Lois - I wish I had your day. I could stand to go home for 1/2 a day and I could stand a nap and more time to sew.

Dolores - Maddy sounds like a good girl. Our new puppy here at the office keeps having accidents. Good luck with the hospital business. Things sure aren't as easy as they use to be.

Lucie - have fun with Drew today.

Becca - yummmmm strawberry nut bread sounds good. Glad you got your cleaning done so you can spend today sewing.

Debi - I'm not adopting either team for the super bowl. I don't want to watch the game. It's just not as exciting when your team isn't playing. I'm waiting for the winter Olympics to start - can't wait. I hope you are well...or at least getting there.

Judi - isn't it awful in Atlanta. I have a friend that lives there and luckily her DH came home from work just in time but their driveway is an incline and he almost didn't make it up to the garage. Those poor people who have been stuck in their cars. I don't know what a carhart jacket is so I'm going to look it up.

Vicki - those Y seams are tricky. I put a dot on the 1/4" on both pieces of fabric and pin it well then I start sewing from the dot so that the fabric doesn't move any. I usually do pretty good....not that I do that much with Y seams.

Kathy - HI and welcome to this sew-in. This is the best group of people on the internet! What a shame that you have to go to the LQS. Don't mind me - I'm just jealous as can be.

Maryz - how's your brother?

Yesterday I didn't come here I don't think. It's been crazy here at work. Lots of snafus trying to get my W-2 report sent off to social security. I have to do it electronically. That's all I'm saying about it but there is lots more and it ain't pretty! I watched an old Quilt Show video with Suzanne Marshall as their guest and she does award-winning applique. Well, she does an outline stitch around her applique and so I decided to do that, too, on my floral Log Cabin. Man, what a difference! So I'm working on my second flower block doing the outline stitch. It's GREAT TV work - absolutely mindless and relaxing. My DH went for his physical yesterday and it's not good. He has to have a prostate biopsy next week. He's also going for his routine colonoscopy. I'm not going to worry about the prostate thing until I know I have something to worry about but I am praying and I'm asking y'all for prayers, too. When I get off today I'll go home and heat up the left over homemade veggie beef soup and we'll finish that off tonight - YEA - no cooking. Then I have to get the house ready for the cleaning lady and then I can sit and sew - WOO HOO

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Every morn, snow banks get higher.. Weather -39C be baking zuchinni muffins, don't feel like going to groceries, then good day for sewing, cleaning some. Crazy as it sounds, I'm bringing snow inside to melt, great for coffee, humidity in air. Kitten plays in it, without the cold.

Quilt tutorials on internet are very educational. Learnt plenty about products shop sale.

Have nice day and remember tomorrow IS TGIF DAY!

Good Morning,

Here on the AZ desert the sunrise was a brilliant orange red sprawled across the sky this morning. I took it as a gift from my first husband. Today would be our 42nd wedding anniversary. Now I consider it our personal family holiday and celebrate it with joy. After all, without this date, I wouldn't have my children or grandchildren.

I have no definitive answers yet regarding my brother. he's had a lot of tests but the family has been given no results. However, an oncologist did drop into his room, gave them his card, and told them to have an oncologist from home call him. That tells me that they know what's going on but so far no one has told my brother or his wife. and that seems a harsh and scary way to break possible bad news. Jim still feels really crappy and says he doesn't want to go home until he feels better and knows what's going on with him.

SHIRLEY MAE - prayers for Rod and for you.

CINDY - Bill had an elevated PSA and 3 biopsies over 2 yrs. All came back negative. We have a friend who is a doctor. He says more than 50% of elevated PSA's mean nothing. So holding good thoughts for Don.

VICKY - good luck at the dentist. When undergoing dental procedures, I always say to myself over and over again, "This too shall pass. This too shall pass."

DELORES - you are very wise to keep on top of all those medical things. It's appalling how slack medical offices are today about forwarding paperwork around. I had to have blood drawn here in Yuma this week and the results faxed to my doc at home. You've reminded me to call and double check that, because my last blood work slipped through the cracks.

BECCA - how nice to have a day of nothing to do but sew! I miss sewing so much!

LUCIE - hi! Nice to see you . Enjoy your day with Drew.

DEBI - so sorry you've been so sick. It's EVERYWHERE.

CHRISS - you had your interviews? Well?? How did it go?

JUDI - will have to look up your hexie quilt. Bill is that way about his clothes, too. He had a 20 yr old henley tee shirt that I tossed out once. He had a conniption fit!! I had to dig it out of the garbage and give it back to him. He never wore it, but he guarded that shirt like an old dog with a bone! I think he still has it stuffed in the back of his closet!

KATHY - happy fabric shopping!

CHICKIE - how's things at your digs?

We've had to go into Yuma every day for the last 4 days. Today we are staying PUT! Someone has to clean this trailer! When you vacation in an RV, the uglies get to go on vacation with you. They are just downsized. Maybe I'll get to sew a little, too - my reward for getting the chores done.

DH found us some Seahawk tee shirts in Mexico, so we're all set for the big game!! Whoo Hoo!!

Hugs and prayers,
Mary z

Morning Girls

It's NOT a GOOD Morning here..Snowing and blowing like crazy and I think we had about 3 inches of new snow over night. I don't wanna go to work in this weather! Will have to leave really early and avoid the highway. Just checked the traffic cameras...definitely NOT taking the highway!

Jules... I know you will be busy the next few days.. but want you to know I'm thinking about your family, with prayers!

Becca... you could just slide down your driveway... but then getting back up would sure be a problem! I'm just hoping I can get OUT of my driveway this morning! Good day to stay in and sew! Wish I could join you!

Cindyg... Prayers for Don and his tests! Got my W-2 in the mail yesterday... Where did all that money go? Oh I know.. FABRIC and HEAT

Vicky... If I had some hills here, I would surely be lifting my eyes up to them, looking for help! When I'm at DD's in AK, I can see the mountains from her apt. deck and I think of that verse every time. Hope all goes well with your root canal today, and that you'll be feeling better in no time! when I have to go to DDS I just go to my "happy place"----a lovely quilt shop full of beautiful fabric.

Judi... Your Hexi quilt is amazing!!!! I've seen lots of pre-cut hexies and thought how fun that would be. Jen would LOVE that one... she loves scrappy! My oldest DS practically lives in his Carhart jacket and over-alls, especially when he has to work outside in the winter.

Debi... am not much of a football fan either, but it's a good excuse to get together with friends and have snacks! January sure did go by fast and I'm counting the days until the SNOW MELTs! Hopefully sooner than later!

Maryz... Prayers continue for Jim. Some Dr's just don't have a good bed-side manners do they. Surely your late DH is smiling down on you today! I hope the day brings you wonderful memories of your time with him.

Shirelymae... Many prayers for Rod today too!

Mepiece.....don't you hate that when you don't have enough of the right piece of fabric...makes me crazy....especially when I can't FIND any more of what I need!

Chriss.... any word from your interview? Hope it went well and that it will be an easy decision to take the job or not!

Dolores....sounds like you are on top of things getting all your DH things ready. I hope all goes well for him.

If I'm going to leave early for work this morning to take the slow route, I better get going. Oh how I would love to call in...but I'm not sick so I better go!

Wishing you all a most wonderful day

Morning-

Just checking I on y'all to know how to pray.

Still sick but not as bad as before. We've got a huge storm moving in - 9" of snow predicted and they keep upping the amounts. DS1 is still in Bartlesville, OK. One of our DGDs in Ohio, Miss Sophia,to be exact, can't wait for the Super Bowl. Her grandfather out there said he was going to root for the Seahawks. She said that was a sin!! Too funny.

Back to bed for me. Love and hugs to all y'all. Xoxo Sharona

Not much going on here. I haven't spent much time at all in my studio either. I guess I am tired of going to radiation treatments. Having to go by a schedule that interrupts everything. Had to complain a little. Saturday is my son's 25th birthday. It has gone way to fast!! Tomorrow he and I are doing our thing of shopping and then eating lunch out. I have to say he has been such a joy. Not an ounce of trouble. Have a great day.

Good late morning from frosty, but sunny, SW. Pa....We are promised warm temps but so far, it's only about 12.....

Well, I did it! Made yet another reservation for Florida and hopefully this time, I'll be on that plane and not home in bed, lol...Besides, I want to give it time to heat up down there..My friend has been telling me it's really been cold this year...

Judi, I had to laugh about men and getting new clothes...With Jim, he'll say, I don't need those new pants or whatever, mine are fine...I usually just buy them, put them in the closet and eventually, he wears the new....we've been going to Florida for more than 40 years and have yet to stop in St. Augustine...When we drove, Jim was always in a hurry to get to Ft. Myers and now we fly...Oh well, maybe one of these times...Need to check out your quilt....

Chriss, inquiring minds need to know!

Debi, I'm the same as you, very anxious to see Feb. And hopefully that means warmer temps and not too long till Spring....Glad you're feeling better....

Maryz, I like your thoughts on the sunrise..You really do have a good outlook on life...Vacations are for relaxing, not uglies, right? Hope you get some good answers about your DB...Also glad you found your T-shirt....
We'll have the game on but with the Steelers sitting at home, it just won't be the same.....

Well, I think I best get moving...Jim just left to help with the elderly bingo and I, being the slug that I am, haven't gotten dressed yet..(I'm like Ken, I love my robe)....When Jim gets home, we're doing a little shopping and then eating out, so no cooking for me, again.....

Special prayers are being sent for all those who are just not up to par....

You all have a great day................
