Good Cloudy Morning.....

I'm having a home day, I got all my running around done yesterday. My sister went for her Mamo yesterday. There was some mix her Dr wants a reg & a 3D. She'll have to go back Thurs & there will be a Dr there to read it so she won't have to wait 2 week for the results. She's in full worry mode & I'm right there with her. She could use some prayer, please. Her State run Health Ins will not cover the 3D Mamo....it's $700.
Sunday I burned something on the stove & was very surprised the smoke alarm didn't go off as the room filled with smoke. Well I know what it sounds like now at 7:10 this morning it went off. While it's blaring away there is a very calm voice saying "fire, fire". There is no fire. Where was she when I filled the house with smoke....LOL
I ended my day yesterday with a stop at the LQS to look for pink fabric & I'll look for a different block to make today.

Suzette...I'm pleased to see that things have lined up for you & the study. I have an eye appt the end on this month. I plan on my sister driving me. Sorry to hear about that young woman. It's kind of you to make her a quilt.

Carole.....sorry to hear Medicare is a pain again. Prayers for reversal again. I need to get my Christmas list made so I know what I need to sew.

Mary/rosebud.... Have a fast & smooth work day.

Lois....Oh yes I remember how wonderful it felt to sleep with a naked foot. Sorry to hear about your Dr & his hip. Is he older?

Happy Happy Birthday Dolores!!!!!

Jules....sorry to hear you under the weather. Will keep you in my prayers. I'll check out your "girls". Sewing is a good therapy & you always seem to use such cheery colors.

Love & Prayers to all in need.........Kathy

Suz - sorry to hear about that guy's DD. Sweet of you to make a quilt. Why do you have to have your eyes checked before you can start the study?

Carole - sorry about your infusion. It seems they are trying to make things more difficult for us. Same with my bone pill - I use to take Boniva once a month and it didn't make me feel ill. Insurance will no longer pay for it so I have to take the once-a-week pill and they make me feel very achy all day. Poor Devil Dog - he just wants to be a part of the conversation and the hugging.

Rosebud - for some reason I was up a little early this morning, too. Like an hour early. I took my time getting ready and still got here 30 minutes early. Same hum-drum for me, too.

Lois - a new roof is great. Somehow it feels like getting a new hat. Glad that other doctor went ahead and saw you. Sorry you still have to stay off that foot but better safe than sorry. I think I'd still sleep in the boot for fear of a re-injury.

Dolores - Happy Birthday!!!!!

Jules - you were probably just tired from having the young girls. I hope your machine gets you feeling much better.

Kathy - it might behoove you to have that fire alarm checked out. It needs to work when it needs to work.

Nothing new with me. I'm at work blah blah blah. Trying to wait patiently for Nov. 1 & 2 - the Houston Int'l. Quilt Festival - BOING BOING BOING.

I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good morning... today we are having a pot luck for lunch today.. the theme is tostada's... my job.. bring the cheese and sour cream...

Suzette, remember when you were pregnant and every one had a pregnancy horror story or a labor horror story? well this daughter of the guy at work is ONE story... there are so so many successful stories just like there are so many successful births.. remember that you are going to be a success story...because you have all of us praying and God is on your side...maybe your successful story will give this girl hope?

Scrappy Pat.. nice that DD got you some baggy clothes.. what a blessing to not have to shop for clothes.. you will do great tomorrow...it will all be over soon... will DD go with you to hear what the doctor says? I always need a second set of ears to hear everything...

Sharona, sorry you had to go back to the old house.. are you almost done? it will be nice to be able to stay in your bird house and never fly the coop again...we only have a few more soccer games left... unless, heaven forbid, she gets selected as an all star, then the tournament begins.. ugh...

Maryz.. the soccer games are only an hour and I have to water my girl every 15 minutes so there really isn't much time for hand work.. besides she looks over at me often with a thumbs up and I have to return the thumb to her...she is goalie so I hold my breath a lot... glad you had a free day, and that Scottie was big enough to go on the walk.. hope he's unbroken today...the interviews we have will likely never be over... it's not fun being judged and scrutinized for the last 2 1/2 years.. sort of reminds me of growing up with my mom...lol..guess God was preparing me then for this now...ha ha..

Cindyg.. glad Gavin is headed towards a career.. I didn't realize he was already headed towards graduation.. I thought he was much younger... my son loved being a volunteer fireman... in our town the volunteers get certificates when they complete training that look good when applying for a job maybe Gavin can do CSI or Fire stuff as a volunteer and get letters of recommendation.... hope he does well...

Karlene, how exciting that Victoria's due date is getting closer.. I had her feet when I was in her condition...I bet she can't wait for her ankles to be thin again...I love the fall colors too, but here it's mostly oak trees that have two colors.. drab green and brown.. such is life.

Lucie, will there be a picture of Drew coming our way...talking about a baby and not showing a picture is like having a bowl of M&M's just out of your reach.. it's not fair... every house is baby proofed till the baby shows up...give him a smooch for me.

Chickie.. if you have the halloween party DH can always go as a farmer, I haven't dressed up in years

Tina.. I am excited for you.. waiting on that baby must be nail biting for you..he will sneak in when you are not looking...

Karlene.. glad you got into the class.

O'Dorothy, nice to have your very own grounds keeper.. guess if times got hard he could get a job at a golf course...did the doc appt with your sis include Chinese food?

Judi, you really are getting quite a few blocks...I am so glad.. I have been laxed at making any but promise I will get moving in the next couple of weeks...

Lois.. after what you have been through two weeks will be a snap...

Jana... glad those boys have you on their knee patching job.. should keep you busy for years..

Tina http://www.blisstree.com/2010/06/03/sex ... ing-cover/ hope this helps

O'Dorothy.. I stayed in a motel in Las Vegas when we were traveling across country where we didn't undress and slept on top of the bed too...also had one here in Cali where the walls were cement block and the bed sunk in the middle.. I am sure they were both over $49

Carole, woo hoo, glad you got that power nap...funny that the dog leans on you when you hug DH... my son used to sit between my dad and his wife.. no one was messing with his grandma Judy.. not even his grandpa...lol you are really going to town on those quilts... will there be pictures? how are all the kids and grands doing? to watch tv on your comuputer try hulu.com

MaryRose... have a superb day.

Jules.. hope you get back to your groovy self soon.. yes, those girls have really grown... sending hugs and prayers to you my friend...

Kathy, I didn't know the smoke alarms talked now.. which pink block are you going to make?

Cindyg.. have a fun day.

for me it's work.. and after work the cps person comes for her monthly visit.. they always want to see Marilyn's room... as if we have removed the bed and added shackles or something... this whole process is really laughable...

hope you girls all have a blessed day,
Chriss

Good morning, good morning,
It looks like we're off to a rowdy morning on here!

It seems it is critter time - with no cats, we have gained Fred, the chipmunk outside, but also something got into my cornbread overnight. Ewwww! Then I came to work and the new pastor had a bat in his house. There was a group of men to catch the bat and throw it out. I'm hoping David set the trap for whatever is dining in my kitchen before he left today.

Rosebud - have you posted a picture yet of your DWR quilt?

Have a great day everyone,
Karlene

Good morning! I will keep this short and hope I can post again today. We picked about 23 gallons of paper shell pecans in the hulls yesterday afternoon. We came home and cut the hulls off and ended up with about 7 gallons of nuts in the shells. After they dry for awhile, they will be ready to shell. That was pretty much the whole day and into the evening.

Happy Birthday, Dolores! Hope it is a special day for you.

Chriss--perhaps we could go as "American Gothic"... I certainly have the gray hair, but those people are skinny! We go as ourselves which is frightening in itself...

Carole--my Christmas is turning into a sweatshop here as well. I hope to get in mine.

Lois--now your Doc gets to practice what he preaches about orthopedic surgery recovery and therapy. It was good they had a doc to see you.

Jules--your photos are delightful. Hope you find your mojo.

I'll try to post this and get back here later...

Have a super day... Let the thread times roll!

Good morning!

Suzette - hope your eye exam isn't too yucky. Best of luck and many prayers as you start on this new road.

Carole - oh my - I can just picture Luke leaning into you two! What a character. Maybe you can sneak in a nap. I hope they reverse the decision about your Orencia.

Mary/Rose - ouch - two hours is awfully early. What did they want?

Lois - I'm so glad they were able to get you into a doctor. Yay for not having to sleep with the boot! I remember we had our roof replaced after I had some outpatient surgery. Hope yours goes on quickly.

Jules - lovely to see you back - sorry about you not feeling good. I can't wait to go see the pictures and videos! Hope sewing is just the ticket for you today.

Kathy - so maybe your smoke alarm is on 'delay'. How funny that there's a calm voice announcing a fire. That would probably scare me more than the alarm going off. As we speak, one of our smoke alarms is 'chirping'. Since the handyman will be here today, I'm going to ask him if he'll change the battery, as the noise is starting to drive me a wee bit batty. Have a great stay home day.

Cindyg - howdy! Seems like a long time since I've seen you. I hope you get to leave 30 minutes early from work today - seems only fair. BOING

Chriss - I find it amazing, looking back, how He does indeed work all things for our good. I agree that it is laughable. Another example of child protection being an oxymoron - there are three boys out here who were living in filth, not potty trained (oldest is 8), not speaking a word. Neighbors and friends had informed protective services for YEARS before anything was done. AURGH. Good luck with the rest of soccer. Tostadas - YUM!!!

Judi - man I almost went back to bed after reading how warm y'all were. Prayers being said for your DS' DDIL - that is sad. Good luck with those uglies.

Karlene - OH MY GOSH I would have to put barbed wire around the kitchen. How awful!!!!!! EUGH is right. A bat in the house is no fun. I hope you are critter-free by the time you get home.

Miriam - wow you sure did get a lot of pecans! Yum. Do the shells turn your hands brown when you're removing them?

Happy birthday, Dolores!

DH is out meeting with the contractor who is building the garage/shop/quilting studio. He's nearly double the price of the guy who backed out on us, but I still maintain the backout guy seriously underbid and that's why he called it off. In any event, DH is not sleeping - getting up at 4 and then sits around worrying. I had to gently tell him this morning that him stroking out won't help the situation at all I think Friday will be our last day at the old house - it's supposed to go on the market on Monday. Today is Costco and then unpacking a few more boxes here. I cannot wait until we can start putting things away here at the bird house. Have a great day, my friends. xoxo Sharona

Just a quick hello from the Galassano center in Syracuse. They are going to do Myles proceedures sometime today. Last night his heart rate went crazy and they had to give him some different med. Shelli likes the new specialist. he is young and has lots of fresh ideas. I will try and keep updated with Judi or Kathy by text. I am at the visiton center using the internet.
Prayers and positive thoughts for all in need
looks like we are here for the long haul again, but we are in the right place.
Travel safely and return often
PINK WARRIORS KEEP GOING.

Good Morning!

This will be short. I have cracks on the ends of my fingers so have some bandaids which are very cumbersome and make typing tough.

DELORES - happy birthday!! I hope you do something extra special today!

LOIS - happy to hear you can remove the boot for most of the time. Sad to hear about your doctor. Hope he heels quickly.

CINDY - Boing!!

CHICKIE - Didn't Doyal go as a farmer last year? Maybe you guys should reverse costume - you be the farmer and he be the farmer's wife. That's a lot of pecans!!! How big are they while still in the hull?

CHRISS - You could make a little hidden well in the floor of Marilyn's bedroom for the shackles so you wouldn't have to move that bed in and out every month. . . I hear you on the soccer tourney!

CAROLE - Snickers always did that with us, too, whenever we tried to smooch. Once he even came running from the neighbor's yard - about 250 feet - barking his head off, and threw himself at us. I'm so angry at our government right now, I'll toss your Orencia onto my fire. My DB's insurance refuses to cover his Parkinson's meds, too.

MARY R - did you get the DWR finished? Did you post some photos? I'm dying to see it finished!

SUZ - I'm so sorry to hear of someone so young going through such a big thing. Prayers for her. and so nice of you to be making her a quilt! Good luck today!!

JULES - sorry you're down again. Saw your photos of the girls on FB. Such cuties!!

KATHY - I don't know about you, but I prefer a little faster response time in my fire alarms!!

JUDI - your poor niece. But it sounds like she has a great support system behind her with all your family. God bless her!

KARLENE - We once had a whole colony of mice living in my sewing room. They got into shelves of fabric and nested. I didn't find them until I pulled out a piece of fabric one day and out came some catfood with it. Catfood? I started investigating and found a cup of cat food, stolen in the night (ironic, isn't it?) and they'd used one shelf for their bedding, one for their pooping, and one for their dining. What a mess to clean up!! had to throw some of the fabrics away. So stinky!! We had a talk with the cats.

I don't know what we're doing today. But I'm starting the day out with a massage! My appt is in one hour, so I better get a wiggle on and hit the shower!

Group hug!
mary z
