Good morning :o) DD, Jaz and Easton are still here so I've not been getting on the computer much :o) I'm not complaining though, we've been having a very nice time! Tonight is Jaz's Christmas program and then we're going to drive around looking at Christmas lights :o) I love doing it! I'll be baking breads today for Christmas gifts. It's 25* right now, brrrrrrrrr.
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for those in need.

Suz - good news about the baby coming home and your friend finding a place to stay. Have a good day at work.

Lois - oh, my, a year for your ankle to be back to normal. I wouldn't be happy with that at all!

Maryz - sorry you have to go to the dentist. Is it all coming to an end soon? Seems like you guys have been working on that wood for a month.

Jules - why are you making a puppet theater? I wouldn't even know where to begin! Sorry you are under the weather again.

Chriss - my weekend flew by, too, and I didn't have time for even a 10 minute nap all weekend. Next weekend I WILL have a nap.

Velda - the good thing about an RV is that is doesn't take very long to clean.

Kathy - I think I saw that same quilt in a Hallmark movie. When will you start on yours?

Judi - I have a small TV in my sewing hole so I can watch the Hallmark movies and sew, too. They keep running the same movies over and over but I don't care. I like them all so I just keep watching over and over.

Becca - gosh, cookies, cards and table toppers - I wish I was home so I could do things like that.

Had a busy weekend: Friday night was my company's Christmas dinner party, Saturday one of my DGS came over and he and I went shopping all day and then picked up my other DGS from work and they both spent the night with me. Yesterday I did some picking up around the house and got some laundry done, ran the boys around and then we had my nieces college graduation to go to. She graduated magna cum laude and I'm so proud of her. Now she on to her master's. Today I'm at work. After work I really need to go to the grocery store but I feel myself procrastinating. Gotta run.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good morning!

Suzette - that is wonderful news for your friend. I know you'll enjoy working on Lydia's quilt.

Lois - ouch - my ankle hurts thinking about how you shattered yours. How sweet of work to send you a cookie-gram! Aren't you glad to have all your baking done - I need to start on my second batch today.

Maryz - so glad you've had nice weather to work in. I had something framed for a DGS, and with 75% off it was still a fortune. Seems like quite a racket to me. I can't wait to see piccies of your koi hanging!

Jules - that stinks about your cold - I hope it passes quickly. Have fun making the puppet theatre.

Chriss - boy howdy you are on a shopping spree! I bet cranberry muffins would be good. I put craisins in my oatmeal yesterday and they were really good.

Velda - sounds like you have a day full of uglies.

Kathy - which movie was it in? I think I've watched almost every Hallmark Christmas movie. Hope Miss fussypants doesn't fuss too much for you today. Enjoy the dollar store.

Judi - what fun y'all had yesterday! A belated HB to Ken - and congrats on his $40. Are you making those tube-type pillowcases? They do go quickly. We're headed for a high in the low 60s for the next three days due to the Chinook winds. Stay warm!

Becca - I hope you're feeling better - sounds like you'll have a busy day today.

Miriam - sure hope the car fix is an easy one. There are few things more frustrating than an unreliable car. And on this busy week of yours - drat! Enjoy your warm weather.

Tina - how fun - enjoy the Christmas program and lights. I bet your house will smell quite yummy today.

Cindyg - I hope you get a nap next weekend, because I am plum tuckered out from reading your list. Sounds like you had a wonderful (albeit busy) weekend. I'm so proud of your niece!

We got an offer on the house - what an answer to prayer! The realtor sent a really nice note from the people making an offer - which is another answer to prayer - because the love our old house as much as we do. If all goes as planned we close in four weeks. They got the roof on and the framing done inside the shop. I need to chose a color of paint for my part - any suggestions? I was thinking yellow. Have a wonderful day - prayers have been said for y'all. xoxo Sharona

Good Morning Girls!

YEAH Another day off! And it's snowing--perfect! Snow in Minnesota--what a concept! Fortunately I only have to run into town for a few errands and then I can come home and play--and do laundry!

Suzette... so glad you friend found a place to be--some place warm and safe. And baby girl is home too? What a wonderful Christmas it will be for them!

Lois... Great news to be able to drive again! Not much more frustrating than wanting to GO, but can't drive to get there! Hope when you got back to work you can still rest your ankle. Are you looking forward to going back to work?

Kathy... did you get all your snow shoveled? On my to-do list this weekend is to find a perfect gift for my neighbor who snow-blows for me... A bottle of a nice wine and a gift card for gasoline!

Velda... Your day sounds like mine... errands, food, laundry. My fridge is so empty it echoes! I'm still learning how to use my phone--I know how to e-mail myself pictures, but not to get them to photo bucket yet. You're a step ahead of me. Maybe my 9 year old DGS can teach me!

Jules.. Gosh I hope you feel better soon.. Christmas is not the season to be sick!! Can't wait to see your puppet show--how fun that will be for your nieces.

Maryz.... Ok honey, that's enough wood for now! 50's in Washington? Color me green. It's been colder here than in AK for last few days!

Chriss.. a week vacation! Lucky you! The perfect week to take a vacation. Next year, I'm going to put in for days off around Christmas... never taken Christmas Eve off and I think it's my turn.
Cranberry English muffins? Oh my I think I will look for them when I go shopping today too--they sound delicious!

Judi... how many pillow cases do you need? I think I have a few already made up I could send you. do you do the "tube" ones? And if Ken does win the lottery... he will share right?

Sharon... so glad to hear you got an offer on your house.. what a huge relief that must be. I bet a soft yellow would be very pretty and cheery in your studio. How fun to plan decorating and setting it all up just the way you want!

Chickie.. oh my definitely get that car in the shop! Sometimes I think it's just not fair that I don't have the energy I used to...it's only in my mind and I can't get my body to cooperate. I remember being able to run up and down stairs two a time! Now I can barely make it one step at a time without an "ouch" here and there.

Izzy... LOVE the Santa picture. If you right click on the picture. .you can set it as your background on the computer! How do you like your Accu Cut machine?

Becca.. hope you have a fun day in the kitchen. Only thing I'll be doing in there today is cleaning it AGAIN!

Well girls, I better get butt in gear and get those errands done. Don't want to delay getting package to PO for AK. Need to tuck in a few last minute things and head out!

Wishing you all a most wonderful day

Good morning from sunny cold NW Ohio. Glad I don't have to go anywhere today. My neighbor can't get over until after work to snow blow out our drive. Since I don't have to get out anymore and he does it for free and won't take money. I am not going to complain. Just more time to sew and get some baking done this week.

Suzette - Glad your friend has found a place to stay, and the baby got home all right.

Cindyg - Congrats on Niece's graduation

Judi - Sledding? If I did that anymore they would have to call 911. LOL

Jules - Hope you feel better soon. I know what you mean my asthma has been bad with this cold weather. Take care of yourself.

Lois -Have fun baking. I have to get mine done this week also. Glad you can drive now, but take care also.

Izzy - PB and a trap. That is what I use too. I also put mouse bait in our attic and under the house in the winter, and that really helps. One of the "fun things" about living in the country.

Sharona - Glad you got an offer on the house. Hope it all works out great.

One last question before I go get dressed and do something. Has anyone signed up for the 2014 Block Party Mystery Block Party? I have never signed up for one, but this one sounds pretty neat. Well better go do something. Have a good day all and keep warm.

Just a run-through - Hi to all!
I did a little research, and apparently there are multiple ways to make mashed potatoes gluey! Who knew!

"Ever wondered why mashed potatoes sometimes have a gluey texture?

If you cook starchy potatoes in too much water; or, if you cook them too long; or if you beat them too vigorously, their starch granules rupture. Out spills trapped liquid and starch giving them a gluey, pasty texture. "

I'm back - whew, it has been busy at work! It does make the time go faster. After watching the snow go around us, it definitely found us this weekend. I was able to stock up on Friday with food, so we just hunkered down for the weekend. Elizabeth did have to go to work, but she ended up staying up with Victoria Sat. night so she did not have to drive down here on the bad roads. They kept saying on the weather report that we were getting an inch or two, or five, etc. but we are over a foot. The sun is out today and there are some doozy icicles on buildings around here.

I'm making a dent in my scrap cutting, but I can only do it for so long before I'm annoyed with it. I thought maybe I'd get to babysit Harley today and let Victoria and Elizabeth go see a movie together, but I have not heard for sure yet. David is working on getting Victoria's car going and is replacing some parts on it for her Christmas present.

Have a wonderful afternoon all,
Karlene

Good afternoon....

It is sunny and in the 40's today and supposed to warm up until Thursday...at least that what the weather is supposed to do but around here you never know.

Suzette....glad your friend got in a shelter. I hope they will be able to help her get back on her feet. I will keep her in my prayers.

Chriss....I love thrift store shopping. When do we go? I'll be there. Sounds like you had a busy weekend.
Maryz....bet you will be glad the wood is "done". Has your company arrived yet?

Kathy...have fun shopping. I went out yesterday, which was a mistake and it was crazy busy! Hopefully Monday won't be too bad. Are you shopping for specific things or just browsing? That's when I usually find things...when I'm not looking for them.

Miriam...have a fun day in the sun. It sure makes you feel better when the sun is out.

Jules...sorry you are sick again. I saw the puppet theater you are making. It is adorable. I also saw your felted bird on fb. They are so cute!

Izzy...glad you caught your mouse. Maybe your cats are too well fed!

I got my connecting threads order today. When I went to the Post office to get it the box was all beat up and was gaping open. Well 2 of my items weren't there. They had to have fallen out of the box. I called Connecting Threads and they are replacing them. I thought that was very nice. This is the first time I had ever ordered.
Lucy has her Christmas program tomorrow morning. Picture 2, 3 and 4 yr olds singing Jingle Bells, Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Jesus. She goes on Tuesday and thrusday morning to a mother's day out at a church close to where we live. It should put me in the Christmas mood. If it doesn't, nothing will.

Hope everyone has a great afternoon and evening.

Good news!! Good news!! I bet you'll all be glad to hear that our wood is all split and stacked! Turned out to be four cords, plus I had to move one cord and stack it elsewhere to make room. You'd think I would have lost at least a pound a cord, wouldn't you. But not so. Sigh.

In other news, I finished my koi wallhanging this morning and will stitch the binding down tonite. I'll take a picture tomorrow. And one more dental appt checked off this morning. It was about as much fun as you might expect. I have another (the final!) in 3 weeks to place the actual crowns on my implants. Whew! What a process!

Now, on to a relaxing afternoon of scrubbing toilets, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting!
