Re: hump day September 18,2013
Good morning!
I sorely miss chatting with y'all every morning. I am so ready for this move to be over and done with. We close in nine days, so at least the end of packing is in sight.
Lois - happy healing on your ankle. The break sounds awful - I'm so glad you're sporting the boot now.
Vicky - I hope today is the day for Tia. Love the new quilt design.
Suzette - praying for your treatment. The binder is a great idea.
Judi - you must have needed the extra sleep - it's hard work helping your team to win. Congrats on the weight loss.
Chriss - don't you love the cooler weather? I guess the seasons are going to change, whether I'm ready or not. When do you apply for the new position?
Traci - congrats on your beautiful granddaughter! It's great to see you again.
Karlene - prayers said for your dad's surgery. He sounds like quite the character.
Jana - congrats on your new LA. Did you figure out how to fit it into the basement?
Maryz - I can just picture Scottie playing and playing and then falling down asleep. And what a trooper to have already learned how to navigate the stairs!
Kathy - prayers for your DD - I'm so glad the doctors are on Kim's side. Your new chair sounds wonderful. What a wonderful thing to meet a fellow sewer at the store! I'm so glad you're back home.
Cindyg - I really think I need to order one of your refurbished featherweights after we get moved. I am so impressed you're able to do all of that! I find the candy crush game to be quite a stress reliever. However, my new stress buster is doing the jigsaw puzzles on the 'puter. Love it!
I know I've missed/forgotten so much. We're finalizing plans on the outbuilding. The first bid was almost as much as it cost to build our current home! Of course, that was 25 years ago, but still. DH is making it big enough for me to have a quilting studio in the back. For some reason, I thought things would settle down after we moved. I forgot we need to get this house ready to sell. Oh well! Have a wonderful day, my beautiful quilty friends. xoxo Sharona

SHARONA - I was wondering about your old house, if it was on the market yet or not. So, your sewing studio will be in this new building? I thought it was going in the lower level of the house. What is Jim putting in his part of the building? the new tractor that you're going to need? The fun will start when you can start unpacking your things into your new place and making it your own. It will be all worth it! Have you started mentally decorating it for the holidays yet?
KATHY - I'll be saying prayers for Kim today. So happy things are moving forward for her. how nice to meet another sewing person. You are really settling into your new life, despite being gone to NY so much. Enjoy that chair!

Good morning, good morning,
My dad's surgery went very well, as did the rest of the day moving him out of post-op and into a room. My mom called at just after 11am their time and he had already had 2 cups of coffee! It was a long day for her, but I know it wasn't easy for her to head home alone after 57 years of marriage - or easy for my dad to be left in the hospital room. I do wish I could have been there, but we're working on heading that way.
Victoria is coming down on Friday since she is craving a sandwich from a sub shop on Main St. At least a sandwich is more affordable than her main craving through this pregnancy - lobster! I guess she has a lot of swelling in her feet and now in her hands. I hope they are monitoring her blood pressure at each visit. I'm not worried, just concerned!
Have a great Wed. everyone,
Karlene

CindyG - the surgeon is going to do a lumpectomy with radiation. I will be also taking Tamoxifan as well. First before surgery I am going to participate in a study about using a drug for Malaeria to shrink the cancer.
MaryZ - I am waiting for everything to be scheduled. I don't know when the study starts either. The scheduler at the dr office is taking care of all that and should be calling me by Friday.

Re: hump day September 18,2013
Good morning! We still have some rain chances today. So far we’ve had just a little over an inch. We’re definitely not worried about flooding… I finished my first apron and made another yesterday. Two down… several more to go. The second one was easier than the first one—guess I knew what to expect. I’ m still in awe that my mom is still making them!
Lois—that was a severe break! Take it easy and get it healed! Do you need some quilting magazines or hand needlework projects?
Vicky—that is a beautiful quilt pattern. You are right, it will look very country! What color will the stars be? If you used some scraps—variations on the same color—the stars would “twinkle” above the “cabins”. I see lots of possibilities... Hope you are feeling better soon! The moon last night was beautiful here! At midnight, it looked like twilight.
Suzette—when my late DH was getting his cancer treatments, I carried a huge binder with all my research in one section, his treatments in another along with a calendar, his meds in another and my question/answer page on top. Sometimes I had to ask the questions several times to get an answer before I could check them off. It sure came in handy many times. Best wishes to you!!!
Judi—wow, 12 pounds!!! You are going to be a new woman!!! I had so much more energy after my surgery although I didn’t lose an ounce. Your hexie quilt is so pretty. You can bust some of my UFOs.
O’Dorothy—I, too, missed your kitty baby going over the Rainbow Bridge. Hugs!!! I still miss every one of my pets—know you feel the same.
Chriss—I’m using my regular quilting fabrics for the aprons. I pretty much copied Mom’s pattern from an apron she made me. Next time I make it to Joplin, I’ll check Hobby Lobby. I could use a laminate apron for doing dishes. Wonder how it would hold up to hot grease splatters… I can see your grandpa’s “happy hunting grounds”… especially with my mousers Brutus and Carmica (he was Carmichael before he turned out to be a she at the vet’s office).
Traci—New grandmothers are supposed to spend lots of time holding the new baby!!! You have your job figured out! I love flying geese, and pink is perfect!!!
Cindy—can’t wait to see your Dresden plate quilt! That’s another of my bucket list quilts! I may have to do the sampler from “Egg Money” to get my fix of all the blocks I love.
Kathy—Hope you find a fun bunch of quilting friends! Have fun today—a quilt display—check out their activities, too! My best for Kim…
MaryZ—Happy Vet Day! I’m sure he/she will be most impressed with your new little bundle of fluff!
Sharona—good to hear from you!!! I, too, thought you were going to have the downstairs for a quilting studio. You will love your new area wherever it is!!! Hope you get it quick if you are building! Do you have an LA? If not, be sure to leave room in case you get one!
Karlene—good news that your dad’s surgery went fabulously! How much longer does Victoria have?
Time for me to get cracking… another apron today, I hope! Have a super day!

Good Morning Girls
Have just a few minutes to say hello this morning as I'm about to jump in the shower and get ready for the day. Am headed over to the clinic to get my old bones scanned and checked for osteoporosis! Then it's off to work. Was supposed to have the day off, but plans got canceled so am going to work instead.
No time to chat with each of you, but I wanted y'all to know that you are ALL in my thoughts and prayers. I asked God last night as I went to sleep to keep you all in His loving arms.
Haven't sewed a stitch in days and I'm getting the heebie-jeebies! Was a BAD girl the other night and ordered MORE fabric from QIAD sale. Lord knows I don't need more fabric, but a few things caught my eye and it was on SALE! How can you resist QIAD fabric at $4.50/yd
Not much other news from here. Work is insanely busy and we can now have all the OT we want. I may go in this weekend for a few hours, but wish I could clone myself so I can be in two places at the same time. So much to do and so little time!
Better run for now, but I do think of you all so often during the day and wanted you all to know that and that I miss keeping up with you!

Good morning ladies,
Wow, ya'll are a chatty bunch this morning! LOL
I love that commercial....when I saw the title of this thread, I immediately thought "MIKE MIKE MIKE MIKE MIKE.....what day is it?"! LOL Geico can sure come up with some cute commercials.
Still hopping here at work. It should slow down next week and we will be bored!
It was a brisk 46* this morning on the ride in to work. I do believe Fall is here to stay. The leaves are really looking pretty, too.
Well, I better get back to work. Just wanted to pop in and say howdy.
Hugs and prayers,
Mel

Kathy - that woman in the store - did she make her bag? I hope Kim gets to leave the hospital soon.
Maryz - I don't need a dang list - all my UFO's are on the walls all around me - LOL LOL. Drives me crazy(er). I do play the game at lunch and more if I can get away with it. Then I play it while dinner is cooking (I should be doing laundry) and after dinner - just one game - just one more - just one more......and so it goes.
Sharona - ROFLOL I was working jigsaw puzzles on line before I started playing Candy Crush Saga. They are both relaxing. Will you move into the new house and then get the old house ready to sell? Your new house sure looks big. We'll be glad to sell you a refurbished 221 Featherweight. Would you want it black or painted a nice color?
Karlene - ohhhh I crave lobster and I'm not pregnant - LOL LOL
Suz - it's great that you agreed to be in the study. Hoping the very best for you. I know you must be scared. Try to keep your mind otherwise occupied.
Chickie - oh, gosh, I started an Egg Money quilt years ago. It's all cut out and put away in a Rubbermaid box. I got two or three blocks made and then moved on to something else. I'm not going to tell you the stupid thing Vicki and I did while cutting out the Dresden Plate on her AccuQuilt cutter. It sure made life much harder because we were so stupid! LOL
Maryq - it sounds like you are much happier at your job lately. Am I imagining things? I know what you mean about cloning yourself. I have so much to do quilting-wise but just don't have the time. I have a jillion quilts in my mind that I want to make and the more I think about them the more stressed I get. I try not to think too much.
Mel - I LOVE that commercial. The first thing that I thought of was the girl answering "hump day" and then the camel going WOO HOO. Cracks me up every time.

Re: hump day September 18,2013
Good morning!
I am still alive - and not in too much trouble! The LA will arrive today sometime and go into the garage until the company comes back to set it up for me. All of the Christmas decorations will eventually be stored under the railroad tables - but until the tables are built - Christmas will live up at Sarah's house - she has a third car garage. Christmas currently takes up a space 13 feet long x 4 feet deep x 7.5 feet tall, packed in very tightly! I only have a few Christmas decorations! ROFLOL!!!
The move with FIL is now all set - it will be the 27th of the month - now to get the plane tickets for all involved. DS3 is still checking to see if he can get that day off - it is harvesting season and he is one man short right now - but he will only miss a Friday afternoon and be back on Saturday afternoon. We will just turn him right around on a plane - won't hardly get to see him. But he will be back at Christmas for a couple of weeks.
I, of course, had one of those in the middle of the night thoughts - I should make FIL a Quilt of Valor, for a Christmas present this year. FIL is a Purple Heart Veteran, wounded on Iwo Jima in WW2. I will enlist (pun intended) Sarah with this project as well. I am thinking of using the log cabin block and setting in the Star with borders - all red, white, and blue.
DH is out back, laying sprinkler pipe and electrical pipe conduit in the trenches - they should be tested and covered by this afternoon.
Have a nifty day! It is hump day! Yippee!!
Hugs
Jana

Good morning
)
I've been to PT already this morning, it was easier and harder at the same time LOL started off with the zaps stuff then a massage that was painful at 1st but then not and then a boat load of exercises that made the massage have no lasting affects. I asked next time if the massage could be at the end cause I was a knot again, he said yep
)
Came home and started uglies of all kinds. Mt Washmore was in serious need of climbing so I'll have loose clothes for Fridays PT. I have to make a couple phone calls and hopefully get 1 more border on my Jamestown quilt
)
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for all in need.
