Good Morning and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all my friends here at QIAD. Hope you all have a fun and joyful day.

Just going to have a quiet day and watch Christmas movies and may-be some sewing.

Skyped each of the boys last night and wished them Merry Christmas.

Good wishes for all and prayers for a Happy New Year.

Sherry

Good Morning Girls

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! May God's Heavenly light shine down on all us today and our families near and far. May you all be safe and warm (or cool as the case may be). May laughter and love fill your homes today.

Teresa... what wonderful news to share on Christmas Day! A baby girl! Love they name they chose. Hope they can bring their little bundle home soon!

Suzette.. LOVE the quilters Night Before Christmas! May print that out and hang it in my sewing room.

Mel... oh how I miss the little ones waking up early to see what Santa has brought! What a joy!

Lois... Do you wait until Dinner dishes are done before you open gifts? My little ones are too excited to wait!!!

Lucie... a trip to the beach with a good book? Now that sounds wonderful!!! I could do that up here, but I'd need long underwear, hat and gloves--but I could put a lawn chair right ON the lake! They are all frozen up here!

Chriss... So what time did Marilyn wake up to see what Santa had brought! Will Richard be with you today?

Sherry... Isn't SKYPE the best thing ever? Do you remember when we thought video phones were science fiction?

Maryz...Love the FB Christmas Card of you and Scottie! I didn't know he was so smart he could play cards!

Kathy.... Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

Joan... Merry Christmas to you too. Hope Santa left lots of fun stuff in your stocking!

This morning I am headed down to my neighbors for Christmas Day Coffee. Every year she has a "displaced parents" breakfast, for us empty nesters. She said I could come in my jammies, but I think I'm going to have to bundle up--it's only 16 above here. After that I'll be home to start getting ready for the kids to come-get out the nice china for dinner and start cooking. May even sneak in a nap!

Wishing you all a most wonderful CHRISTMAS day!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY QUILTER FRIENDS! MAY GOD BLESS YOU TODAY AND ALWAYS AND FILL YOUR HEARTS WITH LOVE, HOPE, PEACE, GOOD HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

Teresa, Congrats on a new little girl. What a pretty name. Prayers for blessings for ARIA JANE as she grows strong and healthy and happy and blessings for all the family, you too.

Our son and family will be here later this morning. Rod is fixing a big ham and we have all the trimmings. They are bringing bread and dessert and drinks so should be a nice meal together. Tree is all decorated and looks festive in our new home.

Prayers for all that you can spend time with someone you love today and all your tomorrows too. Prayers for those who are in need and especially for those who are ill or far from family today.

Sending lots of love and hugs across the miles. Thanking God for our new home, for our new friends here in Missouri and all our old friends and family too. Shirley Mae and Rod

Good Morning!

Merry Christmas to all my beloved quilty pals! We are up, showered, and waiting for my sister who prefers to sleep 3 hours later than the rest of the world. We have more presents with them, stockings, and then they'll head off to their son's to stay for a few days before heading home to Colorado.

TERESA - congratulations on little Aria Jane! What a pretty name!
CHRISS - I bet you are in the midst of an excited morning with Marilyn!
LUCIE - I'm sorry I didn't get to wish you a happy birthday yesterday. I didn't forget it, but had so much going on with 12 people here most of the day that there was just no computer time. I hope you had a happy birthday. And your sister's is today? Best wishes to her, too.
SHIRLEY MAE - you certainly got settled quickly, decorated, and already entertaining family. Happy Day to you!
JUDI - enjoy your day, whereever you wind up! lol! It's so nice to be wanted everywhere!
MARY Q - What a nice Christmas morning your neighbor is hosting. Have a fun time with your family today!
EVERYONE! no matter how you are spending your day, I hope it's joyful.

After sis leaves we'll relax a bit and then probably start cleaning our trailer where they've been staying this week. Also, lots of boxes, tissue, bows, etc to pack away, leftovers to eat, and naps to take. Tonite, we'll probably watch a Christmas movie - Christmas Story or Scrooged. And then off to bed to dream of quilting projects for 2014!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Good morning again! DGS finally woke up and is happily playing with his Legos right now.

I just wanted to post this as we remember those who can't be with their loved ones today due to deployments, etc.

In honor of my solder (now retired) and those who served and/or are still serving:

~ A Soldier’s Christmas Poem

Twas The Night Before Christmas,
He Lived All Alone,
In A One Bedroom House
Made Of Plaster And Stone.

I Had Come Down The Chimney
With Presents To Give,
And To See Just Who
In This Home Did Live.

I Looked All About,
A Strange Sight I Did See,
No Tinsel, No Presents,
Not Even A Tree.

No Stocking By Mantle,
Just Boots Filled With Sand,
On The Wall Hung Pictures
Of Far Distant Lands.

With Medals And Badges,
Awards Of All Kinds,
A Sober Thought Came Through My Mind.

For This House Was Different,
It Was Dark And Dreary,
I Found The Home Of A Soldier,
Once I Could See Clearly.

The Soldier Lay Sleeping,
Silent, Alone
Curled Up On The Floor
In This One Bedroom Home.

The Face Was So Gentle,
The Room In Such Disorder,
Not How I Pictured
A United States Soldier.

Was This The Hero
Of Whom I'd Just Read?
Curled Up On A Poncho,
The Floor For A Bed?

I Realized The Families
That I Saw This Night,
Owed Their Lives To These Soldiers
Who Were Willing To Fight.

Soon Round The World,
The Children Would Play,
And Grownups Would Celebrate
A Bright Christmas Day.

They All Enjoyed Freedom
Each Month Of The Year,
Because Of The Soldiers,
Like The One Lying Here.

I Couldn't Help Wonder
How Many Lay Alone,
On A Cold Christmas Eve
In A Land Far From Home.

The Very Thought
Brought A Tear To My Eye,
I Dropped To My Knees
And Started To Cry.

The Soldier Awakened
And I Heard A Rough Voice,
"Santa Don't Cry,
This Life Is My Choice;

I Fight For Freedom,
I Don't Ask For More,
My Life Is My God,
My Country, My Corps."

The Soldier Rolled Over
And Drifted To Sleep,
I Couldn't Control It,
I Continued To Weep.

I Kept Watch For Hours,
So Silent And Still
And We Both Shivered
From The Cold Night's Chill.

I Didn't Want To Leave
On That Cold, Dark, Night,
This Guardian Of Honor
So Willing To Fight.

Then The Soldier Rolled Over,
With A Voice Soft And Pure,
Whispered, "Carry On Santa,
It's Christmas Day, All Is Secure."

One Look At My Watch,
And I Knew He Was Right.
"Merry Christmas My Friend,
And To All A Good Night."

Good Christmas morning!

Merry Christmas to all my friends!

We had a wonderful time with the family last night and are now waiting for them to show up here to see what Santa left at Grandma's.

Then I am retiring to the Batt Cave and find something to make for the rest of the day.

Hugs,
Jana
