Re: Thursday, November 7th
Good morning, good morning,
I don't think I'll tell Victoria about Maryz and Chriss going a few weeks past their due date! She might cry. It sounds like they will induce her on Tues. if she has not delivered before then. I hope they don't have to induce, but God knows when this baby is supposed to come.
We are having mini dramas at the church which happens with us silly people since we all seem to have our own opinion. Then some things happen that remind us what is really important, like a 16 yr old having a seizure that stopped the breathing, or a sweet lady with asthma who collapsed and now her husband of 53 years is planning her funeral.
I will check in with Victoria and maybe if she is stir crazy again she will want to do something with old mom!
Have a wonderful day everyone,
Karlene

Re: Thursday, November 7th
Suz - is your furbaby not allowed to sleep in your bed with you? This morning I closed the bedroom door while I was getting ready and my sister's dog, Bailey, started wailing in the hallway. My gosh, I thought she was terribly hurt the way she was carrying on. I opened the door ready to do rescue and she shut up and pranced her little butt in the bedroom and got on the bed and watched me. She sure scared me - LOL.
Lois - those compression stockings are hard to get on even if they are the correct size! I hope they help and that you get to sew some today.
Vicky - I had a cordless iron for a while and I loved it. Only thing is that it didn't get hot enough for me. I'm glad your stomach bug is gone. I was getting worried.
Chrissy1 - well, the nerve of that lady! You now have to go thru the hassles of having your car repaired and being without it for a while. Surely she has insurance? I called yesterday to make an appointment to have my mamms grammed but never got thru. I'll try again today. As busy as they are it might be 6 months before I can get in there. Grrrrrrr.
Redtop - I know it is scary for your family. Prayers sent up.
Maryz - have a happy sewing day. I'll be so glad to get home on Friday night so I can sew. I'm really missing it. Won't be able to sew much on Saturday because Sue and I are meeting Vicki and her sister at Reliant Center for the Nutcracker Market which is a charity thing for the ballet foundation. It's a Christmas shopping extravaganza and I've been wanting to go to it for years but we are always either at the quilt show or the Wurstfest. I'm getting a little excited for that. I'm hoping it's not so hoity-toity that I can't afford the prices - LOL.
Judi - how do you clean the upstairs windows? Do you have to get on the roof? I hope you get your phone contacts in and the ringers all straightened out.
Chriss - I love to crochet but haven't made anything in years. I don't want to get something started and then have it sit for years and years. I actually haven't had too much sit time because of taking Gavin to Verizon the past two nights and eating out afterwards. And it takes me an hour to get to my sister's from the office. Anyway, I'd crochet before I ever did hexies! LOL What????? You married a Yankee????? LOL LOL That's OK - so did my daddy. He was from the Houston area and my mom was raised on Long Island.
Well, this is certainly an odd ball week for me. I can't wait to get home tomorrow evening. I NEED to sew. Today at lunch I need to shop on line for a sunflower panto and a Christmas panto. I'm going to Vicki's over Thanksgiving weekend to quilt the Christmas quilt I'm making right now and my RV quilt and, if I have the time, I'll do my sunflower Dresden Plate one, too. I think that third one is wishful thinking. I'm at work now and must get busy.
I hope you can all fondle fabric today.

Re: Thursday, November 7th
Good morning!
Suzette - what a sweet and thoughtful gift from your friend. I think this is the friend we prayed for after her accident? How wonderful that's she's been able to heal and resume her stained glass work. I'm glad you got the films to the hospital without a fuss - sometimes that can be a daunting task. Yay for getting the furbaby retrained! Hope you get to sew today after work.
Lois - your DH is a trooper. I'm glad they'll let you return them - I know those stockings can be pricey. Good luck with the food shopping.
Vicky - sounds like the bug has finally left the building. What a wonderful treat for your DMIL to have her great-grandkids pay her a visit.
Chrissy1 - that is wonderful news about Myles. I pray for him (and the rest of y'all) every morning. I wonder when they'll revoke that woman's license. Sure hope the damage isn't too much to your car.
Redtop - wonderful news! I'll continue praying.
Maryz - thanks - now I have the Rawhide song stuck in my head (rolling rolling rolling/keep those dogies moving/though they're disapproving/Rawhide). Glad your big uglies are over so that you can sew unimpeded today.
Judi - how frustrating that your phone is being persnickety. Hopefully Ken will be able to fix yours after he plays with his. Best of luck on the windows. I had over 36 windows in the old house, this one has half that. A lot of them are atrium/sun room windows, so that will be fun. The former owner of this house left us two different window cleaning companies. She is really short, so I bet she couldn't clean them from top to bottom. Your river view sounds beautiful.
Chriss - hope Mar's troubles aren't big ones. I agree - communication is so critical. We got a call from the contractor last night - they're going to start excavating either today or tomorrow. YAY! The cupcake was good, the frosting fairly reeked of Bailey's. I bet I got a wee bit tipsy from it. haha Happy work day to you on this Friday eve.
Kathy - I hope you find a ride to the airport so you can put that behind you. What a pain about your prescriptions. Happy quilting today.
Miriam - you paint such a beautiful picture. I'm going to find the Audubon people out here so I can do some bird spotting. It really is quite fascinating. How nice of your DH to build duck homes! Sounds like you have all your holiday plans figured out. Although it sounds like you're doing most of the Thanksgiving cooking, or at least the lion's share of it. I have a dumb phone (prepaid from T-mobile) and an Ipad. It works for us (so far).
Karlene - I was three weeks early with DS1 and three weeks late with DS2 to add to the stories not to tell Victoria. You're so right about realizing what is important. I hope the boy is ok and prayers go out to the gentleman who lost his wife. Our pastor's 19 yo son is in the hospital with meningitis and is still paralyzed. They have no idea what caused it nor what the outcome will be after the brain swelling is gone.
Cindyg - one more night and you're back home! How is your DH and your dogs managing without you? I hope Gavin's phone problems are over now. The craft show sounds nifty. Your quilt plans for Thanksgiving are ambitious!
Today we're headed to a cheapo furniture store to get headboards and platforms for those foam mattress thingies we got at Costco. And also unpack some more boxes in the front room. Slowly but surely! OH - forgot to mention. DH talked to our realtor last night. We had a couple take their second look at our old house. While they were there, a neighbor from three doors down came and poached them to go see his house and all he had done. DH was really hurt by this - he's been good friends with this neighbor for years - the guy even told my DH what he was going to list his house at, but then he chopped $$ off the price. Very strange - he must be desperate to sell his house is what we figure. Our realtor was NOT happy. Oh well - you reap what you sow - it's a shame he had to act so ugly. Have a great day! xoxo Sharona

Re: Thursday, November 7th
Funerals will bring about strange events.
I just had a call from my friend. We have not talked in 6 years. She is a friend from college; my girls were flower girls in her wedding; they were the friends we knew here which is the main reason we moved here when we moved from CO; her husband started to molest Victoria 10 yrs ago; he says Victoria lied and was deeply disturbed; and they moved away 6 yrs ago.
She was calling for information on the funeral, but then she said she wants to get us back on track. She wants to know if I amenable to that.
I'm sorry, I usually try not to put personal drama on here, but if anyone would have any counsel from experience, I would value that.
I have forgiven (and continue to forgive) what happened. There has never been repentance on his part. I understand that she is going to stand by her husband. Letting her back in to my life means letting him back in also.
Thank you all for bearing with me unloading this.

Good afternoon!
Had all of my grands here this morning - it was Parent/Teacher conferences for my Andrew - so the rest came and played with Grandma - Ethan got so tired out - it was right at naptime - so he is down. We have to work on that Grandma can hold and love the others as well as Ethan - he is a little green-eyed when it comes to sharing me.
It is cold here today - snow on the mountains and in the back country - the ski resorts are beginning to open up this week-end and all will be open by Thanksgiving. Early start this year. That is good for Utah and the snow can stay up in the mountains! LOL
Got most of the blocks sewn yesterday - will finish them as soon as I am done here - they are coming out great - love that pattern - so quick and easy! I can use up my Christmas green scraps too!
So that is it for around here - by the way I still have the dumb phone - flip too - like it that way!
Judi - another good app is JoAnn's and Costco - all you have to do with Costco is scan a code in the front of the ads that come and show the cashier and you get all the discounts too!
Better get going -
Have a great one!
Hugs

Karlene - I agree with Judi.
The wife is not innocent in all of this. I speak from the experience two of my sisters had, plus one of my best friends. You do NOT want this man around you, your daughters or granddaughters, where the cycle of abuse can continue. Victoria might very well view your friendship with this woman as a huge betrayal. And she'll have a daughter soon. It is such a common refrain for the abuser to say the child made it up and is deeply disturbed. What a freaking jerk.
We are called to forgive those who have hurt us, which you have done. I cannot think of any place in scripture where we are called to remain among those who hurt us or our children, and think nothing of it. So thanks, but no thanks for her offer of 'friendship'. Sorry to be so blunt, but this makes me so mad I could chew nails. AURGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll be praying for your dealings with this awful situation.

OH How I ache for some of you and all that is going on. I am stopping right now to pray.
I hope each of you in need felt the touch of an angels breath cause I sent them your way. God bless you: Karleene, Suzette, these pregnant gals still waiting, Chriss with school issues with Mar. Oh the burden was heavy and I prayed you all up:)))
Now its Thursday and I originally wanted to shout Calgon take me away but my issues are nothing compared to some of your needs. I thank God daily for each of you and I promise I PRAY for you all.
I am going to tie quilts together tonight. One of my ladies at NH is turning 50 Next sunday--she had massive stroke and now is paralized from shoulders down. She asked that we pray her son will come visit her He has not come to see her since the stroke. Bless her heart. such a sweet lady she paints with her mouth and beautiful paintings. Plan to get her some supplies for her bday:))
Thinking what to fix for supper. HUMMMMMM not sure what I have a taste for LOL. Will come to me I am sure.
Well may angels guide each of you the rest of the week. Please keep Gabriele in your prayers she has a big move coming to Germany. She has visited with us and was one with all the great Christmas items. I am looking forward to getting my elves in next week or so from her. But I know she needs our prayers right now:)
Well off I go to get DD off van and then to feed and check on peanut. Still no babies. Snow here next week you watch she will have them then UGHHHH, always in the cold.
Heat lamps are ready:)
God Bless and happy thoughts
Izzy
