Re: Thursday December 5th
Good morning... I think it's finally winter. the girls at work all wear these UGG boots..at the drug store they had some look alikes that were really slippers and I wear them and imagine they are UGG's...
we got new kitchen curtains.. I love them.. they have happy flowers on them and go real well with our paint job.
Tina, I didn't know Walmart had a hair place.. ours does eye glasses and groceries...
Kathy, you said your SS pal had the opposite taste in fabric that you do.. so I went and checked.. guess I am not your elf...all this insurance stuff can really be confusing can't it?
Sharona, we have a pink frosting stain in our carpet from a cupcake...I know these kids are just trying to see how far they can push us, and I am sure we did it to our parents. but boy can they be stinkers... I wish I could get it through Marilyn's head that if she would just keep her room picked up life would be better here.. but noooo...lol
Izzy, sorry about the DFD stuff.. sounds like it was a crazy night... not sure I would have held up as well as you did...
Karlene.. I love your quilt.. it is so cool... I will hangst thou in there... great advice.
O'Dorothy, hope that weather keeps shinning for you.
Maryz.. glad your sis will be there for the holidays.
Teresa, glad your daughter is safe.
Suzette, seasons just aren't what they used to be.. I can't figure the weather out at all.
Lois.. I need to clean up my machine too...
Chrissy, prayers for Mr. Myles.
Velda, I am so looking forward to seeing your Santa face...
Vicky, have fun.
Judi, don't forget to breathe.. you are a busy girl... happy birthday to your 8 year old.. have cake for me.
I am so excited for secret Santa.. I can't wait to see what my pal thinks of what I sent her...3 more days...
you all have a groovy day,
Chriss

Happy Today!
TERESA - so happy to hear your DD is safe.
SUZ - That's the way it goes - when you have good coupons or gift cards, you can never find anything to spend them on! I've been known to leave my coupons for other folks to find and use and just walk out empty handed. So sad. ( lol!! )
VELDA - I'm looking forward to seeing these Santas!
VICKY - what fun days with your girls!
CHRISSY - prayers for Myles!
JUDI - you are a whirling dervish of holiday and family activity! I an almost smell your cookies-to-be from here!
KATHY - I'm glad you have your insurance issues settled. What a hassle it can be! and now your DGC shopping done! Hooray!
BECCA - hope your dr appt goes well and your errands go quickily!
CHRISS - I know of no way to get kids to keep their rooms clean. When I was little, we walked on top of a layer of STUFF until my older sister couldn't stand it any more and she would spend the day cleaning it for us. With my kids, I finally quit fighting them and just let them have their space as long as they kept the door closed. I taught them to do laundry so they were in charge of their own clothes from the age of 10 so I didn't even have to go in their rooms for dirty clothes. It worked very well and we were all much happier.
Yesterday an impromptu shopping trip with DH and my shopping is all but done! And the wrapping! I need to run out and get a few stocking stuffer items and DD's box will be ready to ship off to Texas. Then all that's left is to get a few small things for DH. A lighweight, soft-sided tool box might be good for him. The one he uses when we travel is SOO heavy. (he carries lots of tools 'just in case') And I'm thinking one of those small sized circular saws. He's going to need a saw when we go to Texas this winter. My DD has lots of honey-do's lined up for him as her hubby just doesn't do them.
My sister in CO called and they are coming here for Christmas, arriving in 2 weeks and staying with us until just after Christmas when they'll move on to their son's house in Seattle. Since our guest cottage is also our travel trailer, packing for our snowbird travels will be put on hold until they leave. But it will be so fun to have them here! We're looking forward to it. Scottie will have a little sheltie cousin to play with. Maybe he can burn off some of his energy!
Hope your day is fantastc!

Re: Thursday December 5th
Teresa - there was a Celtic Thunder Christmas show on? Darn - when and where. I wonder if they'll rerun it. I love Celtic Thunder. I'm glad that shooting wasn't at the school.
Suz - sorry you and your friend had to postpone your get together. I'm so far behind here at work and at home I don't think I'll ever get in my sewing room to get the binding on my Christmas quilt. Our temps are suppose to drop 30* today. Getting a cold front which I'm so glad of - it's been 80-something. Too hot for Christmas.
Lois - is Elna the only machine you have? I finally got a small Janome Gem to haul around so if my big Janome goes to the spa I will still have something to sew with. And then there's my 221 Featherweights, too. Maybe Santa could bring you an extra?
Chrissy1 - prayers going up and my fingers are crossed for Myles.
Velda - Santa faces...sounds cute. I can't wait to see them.
Vicky - glad you are enjoying your girls and grands.
Judi - you sure do have a full weekend. I MUST shop and I have a bridal shower on Sunday. The bad news is that it's an hour and 15 minutes from my house so I'll be on the road for 2-1/2 hours - such a waste of time. Oh, well......
Becca - oh, fun. Allergy shots. Have you had a flu shot?
Kathy - I know you must be relieved about your insurance being settled. I wish I was finished shopping but I've barely started.
Chriss - our WalMart has a hair place and a nail place and an eye glasses place and a McDonald's. Do we get to see you kitchen curtains?
Maryz - I read that you will be having company for Christmas - you sound so happy about that. I'm glad.
I can't seem to get stuff done at home. Changing my Christmas colors is taking it's toll. I need a centerpiece for the dining table so I'm trying to come up with something myself. Spending too much time. Should have bought an arrangement that's already made up but they are $100 so I decided I could do one myself and bought the stuff. It's just not worth the hassle but I've already bought the stuff so.....I just need to go back to Hobby Lobby and get a red charger. And then I need to figure out what to do on the coffee table and on the entertainment center. I wanted to have it all done by now because my cleaning lady comes tomorrow. I guess she'll just have to work around my mess. I'm also way behind on my Christmas shopping and haven't even thought about wrapping. And I'm behind here at work. I just can't seem to get a handle on anything - grrrrr. And on that note, I'll stop here and get busy.
I hope you can all fondle fabric today.

Good morning!
Well DRAT - now I need to go because DH is knocking at the door. We had a high of -5 and now it's -10 so I guess I shouldn't keep him waiting...!!!!
Hopefully I can BBL - we're taking the dog into town for her spa treatment.
xoxo Sharona

Good morning! A quick in and out... headed for my sewing room. We are on the extreme edge of the snow forecast so not looking for much/any. Of course, that's when we get it dumped on us. If you are in the path of the storms, stay safe and warm!

Good morning all! Been busy getting the containers with the in house decorations on the back porch so I can start decorating inside. This year I went and got a 4' tree for inside the house. Since it will be just DH and me for Christmas I decided not to put up the 8' tree in the house so I got a smaller one and will put some decorations on it. Every tree decoration I have is either homemade or souvenirs from vacation trips. I will be putting up the other inside decorations though. I still need to get my big nativity scene people out in the yard also. Busy, Busy like everyone else.
Lois - So glad you got your PT ok'd again.
Chrissy1 - Will keep Myles in my prayers today. How are the Dum Dum's
coming?
Billizzy - So sorry about your problems with DFD. You are a good
family to help others in need.
Teresa - Glad your daughter is all right.
Maryq - Please keep the snow up with you. LOL I know what you mean
all the Medicare ads. We get so much in the mail and it
goes straight to the trash. We have a supplemental policy
that we are happy with now.
Kathy - Glad you got your Medicare supplement all set. When I went
on Medicare last year I went to a very good insurance agent.
he got us set up with a policy for each of us. it sure saved
me a big hassle.
CindyB - Glad the doctors are getting close to finding a diagnosis
for you.
Cindyg - If I had put a centerpiece on our table when the boys were
still home they would have ate it. LOL They ate anything
not nailed down.
Well, better go and finish my coffee and get something done. My dog Pepper is feeling better and starting to eat better. Have a good day all. Prayers for all who need them.
Sherry

Good morning!
Here are a couple of pictures of Ethan that I thought I would share - Sarah took them yesterday -

He is now 23 months old and is a very good helper!
Today will be a very busy one for me - DS4 brought up a ton of my boxes - he had ulterior motives - he wanted to put the train up - so he brought up totes until he found the train and all the track and switches! So Christmas has exploded upstairs! Now I have to tame it all into place. I will be calling Sarah in a few minutes for her help as well. Then later this morning I will go and babysit the other grands as it is speech for Logan. He has advanced tremendously and will only need to go for a few more months. He is almost at age level for his speech. Surprised the therapists at how fast he progressed - from a 2 yr old speech level to almost a 5 year old in just about 9 months.
So I am headed back upstairs to get order back -
Have a great day
Hugs,
Jana

LOL oh yeah then here it is WED and we brine them some more LOL. Wait now I am not done. Shelves are empting due to forcast of bread and milk LOLROFLOL some more. It was 64 coming in to work this am at 7. Yeah and pouring rain now. HUMMMMM wonder if brine is water proof LOL. If not I am sure we have an overstock and will do the roads again. OH MY we are idiots here. After going to CO and once to Wisconsin where they dont even clear off roads there. And oh yeah IOWA with 20 inches and you better not park on plow side of road or you will never see your car again LOL. We probably wont even get any here LOL
Ok, now I will move on:))
I am ok after the episode we had. I was verbally and phsyically attacked but am sore but ok.
thnks for caring about me.
) I did go to chruch last night after packing up all her stuff. We are moving it to garage tonight to get out of room. We did quite from the company. We prayed on it and we are just done. We want to help but unfortunately the system destroys anything good you try to do with red tape. We just realize how blessed we are with our own daughter and will move on knowing we have impacted many other lives over the years for the good and hopefully this young lady too will have learned some good life lessons while she was with us.
Going to church did help give me peace and comfort and support. I slept like a baby last night first time in long while. It is wierd waking up and not having to take care of anyone but myself LOL Thank goodness cause I overslept this am. Didnt get up til 6 an hour late start LOL
Miracle, Iredessa, Midnight and boys are doing great out in field. I was their new climbing toy yesterday while sitting by feed troughs watching them play:)) Mommas all good too.
Got another lap quilt done last night:) Tonight finish layering batting and backing on 10 more and will deliver to ladies to tie on Sunday:))
Well gotta finish lunch and get back to work.
God Bless and happy thoughts
Izzy
Got Myles in prayer hope Appt went well Chriss:))
You ladies slow down decorating but if you finish early come do mine LOL I do have two of Gabriela's elves on my couch and the grinch sitting on the other one:)) My DH got me the grinch last year:) He says I am terrible about decorating and he is right I hate the clutter it causes:)

Maryz - Don has a small circular saw that is battery operated and he uses it often for small stuff. Bill has the tools and only needs the soft tool box, right? I taught my girls to do their own laundry at the age of 9.
Sharona - oh, that is entirely TOO COLD!!!
Chickie - hi. Would a little snow put you in the Christmas mood?
Sherry - LOL about your boys eating the centerpiece. I don't think they'd like mine. So far it is three candle votives filled with Epsom salts and a glass finial-type ornament stuck down into them. There's three. Not tasty at all. I need more Epsom salts. Looks like snow in those votives.
Jana - how CUTE!!
Izzy - man, I must have missed something. Sounds like you had a drama/trauma day but you are at peace now. That's good.

Izzy you are so right. My son lived in Kentucky for 13 years and he always laughed because the would freak out if they had an inch of snow. One time in Owensboro when he worked at GE the town completely "shut down" because of a little ice storm. He loved living in Kentucky, but said they had no idea how to drive in winter weather.
