Lois - that's great. What walking aids are you using.
Rosebud - have a great day.
Suz - staying busy is a good thing because you CAN.
Chrissy1 - great about Torrie and Heather. Not so great about little Myles.
Tess - sad news about your nephew. Prayer sent up.
Judi - have fun with Sophia tomorrow. Sorry her school doesn't do Halloween but she'll have fun with you. I need to get to my quilting machine, too. I've got them stacking up.
Chriss - WOW you've never had chicken and dumplings??? The best place to try them is Cracker Barrel - they are soooooooo good. They're almost as good as my grannie's. We had a neighbor, Mrs. Brumley, who had a cotton candy machine and so she gave out cotton candy on Halloween - and if it was humid it made a real mess - LOL.
Vicky - have fun with the grands.
Maryq - come on down to my house.....then we'll go out to eat at Cracker Barrell for good chicken and dumplings - LOL LOL. What I made was a chicken and dumpling casserole. Different than the real McCoy. (oops, did I just tell my age?)
I'm at work with still lots to do and had to drive to work in a storm. It's suppose to rain today and tomorrow - thank God, we sure need it. Day after tomorrow we'll just about be getting close to downtown and the convention center - WOO HOO. I'm getting so excited!! BOING BOING BOING BOING. Must get my work done here at the office first though so off I go for now.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Re: Hump Day October 30,2013
Good Rainy Morning!!
Today is "Trick or Treating" for this neighborhood. I'm ready with lots of candy I would never eat!
My eyes are still feeling itchy from all the drops I think, there were 3 different ones. I need to go back to have my peripheral vision tested.
I made the backing for the very old table topper & I cut it too small. Need to fix it today. It has 5 Dresden plates & 4 blank blocks. I'll quilt the same size Dresden plate in there. I love this piece because you can still see the stitching lines in the old feed sacking.
Lois....what good news! Remember Only slow dancing!
Mary/rosebud...have great day.
Suzette.....Happy Quilting!!
Chrissy.....I'm really sad to see Myles is still having problems keeping food down. Prayers for all.
Tess...saying prayers for your nephew.
Judi....glade you went to the gym. I'm going to walk around the basement today. Happy windows!!
Chris....yesterday I got through half of you sentence before I realized you changed it up...lol
Vicky......have a wonderful day!
Maryq....I'v never had chicken & dumplings either. Maybe some one will invite us over. I remember my great aunt Beth gave me a lecture on being married before I have a baby the day I visited her with my baby. The husband was parking the car.
Karlene...poor Victoria.....soon she'll be holding the baby. Apple dumpling are yummy, those I've had.
Love & Prayers to all. Kathy

Re: Hump Day October 30,2013
Good morning!
Los - YAY! That is great news. That bag went together fast.
Mary/Rose - have a blessed and wonderful day today.
Suzette - enjoy your day off - happy sewing.
Chrissy1 - I really REALLY hope Myles can get some relief.
Tess/Redtop - prayers for your nephew. I hope they can help him.
Judi - you really must have been tired! Have fun at the gym. I walked by my bathing suit yesterday - that's as close as I'll get to one.
Chriss - turkeys do come in flocks, but herds makes me laugh. Come on down! Have a great day at work.
Vicky - have a wonderful grandchildren day.
Maryq - one wonders - how does your work face differ from your home face? I saw a costume last night that had my near hysterics - it was a guy wearing a blue foil wig-looking thing - he had pom pomns and was wearing a banner on his shirt that that said 'go fans'. His costume was that of a ceiling fan. HAHA! It sounds like you're the fun one at work. Your aunt sounds like a live wire.
Karlene - I bet Victoria isn't the only one wanting to hold that baby! I hope she's born soon. It seems like it was just a couple of months ago that you were making those apple dumplings.
CIndyg - I love the dumplings, but not the chicken. So when I make it I make homemade noodles with the chicken for DH because he doesn't like dumplings, and then I get all the dumplings with no chicken- yum. BOING BOING BOING I can feel your excitement. Hope the storm wasn't too awful to drive in.
Kathy - happy trick or treating to you tonight! I also bought candy I won't eat. Hope the rain clears up before the t-o-ting starts. Sorry about the backing, but it sounds like you have a plan.
Today we're headed to town to run about 15 errands. The dog goes to the vet for a thyroid check and then to the groomers, and then we have Ikea and Costco on our list - one of them will drop off I'm sure. I looked at those cool metal quilt blocks for sale on the QIAD website - I think I'll order one for our outbuilding if it ever gets approved and built. Have a great day! xoxo Sharona

Re: Hump Day October 30,2013
Typhoon weather here lOL heavy rain and its Picture day at school. This year we will all look like drounded rats. LOL Had to take kids outside to get to gym and most had no umbrells. YUK.
No sewing last night I had one of those: OMG my house is disgusting nights. I cleaned basement until 930 DH laughed. Dusted vaccuumed took out trash and picked up den, office and bath. YUK such slobs LOL
I just shut sewing room door. Disgusting. That is getting worked on Friday night I have pull from stash and piles are all over. Lap quilt blocks are all over sewing table. OH MY. I cant stand disarray so I have to organize it.
Leaving work early today:) DFD has appt with dietitian:) to set up diet regimine to help her loose wt. She has lost total 7#:) in two weeks.
Off tomorrow too to take Dad to dr in big city Louisville and they are callin for storms. Would love to stop in at quilt shops nice one up that way but he cant sit long due to arthritis; it has really crippled him something aweful. Going to get skin cancer looked at on his face, neck and ears. Keep him in prayer. All those years working outside without hat or sunscreen.
I know 25 lap quilts is a bunch but I couldnt have done it without all you alls help.

Well back to work. God Bless and Happy thoughts
Izzy

Re: Hump Day October 30,2013
Good morning!
Made it down here while it was still that! Eating my brunch - Kathy's Cranberry muffins! Yummy!
Sarah and I got the back needed for a quilt and I am loading it on Robin in a few minutes. I have the pillow sham almost finished and the binding on another large quilt sewn on and I am doing the hand work now - both should be done this afternoon.
Warning - venting following:
There are days when extended family needs to be sent to the Russian front! That gives away my age! SIL is still doing stupid things with FIL's money and accounts - we have all of them here but one and she is continuing to use it - like we would never see it - right!!!! We finally got that last account's info and everything is now being sent here and we had to put a freeze on it. Someone is going to be very unhappy when they find out the next time they try to use it and it is declined! SIL was the one that informed the family that FIL's funds were about to run out too! Like my law enforcement son says - they only catch the stupid ones! So true - OK my vent is over - all of the stuff of SIL, is costing me money - as the shortages for FIL's care is coming from our pocket.
Hard to type and nibble muffins at the same time - so I had better get going on all of my sewing - Sarah will be home from work in a couple of hours and she wants to do some practice quilting on Robin.
Hugs
Jana

Re: Hump Day October 30,2013
Good afternoon from sunny and warm, SW. Pa....We're having a gorgeous Fall day.....
It's been a hectic week so far here in our household....I've been running with Kathy and her fellow and when I drop into bed, I don't move.....Yesterday, we spent most of the day with my sister and her family...We tell everyone, this is an experience all by it's self...My DBIL is a taxidermist and he had to show Tim the shop and his display area, which is like a museum and then we went to lunch and more and more of the family kept dropping in... But, the new fellow passed inspection and was declared a "keeper"....It was kind of funny hearing from him that we talk funny! We, the originator of words only known and spoken in Pa...And when we were leaving, he turned to my sister and said, It was so much fun meeting "yinz"...I thought she was going to fall on the ground laughing....
Today they are off for a cruise on Pittsburgh's 3 rivers, ride the incline and then go to the Penguin game this evening...Tomorrow they're leaving to visit with the girls and come back here on Sat. and then leave for Reno on Sun. after breakfast with the rest of the family....This poor guy will never be the same!
With so much happening, would you believe Jim and I both forgot our anniversary....59 years ago yesterday, can't believe it....We both have a serious case of CRS.....But we made up for it today...We celebrated by eating at Arby's after we did some errands...Can't beat those buy 1 get 1 free offers, lol.....
Lois, so happy to hear you're allowed to do a little "light dancing"...Just take it easy, no marathons yet....Do you really want to go back to work or maybe hold off until spring????
Karlene, wish I lived just a little closer...Apple dumplings (that someone else has made) has to be a favorite...I'd even help with the peeling....It does seem only a few months since you've last made them....
Chriss, when you guys go for Chicken and dumplings, pick me up....I've never really had it myself....I was behind your car again today but this one was burgundy.....Jim and I were out doing errands...Had to go to Walmart for cat food and candy. You know, the staples in this household.....
Well, I think I'd better do something even if it's wrong....I'm sure there's something outside that needs taken care of......
You all have a great day.....................

Afternoon everyone.
The breast cancer quilt is done. I just have to sew on the label. My next project is the wedding quilt for my nephew. Someone asked which one I am making for them. I am doing El's Braid in a Day. I am using a jelly roll of batiks that are navy blue, cream, dark brown. I love doing this one. Well, I guess I better think about something for dinner. The dogs are swearing I didn't feed them yet. But, they know better.

Hi,
I got a late start today. Then DH wanted to go to Costco. Every single day this week he has interrupted me to do something. but tomorrow, I'll be interrupting him when we go to Seattle. I have an appt with a dermatologist that the new owner of our new LQS recommended. Now, do I have a full-service quilt shop or what??
Now DH has gone off on an errand of his own so I have a whole 2 hours to myself! After I put away the groceries.
LOIS - glad you're back on foot!
TINA & KARLENE - watching for baby reports
CINDY - 2 more sleeps!
