Re: Sunday OCTOBER 20 2013
Good Morning Girls
Another dreary day here, would be a great day to stay inside and sew, but it's the last day I'll have to spend with Jen and family. Am sure hoping you can make it to meet my Sister today, I know Ann would love to get her hands on the baby for a few hugs and kisses!
Went over to DEX's for dinner last night and had a good time. His wife is quite a sweetheart and always so kind to me and all my family. As I pulled into his driveway there was this really neat desk sitting out my his garage with a price tag on it... I recognized the desk as one we had in our drug store many years ago and of course my first thought was "what a great sewing table that would make" So, as luck would have it--he gave it to me FREE! My boys loaded it in my car and I've brought it home! Now to rearrange the sewing room so I can fit it in and find some strong somebody to help me get it OUT of my car and down stairs--oh gosh I hope it fits. I'll photo it later. We had the desk especially built for the pharmacy and it's got wonderful drawers for "stuff"!
Tomorrow I go back to work and DEX is taking the kids to the airport. Am hoping they can stop by for a few more hugs and kisses on their way. I probably won't get to see them again until spring, thinking I'll fly up to AK for Eli's first birthday!
Judi... when Ken is done painting your house... send him over here! I'm waiting for the bug to bite me to get going on the painting jobs in my Job Jar. My bedroom needs painting but I can't find the perfect color yet. Love Dark blue--I bet it looks really classy and cozy in his den. My bedroom is two shades of blue kind of texture painted, thinking about an off white, tho I know it will take 2 coats to cover the dark blue!
Suzette... hope you have a great day holed up in your studio. Are your doggy quilts done? I'm sure I have a ton of stuff for Goodwill too... usually when Jen is around she helps me get rid of stuff and I would LOVE to go through my closet and get rid of all the clothes that don't fit or just plain ugly!
Chriss... CONGRATULATIONS to Mar for MVP!! WAY COOL!!! Love turkey left overs.. Not sure what I'm doing to Thanksgiving this year. It's hard for me to have dinner here because I have to work the day before and the day after! When it comes to turkey, the bigger the better!
Maryz... Hope you have a great time on your trip and that you have good traveling weather. Sounds like you have lots to keep you busy!
Like my Mom used to say all the time... "See you on the flip side"
Lois... you sure did "put the pedal to the metal" yesterday Six hours of sewing? Yikes. How was the foot this morning?
Dolores... Will add Carmine to my prayer list today.
MaryR..... what you fixing for breakfast? Maybe I'll join you, I love a good big breakfast on Sundays! My dad used to cook a big brunch when we got home from Church on Sundays.. scrambled eggs with onion, tomatoes and just about anything else he could think of to throw in.
Chickie.... Uglies can wait til another day... Have fun in your sewing room! Are you working on anything in particular?
Kathy.... Hope you have a great time at quilting group today! I love making pillow cases...They are so fun and easy!
Well, girls I better get going. kind of at loose ends here until I hear from Jen about the plan for the day. Need to go down to sewing room and take some measurements to see how I'm going to get that desk in there... move some stuff around and cross my fingers that everything will fit!
Wishing you a Blessed Sunday!

Good morning!
My nephew Derek called yesterday to say goodbye. His mom, dad and sis, Erica the Airman are in Abilene to wish him goodbye. He goes to Dallas then to Norfolk, Viginia tomorrow then Afghanistan.
This brought back so many memories of the Vietnam Era. Saying goodbye to my DH at LAX. DH and I shared an embrace and kiss that made our toes curl in front of his parents...we weren't married yet. DMIL was and is a prude, she kept denying her son had a girlfriend and wouldn't invite me to family gatherings but DH did and so did his paternal aunts. I remember all the soldiers coming and going, so many of them. DH was twenty when he left in 1969, spent Christmas and his 21st birthday in Vietnam. Derek is 23. Keep him in your prayers.
The Gkids and I will start Care Packages for Derek. They want to draw pictures and write notes. The rest of the family want to join in. DH's aunt did it for him and I want to do it for Derek.
Maryz, have fun at the beach, my favorite place to visit.
It's still in the mid to upper 80's, I was hoping to put the fan away.
I refuse to turn the AC on.
Chriss, have fun making the whatsit and the thingy.
Chickie, hope you get a chance to sew...what are you working on now?
Coffee is getting cold, the sun is shining, let's see what trouble I can get into today.
Love, Lucie

Good morning ladies.
Well I did make it to the sewing room yesterday. Finished up a few embroidery project and squared up some block. Today I'm going to clean and organize the room I'm having trouble finding stuff because it's so messy.
Judi sounds like you had a full day yesterday and more to come today. It's always nice to get a space cleaned and painted.
Maryz have a good trip with the little guy. Take lots of pictures to share.
Maryq sounds like you hit the jackpot. The desk sounds perfect.
Mary/rosebud, hope you're on the mend. Back problems take a long time to heal.
Well I need to get busy. Have a great day everyone.

Hi.....
There are so many to respond to but I need to make myself cute so I can go to the quilt meeting. I've made 18 pillow cases.
I'll be thinking of you all. today's lecture is on red work. I wish I had something started to work on while I'm there.
My Kim is doing well. Her wounds are getting smaller. Tow of them are being difficult & needed scraping again. The lumps no change that she can see.
Love..................Kathy

good morning all. Green beans are good for dogs. Mine love them:)) Anytime I have leftovers they get them:) Beans: brown and white also good supplement for them:) Just some other ideas. I have Weinemeier and they have really really picky tummys. He loves eggs, greenbeans and brown or white beans the most. He will eat eggs cooked or raw. Really makes his coat shine too. I usually increase rations is in winter since outside and needs extra energy to keep warm. He snuggles with my shepherd/beagle mix who is really hairy and love the bonus foods too.
Got home from church DH still in bed pretty sure shingles now. Poor thing--nothing like a sick hubby--he isnt too bad this time round just looks rough. Eyes and neck swell then look normal then swell again. I have called him egor all weekend LOL:)
Headed back to church tonights revival:))) Oh how I love a good revival; had one wed-fri at nursing home and tonight at our church and next sunday night we travel to another church for final night of revival:)) Ours is mor traditional hymns and preaching. Next sunday is more contemporary-- drums and electric guitar and cont christian music mixed into with hymns. Been there once before it was nice; older folk have more trouble with music but its not blaring loud or rockish so it was nice. I am just old school and love just a good piano or organ:)) As long as GOD is in it I am ok with it:)
Well time to do a lil sewing and finish a few uglies too.
God bless and happy thoughts.
Gotta make papa smurf pumpkin of DFD a red hat LOL
Yes the pumpkin is blue LOL Tomorrow we are making a butterfly pumpkin:)

Evening, all.
This weekend got away from me. Sounds like y'all had a great weekend,
Tina - I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt.
Maryq - I can't believe Jen's visit is over! Glad you scored on the desk.
Maryz - have a lovely time at the beach.
Izzy - sorry your DH has shingles - NOT fun.
Lois - yay for your left foot!
Dolores - carmine is on my list also.
May I ask you to pray for my Aunt Judy? She was just diagnosed with bladder cancer and they've biopsies a nodule in her lung. Thanks so much.

Thank you everyone. Chriss and MaryR, I am glad she's not in anymore pain too.
Had the Klobase today plus my 30 year reunion was there too, I didn't sign up for it, too expensive but I got a ton of bear hugs from them and all of Remondini family, they really helped me
)
Heating up leftover red chili meat from last night and beans and rice.
I hope you all have a wonderful evening. Prayers for those in need.
