Chriss - we were just talking alittle while ago about the test. he definatly wants to get it. Hopefully, it will show what happened. But, from what I read I am not sure it will. the way the dr talked this is to rule out for sure a stroke. We will see.
Jules - good to hear from you. Sorry you are not feeling well.

Suzette - I really hope you get your "me" time today. You deserve it.
Lois - I admire you for going to the gym on a regular basis. I hate exercise. I have a dreadmill at home and never get on it. I should - I know it would make me feel better.
MaryRosebud - you have a blessed day even if you have to go to work.
Vicky - what do you do at the lake? Fish, swim, boat, sit?
Delores - yummy---lobster. Does he have steak to go with? Happy birthday to your DH. You take sewing out on the boat with you? What kind of puppy do you have? If you said before, I've forgotten.
Velda - would those be raw petite carrots that your dog likes? I like them too but only when they are cooked. Good luck with that collar. I hate mending/altering. I'd rather start from scratch and make the whole thing.
Maryz - y'all be careful on your way make home. Thanks for what?
Jules - so sorry about the headaches. I know they are miserable. You make us sound like a busy group - LOL LOL.
Judi - sorry about the hystie. I had mine when I was 32 and they did a bladder suspension at the same time. They did it all vaginally so I didn't have to deal with the big slice.
Chriss - did Jerry and Marilyn finish all the painting? After the next two interviews, is the adoption going to be finished? I hope so.
Well, I'm at work blah blah blah. Worked a little bit on my hand applique last night. Maybe tonight I'll get in my sewing hole and continue putting the sashing on my Sunflower Dresden Plate quilt. I must do some laundry. Was going to start on it last night but I got some fabric in the mail so I washed and dried it instead. Priorities, you know.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Good Morning to all of you. I'm not usually reading this, if i get to at all, until the evening, so I haven't been commenting. But had a few minutes today, so I thought I'd pop in.
Today I am going over to visit a friend I haven't seen in quite a while. She has a great spot to take pictures of quilts, so I am going to take my William Morris quilt with me and take a few in case I decide to enter it in another contest. The next one is in November, but the pictures have to be sent by Sept. 15th. I'm still trying to decide if I want to try to get it accepted. Everyone here has been so encouraging though, so I may.
Suzette, I was happy to read that your husband is doing much better. I totally understand what you mean about having some alone time. I'm one who needs that too. I hope you'll get some today.
Just looked at the clock....time to run.
Have a great day! Joan

Good morning!
We did put in an offer on the house. Now the real work begins - getting this house in show order after 25 years of settling in. When I stood on the deck and the new house and breathed the fresh air and heard the wind whispering through the pines, I knew this is where we wanted to be. It's on 2.77 acres at the edge of the Black Forest. We are surrounded by pine trees, which I'm sure will make our insurance go up what with all the fires here lately. We are 1.7 miles from a fire station, so maybe it won't be so bad. I thought of Miriam as we were walking in the front door - there were hummingbirds flitting around! I know it's going to be a ton of work on both ends (packing and unpacking), but it will be so worth it to be out in the country.
I thought after we'd made the decision we'd be able to sleep - WRONG. Now we wake up thinking of all the work that has to be done. I'll look around for a website of the pictures - I know there's one somewhere.
Suzette - I' thrilled your DH is doing so much better. I'm also really glad he wants the brain wave study. Hope you get to quilt today.
Lois - so glad you get to sew!
Mary/Rose - happy work day to you.
Vicky - sure hope you get to feeling better! Especially with all the canning in your future.
Dolores - our dog also loves fresh fruit and veggies. When she is being stubborn about coming in, I ask her if she wants a pepper and she comes running in. Have a good time on the boat. HB to your DH.
Velda - good luck on that collar.
Maryz - have a safe trip home. I bet your kitty is excited!
Jules - I hate headaches - they can be so debilitating. I have hardly had any headaches since menopause - what a blessing. I used to get a migraine every time I had my period, which towards the end was every three weeks. I hope yours goes away quickly.
Chriss - glad the meeting went well yesterday. Your poor son - I hope his voice is better today.
Miriam - welcome to the hexie side! Sorry your rain has stopped. I'm going to have to get your humming bird syrup recipe.
Cindyg - hope you get to your sewing hole tonight. I agree with your priorities.
Joan - great to see you! I think your quilt will win first place, so enter away!
Better get cracking - have a great day. xoxo SHarona

Good Morning Girls
Have a few minutes to say Hello this morning before getting ready for work. Going to be HOT the next few days, may have to turn on the AC! And we're getting some moisture from the gulf so it's going to get aweful sticky up here too!
Chriss.... If there is something in the water up here, I'm not drinking it.. tho it would be a modern medical miracle if I got pregnant. For co-workers I just usually make them a tote bag and maybe some burp bibs, but for nephew and wife I'll make quilts. Glad your meeting went well. Will the next 2 meetings be the last?
Suzette.. Glad your DH is doing so much better!! Do he remember everything that happened?
Maryz... safe travels home... good idea to take it slow and enjoy the scenery along the way. Last night on my way home from work I imagined myself just driving--just getting in the car and pointing it toward Alaska. Screw the job and just drive!
Jules... So sorry you have the head throbs! Hope they subside for you so you can do some sewing!!
Velda... have fun with your pillowcase projects. I love making pillowcases, they are so fast and easy!! Have you seen the tutorial at Miss. Star Quilt Co.
Vicky... oh do take a day off and go to the lake! Just enjoy the view and take time to stop and smell the roses!
Judi....sorry you have to have a hyster, but only because it means time in the hospital again. I LOVED my hyster and would have another one if it was possible. 6 weeks off work and I felt GREAT! As a nurse you probably know more about it than me, but I felt so good, but tired easily and took a lot of naps. I had mine before menopause so it was nice not to have to worry about that monthly thing any more!
Dolores... Happy Birthday to DH! And what do you have for dinner if DH has lobster? Enjoy your day on the boat!
Cindyg... a long time ago we had a "dreadmill" In the house.. it was a great place to hang laundry!
Mainely... Hope you can squeeze in a little of that "me time" today!
Chickie.... I love baby clothes too! I did some applique on Onesies for Eli, but I'm sure he has outgrown them now! Used to do a lot of cross stitch years ago, don't dare start that again, or I'll need another spare room to keep a stash of embroidery floss!
The time has come... gotta hit the shower and get ready for work. Going to stop at the PO on the way and get my Christmas blocks in the mail to Teresa. Turned on the CD player for some music this morning-- and a Christmas CD was the next one up! I'm sweating and listening to Christmas music!
Have a great day everyone!

Hello at all,
I don't usually post, just look what ya'll are doing.
Dolores, I'm concerned about your puppy eating tomatoes. If they are not ripe enough they can make a dog very sick. I had bought some cherry tomatoes for DH, red ones and some orange ones. He gave some to our black lab, Sammy. Within half an hour Sammy was throwing up. I got on the internet and found out that green tomatoes can be deadly to dogs. The orange ones must have caused the problem. We were lucky that we didn't need to take him to the Vet, but it was a close call.
Here is a web site with info on foods that are bad for dogs.

Velda, I will be interested to know how the collar repair goes. DH has a Harley blue jean shirt he loves, but the collar is about to come apart.

Re: Tuesday, August 20
Good morning!
Waaay late here today - we have been playing with little one - He just loves Grandpa to chase him through the house!
Well the backyard project is in progress - again - we are having 100 yards of topsoil delivered on Monday - this will raise the level of the backyard slope to being level. That is why the Great wall of Herriman was built. So this week-end we need to move some rocks that I have gathered as we worked the backyard and buy some cheap plywood to put down on the grass in the side yard. The little bobcat tractor will tear up what we already have - so by putting down the plywood end to end, will help to prevent this. The company that we are buying the dirt from will tractor it back to the backyard and level it too. Only a couple of more steps and I will have grass back there too! Oh yess, that is not a typo - it is at least 100 yards!
Sarah might be moving again - back up here closer to us and in the Ward boundaries. This is what they would like. The house they are currently renting is on the market to be sold - so at anytime, it could sell and they would have to be out. This new house is one that they looked at just a short time ago, but the owner didn't want any pets. Sarah has a little furball, named Padme - so that house didn't work out - until now - the owner is changing his mind on the little cat. So we shall see......
Things are moving forward on the FIL front as well. Our attorney - also his - -is checking on everything so we can move him here. Then it is just down to the logistics of getting FIL and his car here. The car is the easy part! LOL The car is at DS3's house and we will put it on a trailer to bring here - it is FIL's "baby" - a 1978 Mercedes Benz, that he has restored. He can't drive anymore, but we can chauffuer him in his car.
Chriss - happy to read that everyone is on the same page now and down to just two more visits.
Need to scoot - rocks to move and pre-tumbleweeds to get rid of!
Hugs
Jana

Re: Tuesday, August 20
Good afternoon from summery, warm and sunny, SW. Pa...Boy, one day it's sweat shirt weather and the next you need the AC...But, that's what we kind of expect in Pa......
Suzette, good to hear your DH is feeling better...It sure is a scare when things go amiss...But, maybe this was a warning...Will be keeping you both in my prayers.....
Chriss, sounds like it's getting near the end, thank goodness...You won't know how to act when it's all over...The kids around here started back to school today...I just think it's way too early, they need more summer but I guess kids do get bored...Both Terry and Jackie had to go to get their rooms ready...I still can't believe Jackie will be teaching 8th grade...She's such a little thing and looks like she's 12...Most of the kids will be bigger than her but she told me, she can handle them, lol.....
Maryz, sorry to hear the vacation is coming to an end but we'll be glad to have you back home....we've never taken any of our furbabies on trips other than to the vets...I can just imagine us going down the road with 3 howling, terrified cats...
Judi, for someone that never goes to the doctors, you sure having your share of problems...Just not fair...Will certainly keep you in my prayers.....
Maryq, I, like you, had my hyster very early and it was the best thing ever...The surgeon kept coming in my room and asking me if I hurt and I can honestly say, I had no pain (even with the stitches)..I think I was playing tennis in 3 weeks...Those were the days! Today, if I get a paper cut, I'm laid up for days.....
Sharona, I can imagine how excited you must be...The new house sounds perfect, so peaceful...Hope to see some pictures.....
Chickie, so you got pulled into the hexagon group??? Just couldn't resist any longer...You will post pictures, won't you...We also want to see the pinwheel......
Jana, If I knew I was getting that much dirt, I'd be in the car headed out of town with orders to call me when it was done....Are you taking pictures of the before and after? And of course we need you to share the after......
Frick and Frack have been at it again at our house....This bathroom will be the death of me yet! I wanted to hang the wallpaper today but Jim wanted to do the carpet...So, we had this big piece of carpet laying in the living room, me trying to measure, remeasure and then measure again and Jim trying to cut it...I am not the most patient person but learned to curb my tongue especially when Frick is welding the craft knife...It's not done because Frick decided, he'd had enough for awhile and decided to mow the grass...I can hardly wait until he's done and we can finally lay this stuff and see who gets pushed into the tub.......
Well, I think I'm going to get a glass of iced tea and sit on the porch.....
You all have a great day.....................

Em and I went to the lake. It was a great relaxing day. Stopped at Shannon (had to drive right by) and SIL gave us corn from his garden for supper! Love it.
Great day
