I started a nice letter to post, then I hit the wrong key and it disappeared. So, now for the short one.

We did get more snow last night also. This time it was only about 3" or so. But we had a strong wind so our drifts are higher than ever. School is cancelled again fro about the 18th time this winter. I am so glad that I retired!!

We plan to go to Muncie about 20 miles from us for bill paying and then I have to go get some sewing supplies. I know I have what I need here but not sure where they went. I am like most of you getting ready for a vacation! Can't wait to go fondle some fabric!

Talk to you later -

Diana

Good Cloudy Morning....snow this afternoon!!

Love & Prayers to Jules & her family today((((((HUGS)))))

"They" say 3" to 6" more after 12pm. I'm home for the day. I don't know if my head can make it 2 weeks for my new glasses. I'm going around the house with out my old ones. To me its not worth the $$$ for a pair with updated lenses. It wouldn't help now anyways. I'll trying sew today.

Suzette....sorry you have more snow. Send it to me. I agree it's OK to bring the top & take it home to finish.

Lois....have a fast & smooth work day!

Lea....I hope you don't have flooding. It's such a nasty mess.

Vicky....you sound better today...Yes??? I hope so!

Judi....I know your feeling better with the warmer weather. I miss the ocean sound & smell. I see my neighbors went to FL for Jan & have not come back. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!

Maryz.....why are you not sleeping?? Having too much fun? I'm so happy you are going closer to your DD & a quilt shop. What a surprise for you DH a little job on the way. Sorry about your RV shelter.

Chriss......Hip Hip Hooray.....the red & whit is underway!! I'm ready! How fun a Birthday party...regular skating? Or ice?

Velda...I'm happy you are having warmer weather.

Debi......babies may come as a blank space but the smarten up real fast. It might because I live alone but I put together my sewing room first.

Kathy2....sorry about you snow. I saw more Robins yesterday. I like CW fabric...I have a swap from my old LQS I'm putting together next. Can't wait to see your.

Diana.....where do our post go? We've lost so many posts it would be fun to read them all.

Love & Prayers to all in need.......Kathy

Suz - sorry you aren't back to sleep along with your dogs. Maybe you'll get that baby quilt done. You've still got 4 days.

Lois - sorry you and I have to work today. When I get home I won't relax because I was bad over the weekend and didn't do any laundry so that's on the agenda again tonight as well as dinner and some sewing.

Scrap - oh, I hope your sewer doesn't back up. I don't know what I'd do either - GAG.

Vicky - hopefully your snow will melt slowly and you won't flood. I'm glad you are feeling better. It would be really hard for me to make a Harley Eagle quilt because I don't know the first thing about a Harley Eagle so I wish you luck in making that quilt.

Judi - while you are at the ocean will you have a seafood lunch - yummy! And the rest of the day relaxing and sewing - sounds like a plan to me.

Maryz - I see Bill told you when you are leaving. Be careful during your move today. Sorry your RV house is ruined. Seems like y'all just put it up.

Chriss - I'm so glad you are going to work today. Makes me feel better about being here at my job. LOL What kind of skating will the girls be doing?

Velda - when are you leaving? It's looking more and more like we won't be able to get together this time. I'm glad though that you are finally getting some warmer weather. We've had the A/C going the past few days. Crazy weather.

Debi - you've got it all bass-ackwards, girlfriend. The sewing room should have been the first thing to set up.

Kathy2 - at least temps in the 40's will melt the ice and snow, right. What pattern are you using for your Civil War quilt?

Well, we had our doctor appointment yesterday concerning Don's prostrate cancer. It's too far advanced for the 'wait and see' approach so the other options are radiation or surgery to remove the prostate. Before we can make any decisions he has to have a bone scan and CAT scan on the lower body to see if the cancer has spread. Prostate cancer usually goes to the bones and lymph nodes. If those scans are clear then Don is opting to have his prostate removed via robotic surgery. Doctor's office is trying to get both scans approved with the insurance company and once that's done they will call and then Don can set up his scan appointments. I'm hoping that will be done toward the end of the week. So, for now, we sit and wait. Medical wheels turn very slowly! Last night we had left overs for dinner, I did one load of laundry and then sat on my hind end doing the outline on the applique and sort of watched the Olympics. Tonight's dinner is in the crock pot. I'll do laundry and sew, too. Same old same old.

I hope we can all fondle some fabric today.

Good morning everyone. Seems like the winter just want to make sure we don't forget it. Heck it will be July before all the snow melts. All you mid westerners and east coasters please stay safe today.
Today Myles is eleven. Ironic that when he was 6 and diagnosed with Chron's disease that the doctors said he would be about 11 or 12 and need surgery. One week from today if all goes to plan he will have that surgery, then we will get the blood issue straightened care of and the on to a beautiful spring and summer.
Mo left to go back to NC this morning. Off to Norway on the 28, if once again, all goes to plan.
I found this incredible, easy, quick cinnamon bun recipe. If you are a member of cooks illustrated you can find it there, but I went to www.kitchenmeetsgirl.com. And typed in quick cinnamon buns . Our daughter in law made then yesterday, tonight I will try them. The one she rought us was delicious.
Torrie is doing well. Two chemo treatments left and done.
I still have t started the yoyo's but I am determined to give them a try.
Wishing everyone safe travels
Prayers and positive thoughts going out to all in need
PINK warriors yiu rock!!!!!!!!

Suzette - Don't stress over getting the quilt done. The fact that you are doing one is awesome, with all that is on your plate.

Maryz - Stinkin' weather and all the problems it can cause. Glad there is not more damage. Still hope we can find a way to meet for that lunch.

Leah - If the sewer backs up, there's not much you can do but make sure you have things up off the floor.

THANK YOU ALL for your warm thoughts, prayers and listen (reading) my mess.

I know you all want the snow to go quickly, but watch what you wish for. Too fast and we will be having flooding conversations about your homes.

We had more bad news last night about DH's mother. She is 92 and has been a home for memory loss. She came down sick with a cold, it wasn't getting better so took her to the hospital. Thoughts she was improving, but turned downhill again. She's having trouble swallowing and her white count isn't improving. Years ago DH's parents made it well known that they didn't want feeding tubes or anything like that. They are taking her back to the memory care home today and will have Hospice help with her. Usually you can't understand what she is saying, but Sunday she told her daughter (my wonderful sweet SIL) very clearly "I want to go home". Not sure if she meant here or heaven. She has not been an easy mother to love and DH is not real close. But no matter what, it's hard to see a loved one fading.

I think insurance will pay. Plumber says it was a pipe failure on hot water heating system, not freezing. Called a company and they put dehumidifiers and heaters in. They can't do more until drywall is tested for asbestos. Grrr I'm flying back. DH finally agreed that one of us needs to be there. The insurance is wanting a detailed list of loss and I have know way of knowing unless I can see first hand.

I tried to make reservations last night, but it was late and I was falling asleep at my tablet.

I'm sure several have posted while I was writing this book. lol May everyone have a good day!
Lyn

Cindyg - Prayers for Don that it hasn't spread.

Chrissy1 - Prayers for Myles. It doesn't seem possible that he's 11 already. Happy Birthday to him. Time flys.

Good morning!
Not much brewing around here except for my coffee. We've had some beautiful weather out here...mid to high 70's. I'm worried about the summer weather already, we're liable to hit 199 degrees!

Sherry, Rio Bravo is one of my DH's favorite movies. He bought it this last dec. with a gift cert. from Barnes and Noble. Is the song your DH liked called, My rifle, my pony and me? I told my DH about the song and he ran to play the movie...again!

Judi, I love the ocean too. In my next life I'll come back as a millionaire and have a house overlooking the ocean with my own private beach, sigh!

Jules, do you feel our vibes? my eyes are swelling with tears.

I need to start making receiving blankets and a diaper clutch and finish knitting a diagonal blanket in light gray for nieces' baby
due March 12. His name will be Cash Clayton Porter. His 2 yr old sister calls him baby Cash.

Maryz, I caught DH looking at some RV's on the internet and I just rolled my eyes. He only has a license to ride a motorcycle. I don't think RV'ing is my cup of tea. Last time I drove a mid size RV was in May 1977 and I was 6 months pregnant...don't think so.

DH is up and I need to convince him that he wants a poached egg and multi grain toast for breakfast.

You're all in my daily meditation,

Lucie

Here is a picture of two of the blocks for my civil war quilt. The pattern came from the on line Fab shop hop a year ago or maybe 2 years ago. Ever so often they give out block patterns when you find the bunnies. These blocks were designed by different quilters.
The material is cotton club.
Yes Cindyg I hope part of the snow will melt.

Last night the "newbies" were here. We started on the Stars across America book. They have completed their first blocks. The 14 year old had some difficulties and stuck with it. Not bad since she is learning to sew and quilt at the same time. There was a lot of laughter and the parrot agreed with a lot of what was said.

This morning we have sunshine and blue skies. As I looked out the window I saw an Eagle fly over the house. Thought that was pretty neat. Our youngest son had seen one up the road less then 1/4 mile a few days ago. Also we have nesting areas close to us now.

We had more snow yesterday around 4 inches. Tomorrow we could have freezing rain and on Thursday more rain with the chance of thunder storms in the morning. In the afternoon thunderstorms with wind damage. I know a lot of you are tired of this weather, only I am enjoying it. It's the only weather I've got, and I can't change it so I might as well enjoy it. The snow is all sparkly and clean, it reminds me of white fairy frost. In a few weeks it be dirty and dingy and mud.

Possible trip to Rockford tomorrow for some background fabrics. Maybe a visit to a couple of other quilt stores. I am so going to corrupt Dori. Of course rain could delay the trip. We shall see and make the decision later tonight.

Sashing strips on the UGRR today? Or maybe something else..housework to do too.

Ann posted about quilts for Merriman shelter in Paduah. Hope you saw that in the chit chat thread.

Have a great day, make it a wonderful day if you can.

Sandy, with a big smile and much to do and a thankful heart for the many blessings.
