Re: Sunday February 9,2014
Good Sunday morning to everyone!
My plans for today are to attend a wedding expo since DD is planning on getting married this spring. The snow is a bit of concern with the driving, but we are so excited to do something as a Mommy and Daughter. Hopefully, time will be on my side so I can make some of her accessories.
Lois - Have fun doing all of those chores. YUK!
Suzette - I, too, am making baby gifts but at this point, I am crocheting or knitting. Plans are in the works for a wedding quilt, though.
Scrapquilter - the x-block is WOW!! Nice job!
Sooz - the Dresden plate is beautiful in batiks.
Maryz - Happy traveling in Texas. Hopefully, your weather is nicer there than it is here. Tons of snow on our end and still snowing.
Grammie - Hopefully the slides won't be frozen shut. The ones on our MH tend to freeze very easily. And driving something that big on snow and ice AIN'T NO FUN!!
Becca and Chrissie - Have fun with the projects you have planned.
Kathy - I love to knit too. No classes yet but someday..............

I'm staying home from church today
I did go to the grandchildren birthday party last night, that was a bit hard sitting there watching everyone eat lasagna and having tuxedo brownies... But I enjoyed just spending time with them all.
I'm going to be going back to bed here in a few minutes to rest. I never got into the sewing room yesterday as planned I spend a lot of hours just sleeping. I do feel a little better this morning, that's a good thing.
Have a good day, keep looking up!

Good morning... I had the funnest day yesterday...when Marilyn's friend went home she and I went shopping for some jeans for her... then bought my son a vacume cleaner... and went to my dad's... then my son showed up and we all had pizza... I had both my kids in one room... it was wonderful.
today Mar and I are going to game stop to turn in some old things and get some things she wants for her Wii... then if Richard is home we will take him his mail... he has his Disney stock check for $3 that he needs to cash... he has a whopping 4 shares...
Sharona, sorry about your friends son... I always wonder what the thought process is when something like that happens.
Sharon... amazing how clowns are supposed to be so funny and can be so scarry at the same time... the girl who spent the night ate uncooked top ramen. a few bites of ravioli, ice cream, and a fruit roll up in addition to her cereal...I was surprised she spent the night, her dad is really overprotective...
Chickie.. glad your birds are ready to take flight... I am excited to get my red and white swap started... but am being patient...
Maryz..hope you get lots of daughter time.. what fun...
Judi, Sophia is so blessed that you are making happy memories with her....
Sooz, great Dresden... very pretty.
Kathy, I tried knitting... I think I will stick with crocheting... although I don't do it too well...but it is fun to play with yarn.
hope you all have a marvelous day...
Chriss

There are too many people losing loved ones here! My heart goes out to each of you. This is a rough winter in so many more ways than weather. HUGS!!!
We are cloudy once again, and temperatures are going to be dropping with 30% chance of snow tonight. Same old song here…
I tried to hibernate—9 hours of sleep! No sun in the eyes to wake me, and the dogs snoozed in as well. I took my bone med, got the laundry started, put myself together and decided to drop in here with my coffee… Good morning to All!!!
Lois—I just got the laundry going after putting it off for almost too long. Hope you get to your sewing!
Chriss—how fun to have both of your kids at once! I’m sure your son appreciated his “gift”. I brought home pizza yesterday afternoon, too. I’m trying to decide on the red & white… It will require more fabric acquisitions…
Vicky—I do hope you will get to an urgent care or a doctor tomorrow! You don’t sound good at all, and it’s staying on way longer than the usual “bug”. HUGS!
SusieQ—Diana—It’s fun to do the mommy-daughter trips! I made everything for my DD’s wedding including her dress and the bridesmaid’s dresses. Best wishes to you!!! She gave me three months…
Kathy—The knitting class sounds like so much fun! So neat you made AG doll sweaters your first class! Isn’t it great when all ages get together for a common activity.
Becca—have a blessed Sunday!
Chrissy!—so good to hear you back and your computer woes behind you. I think I saw you posted Myles’ having a surgery? HUGS to him!!!
Judi—I remember when we were trying to build a house and they hadn’t gotten the foundation laid out at the time we were hoping to be in the house… It started raining in October (record amounts), then the mud, then it started snowing in December. I remember crying… Yuk, yuk, yuk! I wonder if/how much we are getting this afternoon… Yuck, yuk, yuk! I can’t wait to see your PP class results! Tell me the tricks, too!
Sooz—your Dresden is gorgeous!!! Batiks are my weakness. Now I want to shove everything else aside and make batik Dresdens… and fussy cut Dresdens… and everything else… sigh! You did a beautiful job!!!
MaryZ—I remember a few years ago how you couldn’t wait to hit the road; then you were ready to abandon ship and fly home. I’d be exactly the same. I love staying home. You’ll feel differently when you see Autumn!
Leah—your quilt is delightful!
Suzette—I really like your pink and chocolate quilt confection! What a dilemma—baby quilt? Wedding quilt? Good luck!
Have a blessed day!

Thanks for your comments, winter so hard on everyone, thought pictures could help uplift moral. I try to keep quiet on your loss, don't want to offend anyone at this time of loss. But it seem so unreal one day you enter hospice and next moment your gone, Winnipeg have lots of legal battles, for this type of story is far too common. Too many errors. A brother studied theology yrs ago, in Ohio-Stubenville financially found it hard.
This week will be a good one, with guild mtg, then quilt market.. -31C today, very sunny.. Anyday now this cold snap will let go..

Good afternoon. Just got in from church. Was up most night worried about my pup Mater didnt come home last night. Him and Lucy were out with DH chopping wood and running farm he is the gray Weinemeir no fur. I was sick with worry for him freezing. Well this am still no pup. Came home from church and there he was in the pin!!! amazing. Well DH thinks he was there the whole time way back in his lil igloo house curled up getting warm. It was late last night when I went down to put Lucy in I looked and didn't see him but he could have been way back in the hay. No matter I am just glad he is alive and well.
Chickie I agree so many lost this winter. Prayers going out to so many of you. I am just thankful they have us here to vent to and rely on for prayers. God is a marvelous God He gave us his son for our sins and for forgiveness and a gateway to heaven. I just pray HE will help each in their loss.
Without my faith I would be nothing more than a shell I can do all things through CHRIST. My prayers and thoughts go out for each of you.
Well gotta get dinner done and work on quilt top almost finished it yesterday such a quick and easy one:))
God bless and happy thoughts.

Hello.....
Can someone PM me Sherry's address? Thank you.
My blue sky is turning white....here come the snow. I'm ready!!
I've started the sleeves of the doll sweater. I'm taking a sewing break. I forgot the deep in the closet out of sight are 2 plastic carry cases with all BOM blocks from my Long Island LQS. I think I take them out & put one together.
Diana....This is my 1st class & it was free! Have a wonderful time with DD...hope the driving worked out.
Vicky.....Praying for health improvement for you. The 'bug' has been with you too long.
Chriss....what a happy day for you. I wonder if that will ever happen to me?
BBL.....Kathy

Well, I decided to start the baby quilt. I have most of the fabric cut out. The mom to be may only get the top and then give it back to me to finish. The baby shower is the 22nd of this month. 2 weeks from yesterday. I am sure she will understand.

sooz I love your Dresden plate...I made one for DGD last fall..it was a fun quilt I did mine from one of Eleanor's books/
FPP= foundation paper piecing.....where you place the fabric under the paper and sew on the lines on the paper...It was a fun class and the trick I learned was called the "Thumb Trick" lrts see if I can explain it. you place you fabric under the pattern and place your thumbs on the corners of the pattern piece and your finger on the otherside...if you flip it back n forth you can see that the piece of fabric will fit the pattern piece your thumbs are the guide...as they are placed on the paper piece. fingers on the fabric....clear as mud...I will try to do a photo of it and post it.
Sophia is 3 and much too young for the sewing machine,,,her littl efingers would easily slip under the needle....so I gave her scissors and a pile of scraps and a glue stick/// She cut tiny pieces of fabric and glued them to a plain piece of fabric. I then used a decorative stitch and sewed them down....her attention span at 3 is just a few minutes so it wasn't very big...she picked out all Christmas fabrics out of the scrap pile. Might just be a quilter one day.
it is snowing again here and 21. We probably will leave on friday as the next snow is predicted for next week saturday.. Camper is styill in the deep freeze but Ken said tomorrow he will thaw her out for me.
I need Sherry's address also. if someone could please PM it to me.
