow. At least we had a few days that were nicer than what we have been having!!!!!

JANA- Boys will be boys. Maybe he is practicing for baseball.

SHERRY - Hopefully you start feeling better soon. My cough turned out to be pneumonia. And My dog has kennel cough at the same time. (He hadn't been to a kennel in about a year.) You and Pepper need a great dose of SPRING Warmth that lasts more than one day!!

KATHY - WW is great but I found it too rich for me. I joined TOPS - taking pounds off sensibly. Much cheaper in the long run.

Have a great evening! Talk to you tomorrow!!

Diana
