Good morning! My day didn’t go as I planned yesterday… what else is new? Odie and I walked out to where DH was cutting wood for his quail habitat and where Tinker Bell and Rennie were supervising and exploring. I made the mistake of taking a jug of lemonade and my work gloves… Several hours later, I’d pulled and stacked brush and stacked a rick of wood that is for a customer of DH’s. He is using the straight hedge tree posts for his fence to fence off the cattle from the quail habitat, stacking the brush for the quail cover and selling what is left to people who use wood for heating. For those of you who don’t know what a hedge tree is, it’s an Osage orange or Bois d’ Arc; with dense yellow wood, it has a very high heat rating. The down side is that it pops and sparks, and you either love it or hate it. It is called “hedge tree” in Kansas because settlers planted them around the edges of their fields for wind breaks. It was a beautiful day—70 degrees. I can’t believe it was in the minuses only a couple of weeks ago. Some of the oak trees even had started budding out. No wonder I needed a Benadryl. I have no idea what today will bring.

Best wishes to everyone!

Happy Hump Day to everyone also. My DGS, who is almost 3, would have the most fun saying "Hump Day" is a funny voice. We really miss seeing him everyday. They lived with us for most of 2 1/2 years.

LOIS - errands and shopping - I sure hope there is some fabric time in that list!

LEAH - Melting snow is so messy but I can't say that I am sorry to see it go. I have done the Goggle Search thing with my name. I guess that I am also a famous gospel singer in my alternate life. Who knew?

VICKY - Listen to your body. If you get tired, rest. I keep telling my DH to do the same thing. Sometimes he listens, sometimes he doesn't. PLEASE, do not overdo.

LYN - Praying for safe travels and good news with the insurance adjuster.

JUDI - Blowing your diet once in awhile is a good thing. Your body gets so excited for the extra calories that it burns them off with great joy. (That is my idea anyway.) Gym time sounds great. We have a Y with a few miles but the monthly payment is not in the budget. :(

DEBI - A 3 year old car with several cracked seals and needing a new condenser does NOT sound normal. DH sounds like a jewel with suggesting cabinets for your stash. (Mine does the same thing.)

CHRISS - Sorry, I haven't found your little pink scissors but I will keep looking.

KATHY - A new desk sounds exciting! (Can you tell that I lead a very boring life?)

SHARONA - When the internet comes back up, stop by and check out the action!

Time for me to get things going around here. Meaning - cleaning up any mess that I have made in the last few days, months, years, .....

Have a good one!!
Diana

Lois - how is your foot?

Scrap - it's downright scary how easy it is for people to find out so much about us and without our knowledge.

Suz - sorry you have breast cancer and it's getting in the way of your quilting. Better to get well and then get back to the quilting.

Vicky - what is making you so exhausted? The illness or the medication? I hope you have a wonderful visit with Tia. Tell her "hello".

Lyn - I hope you can take care of the business quickly. I'm so sorry you are having to deal with the mess at all.

Judi - sorry about the jack. It wouldn't be camping if Don didn't have to fix or work on something - LOL.

Debi - good luck with arranging your sewing space. Mine is so small - only about 11' X 11' and I have a sewing cabinet in there with my sewing machine in the hole and my embroidery machine on the side extension, a huge cutting table, two book shelves on either side of the window for fabric storage and an ironing board and all that just about takes up my floor space. No way could I fit out long arm in there at it's 12' long. I hope you car won't be a problem for you.

Chriss - the skating - is it in-line skates or the wheel-on-4-corners skates? I never did in-line skating but I sure did roller skating. Last time I was at the roller rink most of the kids had in-line skates. thanks for the prayers.

Kathy - you told me something I didn't know...about the black fabric being harder to push the needle thru. Why is that do you think?

With me it's just the same old same old. I've only got two more blocks to do the outlining of the appliques on and then I will have no more handwork/TV work to do. Darn!

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Sharona - shutting the power off in the study means something is getting worked on, right?

Chickie - take that Benadryl! Pine and Oak (actually any) pollen really set me off but I have found that taking one Benadryl before bed kind of acts like a preventative. You might try that.

Diana - have fun cleaning up your mess. When I try to do that I get distracted by something I have found that I forgot I had - LOL.

Hey y'all, thanks for all the prayers. We'll take all we can get.

Good afternoon. Everyone seems busy busy today. At work just finished lunch. I have not been in sewing room forever it seems. Tomorrow I go to dentist for the umpteen time LOL Hopefully I get my real teeth in for good. I plan to go to hancocks also to get some white on white for swap and maybe some reds lol:) who know once I am in there :))

Twotone still at bat no babies yet. Stargazer is lame and I had to run to vet to get shots for her. Her back leg is not working not sure if buck hit her or what so now have her in a pin awaiting verdict of 3 day shot regimine. I am afraid may be out of socket or broke wont know just yet. She is not acting like in pain. so we have to wait on shots first. If broke I will have to put her down. So sad she is a Aurora's momma from this summer.

Never a dull moment on farm LOL

Chickie I too am loving warm weather we really need to send to our friends on East coast huh. Sorry you all still getting snow.

Good Morning, Quick run thru.

Lyn, hope the ins comes thru for you. Prayers for strength and courage as you face the mess in your beloved home. I am so sorry to read about this.

Vicky, Prayers that healing will begin for you today. Has your dr run a thyroid test on you? That can make you super tired too. Mine was borderline low and finally a dr put me on thyroid meds. Made a world of diff for me. May God bring you comfort and strength in the days ahead. Take care of yourself.

Too many to reply to today but I have you all in my prayers that God will provide for all your needs, whatever they might be.

I finally will get to see my new PCP (primary dr) tomorrow. It will be a new patient but also a follow/up to my ER visit last wed. Still don't feel the best don't know why. Have heart dr apt on 3rd of March too. My drs in AZ were a joke and didn't even bother to read or call me about my blood tests, let slone anything else.

Rod's skin cancer surgeries are all done but one and those are healing very nicely. The one on his ear looks awful just from the biopsy. Waiting for a specialist to work on that one. Located in the cartilage at inside top of ear so no one else wants to touch it. VA is really getting on top of all his med tests, blood tests he needs, etc. I am impressed with this VA, one of the better ones we have been in. Hope medicare drs here are that good too.

Please keep us in your prayers. I do read when I can but just don't feel up to posting some days or too busy. One of my DGD's here wants to learn to quilt. She is almost 21 and is fascinated with the quilts on my beds and the colorful stash I have accumulated. Other GDG shows no interest.

But I had to laugh at my DIL here. She ask if it would be ok if she brought her sewing machine and some stuff over to work on while the guys are watching Nascar this season. OK? I was exstatic but tried to control my enthusiasm by not jumping up and down and yelling YEs, YEs, Yes. DIL is a real sweetheart, we have so much in common, and have fun together, shopping etc, She knows a little about quilting but wants to learn more. I guess this is going to be a two for one deal on teaching someone what little I know about quilting. LOL

Need to scoot. Rod went shopping. He is making a big pot of chili for potluck tomorrow. Since senior community, ladies ask him to please not make it too spicy for their "tender" tummies. They are all bringing sour cream, cheese, etc to tone it down some too. LOL And one lady told me they have ice cream and fudge topping for dessert. That is tomorrow after my drs apptmt. Hope I feel like going.

May God bless you all today and always. Love and hugs, Shirley Mae

Tia didn't end up coming today, we had freezing rain this morning and the two of us decided it would be safer for her to come tomorrow.
Emily and I ran to staples to print her programs for her recital. They did not turn out all that well and she is disappointed, their machines couldn't center the programs. Oh well most people just throw them out anyway...
She took me out to lunch to Wendys and I got a baked potato and that's it. The only thing that really sits are potatoes and chicken, strange.

Good morning all.

Here at work with the new person. It is a guy....not too sure how this is going to work out. I doubt he will be able to take the "down" time we have around here. He is already antsy! Oh well, we shall see how it goes.

We have a pot-luck today, actually in an hour or so. No fun....the commander will be there as well as all the other "higher ups". I'd just as soon sit here in my dungeon.

Maryz, we were in the Cedar Park/Leander area of Austin. The first day we were there was absolutely gorgeous. Of course, the next day, it got cold and rainy. Hope the weather is cooperating for you.

I had to go to the eye doctor yesterday afternoon. I can't believe it has been four years since I had my eyes examined. Prescription has not changed too much, so that is a good thing. Ordered new glasses...$250 out of pocket, Yikes! Good thing I have vision insurance. I would not have been able to afford the full price of a new pair, LOL.

Well, time to get busy here. Just wanted to pop in and say hello.

Hope you all have a great rest-of-the-day!

Hugs and prayers,
Mel
