Good morning, good morning,
We have snow coming down and could get 7-14". I'm at work, but I'm keeping an eye on the roads and if it gets bad I will probably head out early.

I had a good time with Victoria and Harley Beth yesterday. We spent 3 hours together, mostly just sitting in the restaurant talking. Victoria just wanted to be hang out which was nice. I feel so bad because she is adjusting to motherhood, has some post-partum, and they are so strapped financially. We've all been there though, haven't we? It was good to just spend some time.

I did not do much after I got home and ended up watching a movie after dinner. It was one of those movies that was slow moving and long, but seemed to be building, and then it got to the end and it left me looking at the screen thinking, that was it? What a waste of time. I'd have been better off sewing!

Stay warm, drive safe, and keep looking up,
Karlene

Good morning! After freezing drizzle last evening, we woke up to 5 degrees today. I really don’t like these frigid temps! The snow was pretty yesterday. I couldn’t believe it, but we took a ride in the UTV down through the timber and checked on the cows up in the feed area. The dogs loved the run in the snow. Rennie came over and joined Tinker Bell in a romp through the woods. Odie doesn’t enjoy the snow quite as much, but he did his share of running. We only received 2 or 3 inches. I think I prefer snow to single digit temperatures. The cows were huddled around the big bales in the feeders, at the mineral tubs and out of the wind next to the shed. The cold doesn’t affect them as much as it does me. We went to dinner at DS1’s last evening. DDIL had brought over some pants and jeans for mending, and I did those and took them back when we went to dinner. She had made chicken chili, and I made a pan of cornbread. It was a nice evening. When we came out, we had frozen rain coating the windshield and everything else. They only live a couple of miles down the road from us, so after we got the windows scraped we made it home without incident.

I hope everyone stays safe! We were fortunate not to get as much snow as Scrappy Pat, Barbara/Girl, and Shirley Mae received north of here. Unfortunately, we received the Arctic blast again and it is here to stay for several days.

Suzette—how thrilled you must be that your treatments will be finished next month.

Scrap48/Leah—I love the cowls or infinity scarves. I’m sure you will be able to sell them!

Lois—that’s great that you are able to wear your “old” shoes and boots again! Be careful!

Carole—so sorry to hear the jerk is still making waves and causing your DD and DGKs grief. I need to join your UFO group!

Vicky—hope you stay warm! Jovanna is such a little doll, and I know you love your cuddle time with Timmy. I miss the little ones. I’m waiting for great-grands.

Izzy—loved your pictures! Brrr! Hope you don’t get much more snow.

Velda—Maybe the rental could be called a UFO. I’m going to be so glad when we get it whipped into shape. We have to go to town today and work on it again.

Chriss—I love the sound of meadowlarks, too. They are fewer in numbers now due to the pesticides used on the crops and less area around the fields for nesting. It’s like what happened to the quail in our area. Perhaps with all of DH’s work on the quail habitat we will get some meadowlarks nesting. When I was a kid, they were on every other fencepost singing their hearts out. Now you go for miles before hearing one.

Becca—Hope you don’t get this next Arctic freeze. It’s brutal. I wonder if we will ever see 50 again here… Sigh!

Kathy—The snow was pretty yesterday. I never minded it when I worked and lived in town. I didn’t mind shoveling the drive, either. I guess this year the cold has gotten to me. We really hadn’t had much snow—just cold and ice. I do like my laptop.

Karlene—That’s a lot of snow! Oh, I hate those movies that just “leave you”. I remember those times when my DD was a baby. I got caught with a pre-existing condition when changing jobs although I didn’t get pregnant until into the second job. Because she was a preemie, she didn’t meet the 10-month waiting period, so I had no insurance coverage plus preemie hospital costs. What probably saved me is she was a summer baby, so I had SUN and that makes it all better for me. I hope you can spend time with Victoria and help her with her PPD.

Enjoy today!

Suz - hooray for your last treatment appointment. Gives you something to really look forward to. You took something to work on yesterday so, of course, they called you in right away. Murphy's Law.

Scrap - you will think I'm looney toons - I love to crochet but do not like to knit. Quilting beats out everything. It's on my mind 24/7. I'm looking forward to the Olympics. I'm so in awe of people that have the ability to do all those sports and the motivation to get themselves to the Olympics. I can't do wine coolers and hand work at the same time - LOL. You enjoy yours.

Lois - I'm glad you got the boots on but did it hurt to take them off?

Carole - good to see you. I lost my mother when I was 19 and I have missed her every single day. Isn't it fun to get together with quilting friends? I love it when Vicki, Sue and I have our little sew-ins - we get a lot done and have a lot of fun, too. It's great that you are getting UFOs done.

Vicky - I'm glad you got to see the kids yesterday. I need a new picture of Jovanna. She is such a beautiful child.

Izzy - the Olympics will be shown on NBC, or at least parts of it so you don't have to miss out. You are going to town on those quilts!

Velda - we are having a little sun today. It's not raining. It is cold-ish. How about down there? Seems we are all working on UFO's. I'm anxious to get mine done so I can start something new.

Chriss - you are wonderful parents to Marilyn. Are you having dressing, too, to go with that turkey? Now you've made me hungry. Doesn't take much - LOL LOL. I have plans for the weekend - we are going to the lake and it's suppose to be rainy and cold. That's OK - we'll just turn on the fireplace in the RV and watch movies and I'll be doing the outline stitch on the flowers of my floral Log Cabin. And I plan to stay up late and sleep late in the mornings.

Becca - our guest speaker at guild last night said that creative people are artists and quilters are artists....so....we are expected to have a messy house. Does that work for you?

I'm at work blah blah blah. Prayers please for my DH - he's having a prostate biopsy today. I'm not worried about it though. I won't get anxious until I know there is something to be anxious about. I think we will find out the results on Monday or Tuesday and we'll go from there. Must get busy.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good morning!

Just checked the forecast for the next 10 days, we will hover around the mid 60's and low 70's...maybe a chance of rain for one day (40%).

Yay!!!I'm done with my exams, now all I have to do is send a check to the State of California for $350.00 and my license is renewed.
I know DD#2 is worried that I might not have time to watch Drew for her while she's at work, she might be right. I'll try to keep Thursdays open for Drew.

Today is Senior Center day in Murrieta. I get to go be among some very talented ladies for a few hours. These women do it all...paper piecing, artistic quilts, embroidered blocks, wool applique etc. I'm hoping some of their talent will rub off on me.

Izzy, love your "day in the life". I couldn't do it and admire you for it.

Suzette, looks like you're plugging along...you have a great attitude.

scrapquilter48, I love IL DIVO,beautiful sound. I made some knitted cowls for Christmas but it's still too warm to wear them here in Calif.

Carole, re: the jerk, such and unhappy man.

Tina, it's hard to watch a baby when he's sick...they are miserable and can't tell you what's hurting. I get miserable just looking at him.

Okay, I gotta do some uglies before I leave and make sure there's something in the fridge for DH for lunch.

to quote the kids...peace out!

Lucie

Ok came up from tundra to thaw my hands by fire LOL. Sewing room was a mere 52 got it up to 60 now. I have 3 SBS blocks left to make and done:) woo hoo these last 3 are the easy ones.

NO Chriss not milking the chickens but got a good laugh. If they dont start giving me eggs I may just try it though LOL i was wondering why you said you were redoing blocks. The fussy cut I think makes this set special. I bet the others wont have that.

No antenna either so no NBC. We are in middle of woods and no good clear shot for signal. We have tried. We would have to have a pole so tall we would have to install one of those blinking lights for planes to see LOL Cant you see me climbing up there to adjust it Hahahah ROF

Well DD is on pot and need to get her done for morning she just got up. Dress, feed and turn on her netflix:) then back to sewing for me:)

Hi all!

So many people - so little time. This is Laundry Day! Yay! It's been two weeks since we last did wash. I've got it sorted and we'll be going into town to the laundromat in an hour or so.

CINDY B and SHIRLEY MAE - Prayers for all going in in your lives right now.

ALL THE SNOWY FOLK - Brrrr!!! Stay safe!

JUDI - special prayers for that young family. I've been through a lot but I can't even begin to imagine their pain.

CINDY G - good thoughts for Don! Glad you have a fun weekend planned. We'll be waiting with you for the bx results.

CHRISS - would that all kids should be as fortunate as Marilyn is to have you.

CAROLE - that jerk is truly a sick person. I was hoping he'd back off and turn his focus elsewhere. I made the UFO decision a few years ago and finally got my bin emptied! I almost felt a loss about that. I was surprised.

CHICKIE - I feel sorry for your poor cows.

VELDA - still planning to get together with "y'all". When Sue gets back.

I would love to 'talk' to each of you, but I've run out of time. DH says, "Let's go!"

We're leaving the desert tomorrow. I'm ready. some folks love it here and stay up to five months. But a few weeks is plenty for me! I'm ready for some real electricity and water! We'll be about 4 or 5 days getting to Austin now. Hoping to see Tina Fri or Sat, but we'll see how her dad is doing.

Miss you all!

Good morning!

The new freezer repair company is here - we had to fire the other - the old company said that the compressor was on backorder and that we had to wait - well, we called the manufacturer and knew that the compressor was in stock - the manufacturer was very upset and they were the one to suggest that we fire the original company. Now to find out it is not the compressor - just a fan in the freezer and he will fix it. After a week of waiting - maybe I will have the freezer running again. Part will be here tomorrow - hope hope hope!!

Not much new in this neck of the woods - snow off and on all week, not much at a time, so we can stay ahead of the shoveling.

Been sewing on the birdhouses - now to start the embroidery on all of the blocks -

Found some cabinets for the Batt Cave at IKEA - I actually hate that store - but they have what I need - so I will send Sarah over to get them - she loves to go there - my trade will be watching Ethan. I can go for that!

Well off to do some real uglies - the taxes - yukko scrud! Should not take me long - I have all the pieces parts that I need, just have to input all the numbers and see how much I owe. Our pension from California will not deduct state taxes for Utah - so I have to estimate that and set it aside each month and then pay it all at once. What a pain!

Do something fun!
Hugs

Good "Hump Day" from snowy, cold, wintery, SW. Pa...I'm going to forget how to type, sunny and warm........And to add insult to injury, as I sit here in the cold, Ft. Myers, had a high of 88 yesterday.......

Today is just another lazy day in this household....Along with forgetting how to type sunny, I'm forgetting how to be productive...I do the basics and that's it....
Jim had been out and shoveled, swept and then asked if I wanted to go shopping????? We seem to have the "oven sickness" and at first I thought I'd call buddy, Ted, to look at it but just might head for HomeDepot instead.....But, not today!

Chriss, if I could get to the airport, I'd be there in time for dinner....If I try hard, I can almost catch the aroma of that turkey....Maybe I'll get there in time for the turkey potpie....I also have a feeling, Marilyn knows she has a good life....

Izzy, I can't believe how fast you are whipping those quilts together....And with all you do, you're like "superwoman".....Loved your pictures from yesterday....Milking chickens, that's a new one, lol.....

I agree with all of you with being done with winter...I can't remember ever having such a long, cold one....

And with that, I'd better meander up to visit my machine....Maybe I can at least work on one of those UFOs or find some more blocks for Izzy............

You all have a great day
Stay warm, stay safe.......
